� Backlog transportation charges for the year 2006-07& 2007-08 had been released.

� A new revised rate on transportation charges hadbeen issued taking into consideration of treacherousterrain of far remote areas of hill districts in the State.

MEASURES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

VIGILANCE COMMITTEE

FOOD GRAINS� In view of the prevailing situation in the State and

to ensure safe delivery and to check any

leakage, pilferage, wastage etc. at any level,

FUND FLOW

� All related funds are being sent to SMDCs

account directly.

� Earlier system of transferring funds to the Schools� Earlier system of transferring funds to the Schoolsthrough cheques via district administration. Funds arenow transferred electronically to the accounts ofSMDCs. There is hardly any time lag between fundrelease and fund received, making the authority at thegrass root level to implement the scheme on time.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

� Mass Awareness Campaign both in print and

electronic media have been started.

� Helpline Cell has already been opened to attend any inquiries/complaints and for redressal.inquiries/complaints and for redressal.

� Implementation status being reflected on the Education Department’s website

HEALTH CAMPAIGN� State Education Deptt. is in active consultation

with State Health Deptt, NRHM, Manipur, and

SSA SMA, Manipur for a synergic approach to

the issue of improving the health of the school the issue of improving the health of the school

going children. It will have a meaningful outcome

during 2010-11.

� As a modest initiative from Education Deptt. during the year 2009-10, a Health Campaign was launched

through an NGO which covered 1484 students of 22

schools in far flung areas like Tippaimuk, Somtal, Inem etc..
