BENEDICTION
“Holy, Holy, Holy”
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Who wert, and art, and evermore shall be.
Holy, holy, holy! tho' the darkness hide Thee, Tho' the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea
Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
On next Sunday, November 27, 2016, Reverend Lynda Brown-Hall will be preaching at Deanwood Rehabilitation Center, 5000 Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20019, departing MSBC at 9:30 a.m.

Reverend Cynthia Parker-Bolden, D.Min.Sermon Subject- “Praising the God We Trust”
Sermon Text- Psalm 146
MINISTER’S OUTLINE
Introduction
The Book of Psalms served as the temple hymnbook and devotional guide for the Jewish people. It was set to the accompaniment of stringed instruments. The 150 songs in Psalms explore the full range of human experience in a very personal and practical way. The message of Psalms is timeless and Psalm 146 speaks to the current climate in America. Don’t be discouraged by what’s going on…..continue Praising the God We Trust!!
The points we will cover are:
I. Praise the LORD (verses 1 & 2)
II. Trust the LORD (verses 3 – 6)
III. Rewards of the LORD (verses 7 – 10)
Conclusion
Because of Christ, we are assured of greater promises than the Old Testament believers. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path”. (Proverbs 3:5, 6) Praising the God We Trust will provide a sweet aroma in the nostrils of God and give us added strength for our journey. Do not look at things which are seen or trust in man, because things which are seen are temporary, but things which are not seen are eternal. Let everything that hath breath, Praise the LORD!!
Sermon TextPsalm 146 (NIV)
Praise the LORD. 1 Praise the LORD, my soul. 2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. 3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. 4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. 5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God. 6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—he remains faithful forever. 7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, 8 the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. 9 The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. 10 The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the LORD.
