This is a case of mining of Stone / Boulder in an area of 0.99 hectare with production

capacity to the tune of 12000 m3 / Year. The case was forwarded by SEIAA to SEAC for

consideration in the SEAC meeting. It was informed by the PP that lease has already been

granted for a period of 05 years but not yet in operation.

Thus as per the policy of SEIAA the project was considered as category B1 accordingly

PP was informed that EIA study has to be conducted and TOR shall be issued for the same.

PP submitted that he is not capable to carry out EIA presently and thus requested the

committee to hold the case till further review of the policy from SEIAA. Committee

considered the request of PP and decided to defer the case till further submission from the PP

but maximum for period of 01 month after which the case shall be returned to SEIAA for

delisting.

Neither the Project proponents nor their representatives of following Projects were present

to explain the query which might be raised or to make any commitment which may be

desired by the committee during the deliberation. Committee decided to call these

proponents in coming meetings as per turn.

The project pertains to mining of Sand in an area of 4.250 hectare and productioncapacity to the tune of 24000 m3 per year. It was reported by the PP that the sand quarry hasbeen allotted to them for a period of 02 years. The project falls under category B-2 as perthe policy decided by SEIAA. PP has submitted the information in the prescribed format-1duly verified by the DFO and the Tehsildar. EM Scheme has also been submitted by thePP.

After deliberations on salient features of the project and the EMP suggested by the PPcommittee has decided to recommend the case for grant of prior EC subject to thefollowing conditions:

1. PP shall be responsible for any discrepancy (if any) in the submissions made by thePP to SEAC & SEIAA.

2. Water body shall be developed as a ghat with appropriate fencing for safe andsmooth use by the local residents.
