The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence that, as He says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. Our Lord invites to this special meal for all who trust in His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that they may celebrate His resurrection and live their lives led by the Holy Spirit until He comes again to establish His new heaven and earth.

Grace as embarked on a 31-week journey through the story of God together. From Genesis through Revelation, we are inviting you to join us!
We will be using a guide called The Story that will lead us through the Bible and the major points of God’s plan of redeeming grace that is ultimately delivered to us through Jesus Christ.One of the most important opportunities of engagement is with a Life Group. Life Groups are small groups that meet in homes, restaurants, or wherever they desire. Life Groups set their own schedules of meeting times. There are existing Life Groups that you are invited to explore. We also want to encourage the formation of new Life Groups at Grace. • Would you be willing to lead a group? You don’t have to be a Bible expert!• Would you be willing to host a Life Group? Just some hospitality and some chairs are all that is required!Questions? Town Hall MeetingIn fulfillment of the Administrative Council promise to update the congregation on progress with the budget vs. performance and to facilitate an update on the T-Mobile lease and other matters that may arise, the congregation is being invited to participate in a meeting on Sunday September 16th at 10:45AM in the multipurpose room.
Senior Pastor Transition UpdateA special Voters meeting will be held on Sunday September 23 at 12 Noon in the Sanctuary; the purpose of that meeting will be to consider a recommendation from the Board of Elders to call a new Senior Pastor for Grace Lutheran Church and Christian Schools.The actual call to a new Senior Pastor takes place by a vote of the congregation as they consider the recommendation of the Elders. Only voting members of Grace Congregation are eligible to cast votes for the call; Grace’s constitution defines the requirements for voting members, and establishes the voting process for a Call Meeting. All who attend Grace are also welcome at the meeting to understand the proceedings, even if not eligible to vote. If you would like to verify your membership status, and determine your eligibility to vote at the meeting, Administrative Council Secretary, Monty Miani will be in the Welcome Center between all three services on Sunday September 16 to assist you. Or you may stop by the Church Office next week and receive the same information from Yoke Tanko, Office Manager.
Women’s Bible Study Thursday MorningsLadies, we invite you and your friends to join us Thursday mornings at 8:30 in the multipurpose room. We will be reading The Story along with enjoying each other in Christian fellowship. This Bible study is led by Pastor Michelle Quezada and has been a favorite with many ladies. Bring a friend and a cup of coffe and join us on Thursday mornings! (Keurig provided too)

Project Godway- Help us share the Good News about Jesus!In order to continue to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to offer this unique program free of charge to middle school girls and their families, the Project Godway High School Leadership Team will be working hard to raise funds for our spring season and our discipleship program. Starting with a..... GARAGE SALE!!!! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13TH! You can help by donating items for us to sell or coming out to shop - 2093 Woodland Heights Glen Escondido, CA . Items can be dropped at church office with Yoke or call/text Amy for pickup 619-957-5505. Thanks to the generous donations from everyone, the Garage sale has been one of our biggest fundraisers the past two years! We pray that the Lord will bless our endeavors once again.
Confirmation and Quinceañera Class This class is for non-grade school confirmation students and those expecting to celebrate their quinceañera in the upcoming months. Although the first class will be an orientation class on September 9, interested students may begin on September 30. On September 30, we will begin a four week focus of the class for children preparing to have their first communion. After communion, this class will focus on confirmation. As usual all are welcome to attend all classes. After completing confirmation we continue the class throughout the summer, focusing on Bible heroes and spiritual gifts. These classes are geared towards youth in grades 5-9, although closely related ages are welcomed. Illinois High School Graduate Needs a Place to Stay While Attending Palomar College. A family from Rochelle Illinois is reaching out to Grace for some help. Their 18-year-old son just graduated from high school and is attending Palomar College. He will need a place to stay starting in October and will have his own car. His parents are looking for a caring family to welcome him in. From his parents: Eli is 18 and an Honors student and graduated with over 500 Silver Chord hours for service in the community. He played soccer until making the decision to focus on his commitment to his position on the School’s top Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Midnight Voices and the RTHS Speech Team.
