    protection)

Exhaust filterThese will need to be replaced fromtime to time to ensure that your vacuumcleaner performs efficiently.

  • en

    38

We recommend only using genuinedustbags, filters and accessorieswith the "Original Miele" logo onthem. This will ensure that the suction power of the vacuum cleaner ismaintained, giving the best possiblecleaning results.Dustbags with the "Original Miele"logo on them are not made from paper or paper-based materials andnor do they have a cardboard collar. This is why our dustbags are particularly long-lasting and reliable. Please note that appliance faults anddamage originating from the use ofaccessories which do not carry the"Original Miele" logo will not be covered by the appliance guarantee.

    Purchasing new dustbags and filters

Original Miele dustbags and filters canbe ordered from Miele, your Miele dealer or online at:

    Ordering the correct dustbags andfilters

Only use original Miele K/K dustbagswith a yellow collar and original Mielefilters. These are identified by the "Original Miele" logo on the packaging or directly on the dustbag.

An Air Clean filter and a dust compartment filter are supplied with everypacket of Miele dustbags.

These can also be purchased separately from your Miele Dealer, from Miele orfrom the online shop. Please quote themodel number of your vacuum cleanerwhen ordering to make sure you get thecorrect filter.

When to change the dustbag (dia. 20)

Miele dustbags are disposable anddesigned for single use only. Dispose of the dustbag when full. Donot attempt to reuse. Blocked poresin used dustbags will reduce thesuction power of the vacuum cleaner.

To check the dustbag change indicator

Attach the standard adjustable floorhead to the vacuum cleaner.

Switch the vacuum cleaner on andselect the highest power setting.

Lift the floorhead off the floor a little.

  • en

    39

    How the dustbag change indicatorworks

The dustbag change indicator is set fornormal household dust. This generallycontains a mixture of dust, hair, threads, carpet fluff, grit etc.

However, if the cleaner has been usedto vacuum up fine dust, such as plaster, brick dust, cement or flour, the pores ofthe dustbag will become blocked veryquickly. This affects the air permeability of thebag, and the marker will indicate thatthe bag is "full" even when it is not. Ifthis happens you must still change thedustbag because suction power will begreatly reduced by blocked pores in thedustbag.

If, on the other hand, a large amount ofhair and carpet fluff which typically contains a lot of air is vacuumed up, the indicator may fail to react even thoughthe bag is full. You should still changeit. Both these extremes can occur.

    How to replace the dustbag(dia. 21, 22 + 23)

Press the dust compartment releasecatch and raise the lid.

Holding the bag by the collar, lift itaway from the suction socket andthen pull it out of its holder.

The dustbag has a closing flap whichcloses automatically when the dustbagis removed from the vacuum cleaner toprevent any dust escaping.

Fit the new dustbag into the yellowholder as far as it will go. Leave it folded up when you take it out of thebox.

It should be unfolded as far as possible in the dust compartment.

Close the dust compartment lid securely, making sure it clicks into position. Take care not to trap the dustbag when doing so.

The lid will not close without adustbag in place. Do not force it!

When to change the dust compartment filter (for motor protection)

Replace this filter every time you start anew packet of dustbags. A dust compartment filter is supplied with everypacket of Miele dustbags.

How to change the dust compartment filter (dia. 24)

Open the dust compartment lid. Unclip the yellow filter frame, remo

ve the old filter and replace with anew one.

    Problem solving guide

    Problem Cause and remedy

    The vacuum cleanerswitches off automatically.

A temperature limiter switches the vacuum cleaner offautomatically if it gets too hot. This can occur if, for instance, large articles block thesuction tube or when the dustbag is full or containsparticles of fine dust. A heavily soiled exhaust or dustcompartment filter can also be the cause of overheating. Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the

electrical supply for maintenance work and forcleaning. Switch off at the wall socket and unplugit.

After removing the cause, wait for approximately 20 -30 minutes to allow the vacuum cleaner to cooldown. It can then be switched on again.
