Applications range from dispersion based renders through to coatings for cool refl ective roofs and roof tiles, and from sealants and adhesives to cementitious waterproofi ng membranes. High-performance acrylic thermoset binders have also been developed for use in high-performance nonwovens and in glass fi bre insulation.

Redispersible latex powderDOW™ Latex Powders are redispersible polymer powders that combine the performance benefi ts of liquid latex modifi ers with the convenience, reliability and handling/storage advantages of one-component dry systems.
They off er a variety of features and benefi ts for mineral-bound products, including:

Cool Refl ective Roof Coatings (CRRC)‘Cool roofs’ decrease the heat penetrating the building, ambient air temperatures are reduced and less energy is required for air-conditioning. Energy saving is not the only result: a durable Cool Refl ective Roof Coating can help protect the roof from environmental degradation, reduce eff ect of peak temperatures and therefore reduce mechanical stress, leading to an expanded life time for the roof. Dow Construction Chemicals has many years of experience in the development of eff ective roof coating binders specifi cally designed to enhance the performance properties critical for a long lasting roof coating: high elasticity for a good crack resistance, reliable adhesion to various substrates and resistance to UV radiation, dirt pick-up and water.
Fulfi lling all of these property requirements are vital for a durable roof coating. They derive from all-acrylic latex chemistry adapted to meet the specifi c needs of roof coatings.
