Shri.Abheraj Hirachand Baldota, eminent industrialist, environmentalist, banker and

economist, is considered one of the architects of free Indi&s industrial development and

modernisation. Born on August 01, 1916 in Urlikanchan, Dist. of Pune (Maharashtra)

to late Shri. Hirachand Mokamdas Baldota and late Smt.Jasodabai Hirachand Baldota,

he made the country proud through his stead fast adherence to a vision for his country;

which he loved immensely.

The future depends on what we do in the present.

An Arts Graduate from St. Xavier’s College and Law Graduate fromGovernment Law College, Mumbai, he started practicing law in the

Mumbai High Court in 1943. He was known as Metal King as his firm

Baldota Bros. was the largest importer of non-ferrous metals in India.

He subsequently successfully ventured into the industrial arena with

the establishment of various industries such as textile, plastic,fire-fighting foam compound and mining.

He was amongst the earliest exponents of free enterprise in India.

In 1952, he founded and chaired the Greater Bombay Co-operativeBank Ltd., which is the leading Co-operative Bank in Maharashtra.

The Government of Maharashtra had honoured him with the title,

“Justice of Peace”. He had the distinction of being the Chairman of

several institutions during his lifetime such as Bombay MetalExchange Ltd, Akhil Bhartiya Jam Svetambar Conference. He was also

awarded the National Safety Award in 1989 from the hands of the then

President of India, Hon’ble Shri. R. Venkatraman. He was the doyen of

mining industry.

With his foresight and vision, he has built up a work force known for

its dedication and sincerity. Shri. Abheraj H. Baldota was a Gandhianresponding to many noble causes and making large donations to

various institutions. His interest in the educational field is no less and

Jie laid the foundations of a number of educational institutions. He wasa philanthropist always ready to help public causes and ever ready tohelp anybody in any sphere of life with an enduring smile. He was amulti-faceted personality and a true Gandhian who spread the message

of Trusteeship. He was a guide and philosopher to every person who

came in his contact. He was a builder of institutions and a great man ofvision. Above all, he was a patriot who had enormous courage to stand Sup for what he firmly believed to be in the interest of the country.

Shri. Abheraj Baldota was known for his innovative and forward

thinking initiatives both as an industrialist as well as a philanthropist.

In deed the country, on the demise of Shri. Abheraj Baldota, has lost aworld ranking and respected entrepreneur possessing immense vision

and determined dynamism.

Our salute to the departed legend who has carved the future for the

setting up of a very robust value system.

MSPL is the proud recipient of the award for the “Highest Investment” in the fieldof Renewable Energy for the year 2004-2005 instituted by Govt. of Karnataka.On the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Divas Celebrations,Sri. Rahul N. Baidota, Executive Director, Baldota Group ofcompanies received theaward from Shri. H. K. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs,Govt. OfKarnataica on 20th August 05.

The award consists of a Silver Plaque and Certificate of appreciation by theGovernment of Karnataka, Dept. Of Energy; and Karnataka Renewable EnergyDevelopment Corporation Limited (KREDL).

The award was given by SM. H. K. Patti. Hon’ble Minister for Law & Affairs.Govt. of Kamataka to. Shri. Rahul N. Baldota, Executive Director, MSPL Limited.

MSPL Limited along with its sister concerns has the unique distinction of being“India’s Largest Wind Energy Producer”. The company has invested Rs. 460 Crores forproducing 105 MW of wind energy during the year 2004-05. So far the company hasinvested Rs. 650 Crores in the wind energy sector for producing 135 MW energy.

MSPL Limited is planning to expand its wind farms at Dhule in Maharashtra State andKappadagudda Hills in Gadag District ofKarnataka.

MSPL Exports a 100% Export Oriented Unit of Baldota

Group was inaugurated by Shri. Narendrakumar A. Baldota,

CMD, MSPL Limited on 1 June, 2005. The unit has been

approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry,

Government of India under the special scheme as envisaged

in Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. The plant is commissioned

with Crushing, Screening, and Washing facility at Ingaligi

Village, Hospet Taluk. The entire unit is environmental

friendly with dust covers and noise control. The plant will

produce high value products like High Grade and Medium

Grade Calibrated Sinter Fines and Lump Ore, High Grade

Calibrated Lump Ore for DRI, Super High Grade Concentrate,

High Density Proctor Aggregates and Special Weighting

Agent for Export Purpose.

5 JUNE 2005MSPL Limited joined the rest of the world in celebrating the World Environment Dayon 6th June 2005. Shri. M. Sivadass, Secretary, T. B. Board, Shri. S. S. Hiremath,Dy. Director, Mines & Geology and Dr. Balaraju, BEO were the guests on the occasion.Shri. Meda Venkataiah, Executive Director (Mining) presided over the function.The company for the 6 consecutive year has undertaken Afforestation program intheir facilities by involving school children to mark the occasion and thereby spreadawareness on Ecology and Pollution Control measures in the young minds of the futuregeneration. The company had so far planted and nurtured nearly 1.6 Mfflion Trees ofvarious species in Vyasanakere Mines, MSPL Exports, PVS Mines and RMMPL.As a part of the celebrations, Drawing and Essay Competition on Environment andPollution were conducted for Sthool Children and prizes were distributed.

We have entered into contract with SteelAuthority of India Ltd.(SAIL) to set up 50 TPDOxygen Plant on Build Own and Operate (BOO)basis for a period of 15 years for their Unit:Vishveswaraya Iron and Steel Ltd., Bhadravathi.Mr. H. April 2005Mr. A.M.M. Veerabhadraiah is a Tam Rock Operator. He merits recognitionfor his timely action and self initiation in protecting the property of thecompany. On the 13°’ of April 2005, a fire broke out in a Tam Rock DrillingMachine. Mr. Veerabhadraiah immediately alerted the AMM and made allefforts to successfully control the fire to a great extent. His initiation savedthe costly parts of the machine from heavy damage.He ii~iThonest, sincere, obedient and punctual employee. He takes goodcare of the machines as well the en(rironment.

A senior welder, Mr. 0.8 Honurappa merits recognition for his extraordinarywork in attending to a VAYU Excavator Bucket Mounting Cooler. It was duringthis month whildthe Volvo Excavator was working at Ingaligi, that the bucketmounting cooler broke down. But this cooler was not available withMJs.Volvo.However, Mr. Honurappa successfully repaired the cooler in our ownworkshop and not only saved time and money but also increased theavailability of the working hours of the machine

A Tachnician in P/L Section merits recognition for his excellent work andpresence of mind during working hours when the HM 7 loader stopped dueto engine failure. It was found that the pistons were seized. While cleaningthe engine block Mr. B. K. Shanmuga observed the hairline crack in boreand reported it immediately to the higher officers. This matter was thennegotiated with the MIs. Ashok Leyland and they have agreed to replacethe existing engine block on the ground of manufacturing defect.His observation and communication to the higher officers in time not onlysaved further loss to the machine but also saved costs to the extent of

A Marilingappa and Suresh Koli made the HSD tankermeasuring 2600 ltrs capacity by using old dented tankcollected from the scrap yard. The tank was given toIngaligi Plant for use. They have saved a cost ofapproximately Re. 60,000 to the company. They arevery sincere and honest in their work.
