Introduction

This in-house Mindfulness Training programme has been carefully designed by specialists to promote well-being, and reduce the impact of life’s challenges by self-resourcing people with the tools to make life easier on the ‘inside’. We often can’t prevent difficult situations from arising, but we can change the way we think, feel and react to them. The stress a customer service operative feels dealing with complaints is much the same as the stress felt by a Managing Director who’s short-staffed and up against a client deadline. Stress is stress no matter who you are or what you do. It can be extremely divisive yet it connects us all. The programme is jam-packed with some of the tools and practices you might expect, as well as cutting-edge approaches that have the power to transform workplaces.

Programme Content

Morning Session Mindfulness & The Inner Wellbeing Process The programme starts by taking learners through a journey. By the end we understand what success feels like for us as individuals and what prevents us from achieving these feelings daily. At the end of the journey delegates have a take-home reminder of the energy we’re often left with after the difficulties, niggles and challenges of a typical day without the art of mindfulness. We then step through, with plenty of time for exploration and practice, a number of tools and techniques to help us be better equipped at dealing with challenging situations, to markedly improve relationships (at work and at home!) and improve (or maintain) our wellbeing. These include: Mindfulness

What is it, how does it work and how can we benefit from its use? Mindfulness also encompasses self-awareness, in particular recognising when and how thought leads to stories, emotions and distorted perceptions.

Checking In ‘Checking in` is a way of getting in touch with how you are feeling. As we get better at checking in we can start taking actions and make decisions that better support our personal integrity.

Intention Setting How to use our own inner Sat-Nav to influence our direction and the destination of our day, including techniques to manage the negative chatter that can so often distract us from our intentions.

Creating an Attitude of Gratitude Research has shown people who have a mind-set of gratitude are 25% happier and more optimistic. Attendees explore the topic in relation to their own private and working lives and learn how they can harness gratitude to improve their own sense of wellbeing.

Afternoon Session Mindful Communication Using The Core Value Approach Imagine an organisation where people took ownership of tasks, responsibility for their actions, communicated clearly with each other about their needs or frustrations, asked for help when they needed it and truly listened to each other. Well, in this part of the workshop we introduce The Core Value Approach and explore in detail how coupling this life-changing communication approach with mindfulness can help us move towards achieving just that.

The Trap of The Relationship Triangle Thought a series of poignant exercises, we come to realise how often we operate from within The Triangle which is made up of Persecutor, Rescuer and Victim behaviours and the impact this has on relationships with ourselves and other people.

The Integrity Line We need to cross the metaphorical ‘Integrity Line’ in order to step out of the destructive Relationship Triangle. But how often do we check-in with ourselves and understand what integrity means to us and where our personal boundaries are?

The Core Values Approach (CVA) The Core Values Approach (CVA) helps us to change the way in which we respond to people, situations or events. This highly pragmatic tool has been described as a ‘gift’ that can put us back in control of life, take a huge weight off our shoulders and support us to better build healthy personal and professional lives, using clearer communication.

Personal Integrity: Is about defining your boundaries and making choices and decisions that better support yourself and your needs.

Personal Responsibility: Is about taking action that support your personal integrity & being responsible for your thoughts, emotions, feelings, actions & responses.

Authenticity: Is about being honest in your communication about how you are feeling and expressing what your needs are as clearly as you can.

Equal Dignity: Is about understanding everyone's opinion matters. It's being interested, curious and respectful of the other, seeing, hearing and valuing them.

The Value of Meditation Attendees experience a guided meditation called Soul Sync to understand the technique and how the use of daily, short meditation can help us to more mindful and set our intentions for the day

Who Should Attend? Everyone! Whatever their role or level of responsibility, we are all exposed to day to day stresses and challenges within the workplace.

Programme Style

This high energy Mindfulness Training programme is 75% experiential learning activity supported by group discussions, trainer input and specifically created video clips. The focus is very much on the attendee and can include specific workplace challenges as required. Learners are provided with a personal Journal to capture notes and to use for exercises. Copies of slides and trainer input will be incorporated within the Journal.

Options

Consecutive or Non-Consecutive To experience the whole programme learners must invest just one day. However, because we appreciate the challenges of taking people off the job for a full day at a time, it has been designed to run as 2 x half day sessions on consecutive or non-consecutive days, to suit.

e-Learning We also have an hour’s e-learning programme with 2 hours reflective practice which can introduce learners to key concepts ahead of the training or be used to keep the learning alive post-programme.
