Description The study combines a Wesleyan understanding of our growth in God’s love and grace with the time-tested practices of spiritual discipline expressed in the membership vows to uphold the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Participants will develop spiritual practices, discover their unique gifts, and become engaged in ministry that brings transformation in their own lives, the lives of others, and the world.

Presenting Christianity from a Wesleyan perspective, Jones invites participants into a deeper, more thoughtful, more active commitment to Christ. Participants focus on how, through discipleship with Jesus Christ, we become part of God’s work in transforming the world. Each week a different presenter shares their personal faith experience. Participants then read on their own from the student book and the Bible and then once a week the group comes together to explore what they’ve read and to view another video.

Journey 101: Knowing, Loving, Serving God is a three-part basic faith course that helps to answer essential questions as it guides participants on the journey of growing as a Christian. The goal? Becoming a deeply committed follower of Jesus Christ. The three studies are grounded in 15 core traits of a deeply committed Christian—traits that paint a picture of what it looks like to follow Jesus Christ with increasing passion and dedication. The three studies can be led at any time in any order.

Listen, by Rueben P. Job, is a 40-day prayer journey that guides individuals, groups, and congregations in learning how to listen for, understand, and follow God’s guidance and direction. Ideal for use during Lent or any time of year, this study invites participants to use the Listen prayer guide on their own throughout the week and then come together once a week to watch a video, discuss and share what they are learning, and practice prayer together. The prayer guide includes six specific prayer practices or habits, a daily prayer pattern for each week, daily Scriptures from the CEB, a weekly story or reflection, thought-provoking quotations, and journaling pages. Ideas for using Listen in a churchwide emphasis on prayer are also included.

Dare to Dream is a startling and inspiring new program by popular author and pastor Mike Slaughter that draws on the Bible and a lifetime of ministry to help us discern God’s dream for us and learn to live it out, prayerfully and enthusiastically. Participants will learn how to develop a life mission statement that helps them fully commit to a God-directed lifestyle.

In this updated edition of Serving from the Heart, church members will take a 6-session journey of self-discovery as they learn more about how the body of Christ is intended to function, and what that means to each person. This study (also workable in 7 Sunday school sessions) leads adults through assessing their spiritual gifts, talents and abilities, resources, individual style, dreams, and experiences…all adding up to an enhanced capacity to serve God and neighbor.

In an engaging and compelling style, Rob Renfroe reminds us that the Christian life requires commitment to both truth and grace. Readers will examine the essentials about truth and grace, understand the differences between a cultural worldview and a scriptural worldview, and discover how to be instruments of real influence and transformation in our time by following Jesus’ example. The author invites readers to hold onto the truth with all their might while at the same time reaching out an open hand to persons who disagree.

This set of three six-session small- group experiences covers three relevant and intriguing ideas: Six Decisions That Will Change Your Life; Six Things We Should Know about God; and Six Ways We Encounter God. The content is basic with a push toward personal insight and compelling discussion all leading back to the individual’s relationship with God. Each study is a stand-alone study that may be done at any time, with or without the other two studies in the series.

This series of six-session programs for the whole church family is designed to bring all ages together for dinner, fellowship, study, and engage with the Pastor or Small-Group Leader in conversation about key stories of the Bible.

Volume 1 presents the stories of Creation, The Fall, The Flood, Father Abraham, Ten Words, and The Great Commandment.

Volume 2 presents the stories of The Beatitudes, The Least of These, The Great Commission, The Last Supper, Crucifixion, and Resurrection.

Description Join Adam Hamilton for a six-week journey as he travels to England, following the life of John Wesley and exploring the defining characteristics of a Wesleyan Christian. Wesley’s message and his faith continue to speak to twenty-first-century Christians—calling for a revival of our hearts and souls so that our world might be changed.

Journey with Adam Hamilton as he travels from Nazareth to Bethlehem in this fascinating look at the birth of Jesus Christ. Using historical information, archaeological data, and a personal look at some of the stories surrounding the birth, the most amazing moment in history will become more real and heartfelt as you walk along this road.

Travel with Adam Hamilton as he retraces the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Using historical information, archaeological data, and stories of the faith, Hamilton follows in the footsteps of Jesus from his baptism to the temptations to the heart of his ministry, including the people he loved, the parables he taught, the enemies he made, and the healing he brought.

No single event in human history has received more attention than the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. Travel with Adam Hamilton to the Holy Land as he guides us through the last twenty-four hours of Jesus’ life. Each chapter is designed to help us experience and understand the significance of Jesus’ suffering and death in a way we have never done before.

In life and in death, Jesus’ words were powerful and meaningful. Despite the serious effort and increased pain required for Jesus to speak as he hung on the cross, Jesus spoke seven “final words”—statements that have much to teach us about Jesus, God, and ourselves. Hamilton explores these final words as seen and heard through the eyes and ears of those who stood near the cross.

In this book, Hamilton explores how, with God’s help, we can make love last. Drawing upon a survey of thousands of couples and singles, interviews with relationship and marriage therapists, the latest research in the field, and wisdom from the Bible, Hamilton looks at what it takes to create and sustain healthy, meaningful romantic relationships across the course of a lifetime.

In Why?, Hamilton brings fresh insight to the age-old question of how to understand the will of God. Rejecting simplistic answers and unexamined assumptions, he lays out core ideas for comprehending God’s plan for the world.

Type of Study In-Depth Bible Study In-Depth Bible Study In-Depth Bible Study Bible and Life Bible and Life

Publication Date

March 2014 August 2013 February 2013 September 2013 August 2012

Description The second study by Jessica LaGrone traces the story of the Genesis family from Adam and Eve to Joseph. This study uncovers how God brings blessing from brokenness. Despite bad decisions, pain, and disappointment, God worked for good in every generation—determined to transform those within and outside the family. This study allows us to explore how God can use our own imperfect families to bring blessing in a hurting and broken world.

Help women discover balance at every age and stage of life by confronting the daily chaos of competing demands from a new perspective. Using chapter three of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians as a biblical foundation, the study identifies barriers to balanced living and explores what the Bible teaches about Christ-centered living.

Explore the transformational power of God through the stories of biblical characters who met God and whose lives and names were changed forever. As you meet Abraham and Sarah, Jacob, Naomi, Daniel, Peter, and the unnamed woman, you will discover that God wants to be just as intimately involved in your story, offering an identity that shines with the purpose for which you were created.

Examine your personal relationship with God, make up your mind to believe God’s Word, regardless of your feelings or circumstances, and take hold of some non-negotiable principles of the faith. Whether you are wrestling with questions or fears; struggling in your relationships; or facing a health, financial, or other crisis, these principles will enable you to trust God with your doubts, cease your wavering, and drive a spiritual stake of faith in the ground.

Every woman longs to know she is loved, accepted, and valued. Yet many women struggle to understand and accept just how much God really loves them. Drawing upon her own personal journey to understand how very much God loves her not as a singer or teacher but as God’s beloved daughter, contemporary gospel singer Babbie Mason equips women to accept God's unfailing love as they understand and claim biblical promises.
