WINTER
Winter can be a time of excitement It’s a new yeardays are getting longer againnew client contracts full of ideas, changes to make with ourselves, our work, our approach to lifenew beginnings
But what about all of those resolutions, goals and habits we’ve set forth to conquer, how are we doing there?
Its easy to identify what we want to change what needs to be improved or removed from our daily life
How does lasting change actually happen how do we recover when we really have started strong but then allowed time, old habits and those pesky excuses get in the way of success…

Ways to stimulate the senses in meeting rooms at this time of year:
+ use an invigorating clear scent with essential oils| citrus | lemon | mint | rosemary
+ bring in living trees, plants bushes what ever you can locally source – really oxygenate the rooms
+ pay attention to the timing and light: what's happening outside – is it dark, grey, cloudy, what time is sun up/down – can you AV company help with some colored uprights: orange, red, yellows to add some golden lights to invigorate
+ temperature and lack of humidity can be a killer to your vibe: check in on the heating, often times venues are un intentionally putting your attendees to sleep, literally by blasting heat – can a humidifier be added
+ consider more breaks or more intentional breaks were guests can move around, not feel rushed and get some fresh air | gentle stretch sessions can be incorporated | or just dance!

Are you breathing
Let’s talk about breathe and how this one part of us that we literally cannot live with out can have the greatest impact
It’s the oxygen mask theory…we have to remind ourselves over and over…
We are only good to others when we are good to ourselves
So lets start with our breath…and do it together
Tapping | Reiki | Intuitive Healers | The Powers of Touch | Massage
Ways to shake up your self care practices | Stimulate a new sense
DAILY RITUALS & RESOLUTIONS
CREATE THE BEST YEAR YET
…what about those long dark days & how to make the most of them and get inspired
Winter can be a time of excitement a new yeardays are getting longer againnew client contracts new goals full of ideas, changes to make with ourselves, our work, our approach to lifenew beginnings
Goals & Resolutions can sometimes feel like we’ve added more chores to the listThey feel like this impossible task we will get to later
But why later? Why not first?
What about flipping the script on yourself
Why not do the things that make you YOU – first
We often tell our selves, or literally convince ourselves to put aside the things we want to do or need to do to feel great
Instead chipping away at the dishes, laundry, the never ending ‘to-do’ lists
Try this instead: what if you put yourself first
Every day choose to start with YOU?
For the next week, wake up and before grabbing your phone, answering email, endlessly scrolling Instagram or Facebook
Try this instead: wake up and think to yourself….what would I do first if I had one hour of uninterrupted time, all to myself this morning?
These don’t need to be crazy or over the top, but chances are you need some simple, just for you rituals, daily nuggets
Now write that down…mine goes like this:
+ make a delicious smoothie+ meet a friend for a sunrise hike+ go to yoga +sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz+ drink coffee for an hour while reading the paper+ take a bubble bath with music+ ….what are yours?
By starting small with attainable rituals, morning goals, quick wins can happen fast
Often we crate huge, lifestyle changing goals and resolutions that can’t possibly all happen at once
We expect to be able to switch off our old way, switch on our new habits and just get them accomplished ‘hello a-types!’
As we all know this leads to set backs, disappointment, frustration and generally makes us all secretly hate the fact that we are not making progress or achieving anything
I like to throw myself a good old pity party at this point (enter the tequila) and really ensure I burn down any chance of ever really making any changes because, well change is hard
But it really doesn’t have to be, break it down, start gradually, be gentle, be kind to yourself & be aware
Building in time for you in between (LIFE) to breathe
Book space for bio breaks, water, nourishment, silence to think
Take a moment for your self and observe yourself = body scan
Ask yourself:…am I breathing?…where is there tension in my body?….what is coming up for me here?…where am I losing control or power in this situation?
Observation is often an overlook tool or step we can take to really look at how the environment people or situation around us is impacting us
This doesn’t need to be heavy or too deep here, just a simple step back to take notice, recognize the current symptom or reaction can help navigate in future to be ready for anything
