discrimination. Healthcare service delivery should be of highest quality

and provided free of cost, with respect and dignity.

ABOUT SIUT NORTH AMERICA

Established in 2000, SIUT North America, is a charitable organization

under Section 501(c)(3), is dedicated to health-related humanitarian

causes, with our major focus on helping Sindh Institute of Urology and

Transplantation (SIUT) Pakistan secure necessary funds for medicines,

treatments and equipment so that patients are treated free of charge

and without discrimination. SIUT North America also helps

organizations in the U.S.A. through voluntary services and donations.

SIUT FUNDRAISER GALA 2019 - HOUSTON

SIUT NA hosted an impressive Fundraiser Gala in Houston Texas on November 8, 2019. It was attended by

over 600 guests which included community leaders, physicians, businessmen, professionals and admirers of Dr.

Adibul Hasan Rizvi. They were received and welcomed by gala organizer Mian Nazir and volunteers.

The crowd was entertained with the melodious musical sound of flute and snacks, while in the foyer, after

which the guests were seated in an attractive Reception Hall. The hall was beautifully decorated under the

supervision of one of the efficient gala organizers, Saeed Sheikh. The program was opened by Saeed Sheikh

and conducted by eloquent Dr. Shama Rashid. The initiation was with the Tilawat of Sura Ar Rehman followed

by the recitation of national anthems of Pakistan and USA.

The highlights of the event consisted of the special video message of appreciation given by Dr. Rizvi. The gala

chair, Haroon Shaikh, welcomed all the guests, specifically chief guest and special guests. He gave an overview

of the financials and stressed for transparency observed by SIUT North America. In her address, Dr. Fatima

Sayeed, President SIUT NA, briefly narrated the journey of SIUT NA in the past 18 years and invited all in the

audience to pool in their resources and join SIUT NA. She highlighted the vision of SIUT NA and its role in

extending its support to SIUT Pakistan and other health organizations locally in USA. Dr. Barkat Charania, a

board member of SIUT NA, gave an informative, to the point video presentation on the working and

achievements of SIUT Pakistan. Dr. Asaf Qadeer, a function organizer, then invited the chief guest, S. Javaid

Anwar to the stage who humbly delivered a keynote address. In his speech, he acknowledged the efforts of

SIUT Pakistan to provide free of cost healthcare to the needy patients. He graciously donated substantial

amount to SIUT NA and pledged his continued support for the future as well. The fundraising process was

actively initiated by Ghluam Bombaywala and Dr. Kashif Ansari, longtime supporters of SIUT NA. Beyond all

expectations, they helped to accumulate significant amount of funds from the philanthropist donors in the

audience. All contributions were received and accounted for by Qaisar Mahdi and volunteers. Two donated

pieces of art were auctioned off in return for good revenue.

Following the fundraising activity, a delicious food was arranged by a gala organizer, Tahir Bhatti, and served

by the courtesy of Aga’s Restaurant. The food was thoroughly enjoyed and hurriedly consumed by all the

participants in anticipation of their item next on agenda. Ghazanfar Hashmi, a friend of SIUT NA, introduced

the famous and popular writer and performer, Anwar Maqsood. He was invited to Houston specifically for this

event and this unique artist played his role by amusing the audience with his hilarious and witty presentation for

over an hour.

The program was successfully completed with a note of appreciation by gala organizer, Salman Razzaki. He

thanked all the sponsors, supporters and friends of SIUT NA.

We all at SIUT NA are thankful to Allah Almighty for bestowing his guidance, grace and mercy upon all of us.

Insha Allah we hope to continue and expand our project in the coming years.

SIUT FUNDRAISER 2019 – CONNECTICUT

A fund raising Iftar dinner was hosted by Rizwan Mumtaz, SIUT-NA Representative for NY, CT, MA and NJ states, on May 19, 2019.

In this event, attended by over 200 persons, more than twenty thousand dollars were raised.

Rizwan Mumtaz highlighted the legendary role being played by Dr. Adib Rizvi and his team. Over 2.2 million patients are treated annually, and over 900 dialysis being carried out daily. Over 400 liver transplants are also being done annually.

SIUT North America joined SIUT’s team from Pakistan and participated at the Annual 42nd APPNA

Fundraiser held in Orlando, Florida.
