• 2012 – OCIO and multi-agency Office 365 assessment teamo Outcome: O365 did not meet several mandatory business
requirements and did not have a positive ROI
• Mar. 2014 – CTS Advisory Council requested an updateo Outcome: O365 much improved but still did not meet
several mandatory business requirements
• Fall 2014 – Some agencies purchase O365 licenses for Office Professional desktop suiteo Outcome: Need a means to activate licenses
to the Office 365 cloud

• Dec. 2014 – Office 365 License Activation service launched• Single shared tenant in O365 Gov. cloud• Integrated with Enterprise Active Directory for single sign-on• WaTech manages tenant and licenses
• O365 Services available:• Office Pro Plus (desktop suite) automated activation• Office Online (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• SharePoint Online• OneDrive for Business

• Five partner agencies (CTS, DOH, HCA, DOC, DFW) agreed that more complete architectural planning is required
• Collaborated to engage Microsoft Consulting Services to assess the predominant tenant design choices:o Single-tenant (shared or consolidated)o Multi-tenant (multiple agency tenants)
• Project goal was to understand the options and provide guidance not to prescribe a specific solution

Discovery Workshops (Jun-Jul) with the intent of level setting departments on Office 365, while drawing out Business and Technical Requirements specific to tenant design alternatives.

• Define a strategy for moving forward
