REVERSING FORTUNE IN APRIL: In four April starts, Pelfrey went 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA (24.0 IP, 6 ER), the second lowest mark in April of his nine-year big league career, with nine walks and 15 strikeouts...it was his first winning opening month since 2010 when he led the majors and tied a Mets franchise record (Nolan Ryan - 1970) with a 0.69 ERA (26.0 IP, 2 ER) in five apperances (four starts)...in Pelfrey's previous two April's in a Twins uniform, he went 2-5 with a 7.50 ERA (42.0 IP, 35 ER), 22 walks and 15 strikeouts in nine starts...Pelfrey is 13-11, 4.94 ERA (191.1 IP, 105 ER) with 87 walks and 100 strikeouts in 36 career starts and 37 appearances in April.

CENTRAL ENEMY: All five of Pelfrey's starts this year have come against AL Central op-poents (one against each team, two against Chicago-AL)...he is 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA (27.1 IP, 8 ER), 11 walks and 16 strikeouts...in his previous 19 career starts against the AL Central prior this season, Pelfrey went 4-9 with a 5.24 ERA (99.2 IP, 58 ER), 41 walks and 62 strikeouts, and had won just once in his final 13 of those 19 starts...Pelfrey has tossed eight quality starts in 23 career outings against AL Central competition, and two have come in his most recent three starts.
