Grid Technology Interim gLite release process

• EGEE project finished on April 2010• EMI project started on May 2010• Until EMI (and EGI) are able to take care of the releases

there is a transition period where:– WLCG is the driving force behind the gLite releases until EMI takes

over– We will try to keep LCG and EMI related work as much aligned as

possible

• How long ?

– The first EMI release is scheduled for March-April 2011

• No final decision was taken

– From the SL4 roadmap http://www.scientificlinux.org/news/archive/roadmap-sl4 :• SL 4.0-4.8 : Obsolete in October 2010 • SL 4.9 : Minimal support (security only) until February 2012
