Konkkraft or Top-leader forum
• Background: Maturing NCS - new challenges - need for new modes of co-operation
• Introduced in September 2000.
• Consists of approximately 20 top-executives from the oil-companies, supply industry, labour organisations and authorities.
• Mandate: Strengthen the competitiveness of the NCS and the Norwegian petroleum industry internationally.

What are the tasks of the Forum:
• Forum to discuss general issues relevant to the whole petroleum industry
• Not to duplicate other initiatives• Concentrate on issues that can be of common interest
- avoid matters of conflict• Ensure a more effective NCS• Ensure more value creation on the NCS• Ensure greater international competitiveness • Be a driver for the petroleum cluster as a whole to
improve

• Work with concrete questions of relevance to the petroleum cluster as a whole
• Recommendation to be implemented, not only discussed
• The idea of the petroleum cluster regularly discussing and implementing matters of commom interest is fundamental as a succes factor for the cluster

Projects: Competence and Communication
• Unites all players involved in oil and gas activities in a common effort aimed at students, parents and schools.
• Mandate: To make sure that the oil and gas industry appears as attractive to young people in order to secure qualified and continuos recruitment.
• Method: Informative communication concerning the significance and time perspective of the oil and gas industry.
• Surveys future need for recruitment to the industry

Other Initiatives: Environment - Miljøsok
• Aim: Develop more effective co-operation between the authorities and the oil and gas industry in solving the most important environmental challenges. Initiated in 1995
• Consists of high level representatives from industry, authorities, research institutions, environmental organisations and other relevant bodies.
• Represents a unique initiative, both nationally and internationally, by relevant stakeholders co-operating on identifying environmental challenges and seeking broad-based solutions.
• Results: two comprehensive reports on environmental challenges facing the petroleum sector.

Other Initiatives - Safety Forum
• Current safety and working environment issues are discussed, activities initiated and followed up.
• Facilitates positive co-operation between the parties in the industry and the authorities.
• Matters that fall within the NPD area of jurisdiction (not tariff agreements or other civil law agreements)
• Reference group for projects such as White Paper on Safety, NPD’s project ”Risk level – Norwegian Shelf”, OLF’s ”Co-operation about safety etc.
