A shaman is a wise human being (SHA is wisdom, MAN is human being). A being of exceptional abilities. A harmoniser, healer and also a priest-musician. Shamans have been known by different names in different times and cultures. And many of those names are rooted in the ancient Vedic word VIDYA, meaning to see. To see in the correct way, to even see the invisible and hear the inaudible, and to carry the two over into the material tangible world, into the visible and the audible. Let us use the term shaman for all wise harmonisers in the world. When musicians seek the perfection of sound, they are increasingly becoming shamans – wise human beings, who simply see, hear, know, and touch the highest levels of the Reality. The Divine Source of life.

Decades ago, the ethnologist Mira Omerzel - Mirit, Ph.D., broadened her field of interests to include the spiritual spheres of various cultures. Over the last 25 years, her research, work, and musical performance have become fully anchored in her practical sound-energy revival of the ancient wisdoms of various cultures. At the time of the Spring Equinox 2020, Mirit, a healer, spiritual teacher, cosmic telepath and medium, will, together with her son Tine and her musical colleagues, stage a concert for the eye and the ear. This concert will feature forgotten ancient musical instruments, musical languages, sound patterns, and codes of our planetary ancestors from all continents; of ancient shamans, priest-musicians and healers, who – from prehistory onwards – healed and harmonised the world with energy and sound in different or indeed very similar ways. At this unique concert, the musicians of the Vedun Ensemble – contemporary shaman-healers, veduns – will, using both old and contemporary musical instruments and the musical practices of the world, create shamanic meditative and harmonising sounds to lead the audience into timelessness: into the eternal echo of the human soul.
