• RA = 14h 13m, DEC = - 65° 20’
• Seyfert type 2
• 4 × 106 M nucleus
• Distance ~4 Mpc ? 50 mas ~ 1 pc
• unresolved in MIR

Basic result:
•Unresolved core: 80 ... 60% of 8 ... 13 µm flux
•“Dust disk“: d ~ 0.6 pc, b:a = 1:3 (i = 66° ?), T = 240 K
Pdust = 3x1034 WPheat > 1035 W
but:PUV ~ 3x1034 W = 0.00004 PEdd
conclusionsPoints of Interest:
NGC1068: hot dust coincides with H20 masers+free-free emission
Warped disk; silicate absorption
Circinus: less hot dust; (less) warped disk; SiO4 abs
Others: little hot dust; optically thin(?); no SiO4 abs
