IIugc pilc olrl,'aste is accumulated along thc dor, vnhill side olroacl close

Adimall' Granra I)anchavat alor-ig has initiated r,'arious steps to pre\,cltt

illegal durrpir-rg of sr:ch rvaste in these area thro-ugh campaigns ancl

nurnbers of spots are identified as visible areas of nvaste duntping alongtire route fiom Neriar-nangalam to Adirnaly. Out of which 3 spots are

idcntified as higl"r prone areas of waste durnping (viz Cheeyapara, Valara

and Cliakkochi valavr-r). Other spots are of rnoderate quantity contpared tothese critical spots. It is extrernel_v difficult to rneasLrrc the quantitl, ofr:r,astc accunrulatcd in this area since all the waste is dr-rrnped into the

dorvnl-rill sicle o1'tire road r.i,hich is not i:asily accessible duc to stccp slope

in the critical spots. Based visr-ral erssessment it is cstirlated tliat 300-350tonnes of waste is accumulated over the entirc fbrest area" There are

chances of finding historic dumps happened over a long period of tinrebeneath the visible pile of u,aste and accounting the volume of soil and

other debris generated u,hile removing the rvaste fiom the forcst (25920

Disposal PlanThe proposal is to manage/disposc the accumr-rlatecl llaste in the lorest

area at various spots identified in three phases.
