Format of Course 12-hour introductory course piloted on the parish level in Tensas, Richland and
Concordia Parish from January May 2009
Anticipated that certified graduates will enroll in Lead Louisiana 2 which will betaught on a multi-parish/regional level
Curriculum designed to increase leadership knowledge and skills of electedofficials, existing and emerging community leaders and volunteers
Graduates will become more engaged in community decision making at thelocal, parish and regional level to enhance community rural development
Participants should represent all communities/towns in the parish and allethnicities and socio-economic groups
High school juniors/seniors should be recruited with a class enrollment of 2-4 Advisory Leadership Council (ALC) members, police jurors, school board
members should be invited to participate

Class 2: Communication & Building Effective Teams
Class 3: Meeting Management & Parliamentary Procedure
Class 4: Lead Tensas (or Richland/Concordia)/SWOT Analysis and Community Capitals
