From Your Pastor
Thankful for LoveLoud
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all
have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ,
and individually members one of another. Romans 12:4-5
If you participated in LoveLoud you probably ended the weekend feel-
ing a little tired and a whole lot blessed. It is a blessing to be able to go
out in the name of Christ and minister to folks in our community. It has
been a blessing to me to hear so many good reports about how well our love
was received. Michael Anderson pointed out how neat it was to hear people
say “Christian people are here” as they explained what was going on to
their friends and family members.
I echo what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 1:4, “I always thank my God for you.” The Church there in Corinth was a real mess and yet Paul gave
thanks to God for them. When I think about the way so many of you
stepped up to lead, serve, provide, and minister to others through
LoveLoud, I am thankful! Several of you took on leadership (coordinator)
roles in Love Loud. Many of you were involved in yard work, home repairs,
random acts of kindness, block parties, and other ministries. I couldn’t be-
lieve how many cookies, brownies, and cupcakes you all brought last
Wednesday evening to take to Teachers in Garrard County. They were
very appreciative. On Saturday morning, there were over 20 people scrap-
ping and painting a ladies house. By working together, the whole house was
transformed in 4-5 hours.
As a body of believers, Paul reminds us that we do not all have the same
function, talents, skills, abilities, but we come together in one body and we
can work together for the good of the whole, for the glory of God, and for
the furtherance of God’s kingdom. Sometimes I look out on Sunday morn-
ing and think about what God could do through the body (army) known as
Lancaster Baptist if we could get them all involved in ministry. I long to
get some of our folks out of the stands and into the action. However, I’m
not going to waste too much time bemoaning the inactive when I can ap-
plaud, encourage and thank God for those who are serving Him with such
diligence and passion.
I hope LoveLoud showed you how many opportunities we have all around
us to minister to others. While it was fun serving together, don’t pass up
opportunities to serve others on a daily basis. Blessings! Bro Harold

MAKING DISCIPLES… (Questions kids ask)
Question: Why do animals die? We are the ones who sinned so why are they punished? They didn’t do anything wrong.
Answer: For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now (Romans 8:22). It is so very sad when an animal dies—especially a favorite pet. And you are right; they don't sin because they have no souls. But the Bible says that all things will die on earth because of Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden. Let me explain. If the principal at your school said there would be no recess, it affects everyone at your school because he is the head of your school, right? Well, God made Adam the head over the earth. He gave Adam “dominion” or power and control over the earth. Since Adam was our first leader, everything he did affected everything on earth. We know that God told Adam if he disobeyed he would surely die. So, since Adam had to die because of sin, everything on the earth would also have to die. And that in-cludes all the animals. It wouldn’t make sense to have sinful humans who would die when everything else around them remained perfect. When our dog died, I was sad! But it reminded me how terrible sin is, and be-cause of sin, everything and everyone must die. At the same time, I was joyfully re-minded that because of Jesus Christ and His death on the Cross, the people who believe in Him would live forever with Him in heaven even though their bodies may die here on earth.
