Mobility Scooters can be grouped into three different categories:-Car Portable Scooters,Mid Range Pavement ScootersLarge road going scooters.

To make sure that you choose the mobility scooter most appropriateto your needs and lifestyle, there are a number of things to take intoconsideration.

A Mid Range Pavement scooter may the right choice if; you are goingmostly short distances on the pavement that do not require you to go onthe road, (you can use the road if there is no pavement to use), can geton and off a scooter without help, and have the ability to use the controlsand steering.Using the controls will require the constant use of either your fingers oryour thumbs.

Mid Range scooters are generally larger and more comfortable than thecar portable scooters, can cope with a rougher terrain, and will usuallyhave a greater range between charges.Although most of these scooters can be dismantled the parts are muchlarger and heavier than car portable scooters.

If you intend to transport your scooter by then ramps may be suitablefor loading one of these scooter into the back of a car, providing you havea car with a flat level surface to load into and sufficient headroom togive clearance.

If you are not able to cope with ramps then a hoist can be fitted to manycars to do this for you. Please contact us for further details.

The size of these vehicles will limit the maximum user weight.(see individual scooter details)

You will need somewhere to store and charge your scooter under cover,preferably in a garage or indoor.

The battery will need to be recharged, common practice is to do thisafter every time the scooter is used, or once a week if it is not beingused regularly.
