Chapter IA MIRACLE MINISTRY

"Anything that pertains to a person's physical bodygetting well is healing. Anything else is confusing."

The above statement is the exact words which weregiven to me last night in a dream. Just as I spoke thesewords I awoke! Then at 5 a.m. I felt impressed towrite this explanation of the difference in the Gifts ofHealing and the Gift of the Working of Miracles.

Some Wrong Explanationsof the working of these two gifts are given by variouswriters, ministers, and scholars, many times becausethey seek to justify themselves before an audience thatdoes not see an instant healing in the prayer line. Theexplanation only confuses the audience more.

A healing is a healing, whether it is instant or grad-ual. When a healing is done by the Supernatural powerof God it is divine healing.

1. Some people explain that when a healing takesplace suddenly it is the gift of working of miracles inoperation. All divine healing is miraculous. Every timeGod heals someone supernaturally it is a miracle, but itGoes not come under the gift of working of miracles.All nine of the Spiritual Gifts, recorded in I Corin-thians Twelve, are supernatural, and must be calledmiracles, But eight of them are not listed under theheading of the Spiritual Gift of Working of Miracles.

The Spiritual Gift of the Working of Miracles is asupernatural manifestation of the Spirit of God, whichis not incluued in the other eight gifts. That includesall the miracles which the other eight gifts do not in-clude. The Gifts of Healing have to dowith making anypart of the body well, by the supernatural working ofGod's Spirit, whether it takes place gradually or in-stan taneously.

How Healing Takes Placeis not for us to decide. That is up to God. He dividesthe gifts to every man severally as He wills. There arediversities of Operations (I Cor. 12:6).

When Jesus healed the Nobleman's son at a distance,and he began to amend from that hour, that was theGifts of Healing in action. (John 4:46). When Jesusspoke to Peter's mother-in-law, and she arose and min-istered unto them, that was the Gifts of Healing inaction, (Matt. 8:15),When Jesus spoke to blind Barti-maus, and his eyes were instantly opened, that wasalso the Gifts of Healing in operation.

When Paul laid his hands on Publius' father andhealed him I'm sure that the bloody flux was not healedas instantly as when Paul said to a man, "Stand up-right on thy feet". (Acts 28:8; 14:10). In one case thepeople would know the healing was done as the bloodpassed from the man's body; in the other case the manleaped and walked then and there for the first time inhis life. In each case the Gifts of Healing was in op-eration.

One time Peter lifted a man up, who was lame fromhis mother's womb. He was healed instantly andwalked! He even ran and leaped! (Acts 3). Other timespeople discovered that they were healed as Peter'sshadow crossed over them. In either case the Gifts ofHealing were in operation.

Jesus touched a man's eyes twice before he wasmade perfectly whole. Another time He put mud intoa blind man's eyes and told him to go about five milesacross town and wash in a pool. Ananias laid his handson Paul. "And immediately there fell from his eyes asit had been scales: and he received his sight forth-with ... " (Acts 9: 18).

Jesus spoke to a leper, "I will; be thou clean". "Andas soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy de-parted from him, and he was cleansed" (Mark 1:42).Another time Jesus told some lepers to go show them-selves to the priest. "... And it came to pass, as they

went, they were cleansed" (Luke 17: 14).In all the above cases, although there are diversities

of operations, the Gifts of Healing an! in action.Rev. X Says

that "When your deaf ear opens instantly that is theGift of Miracles and not the Gifts of Healing in opera-tion. Healing will cause your ear to open a little at atime for several days." But we do not lind in the Biblethat Jesus told the people that the Gifts of Healingwere so powerless and weak.

Rev. X tells his audience that they should not expecta blind eye to see perfectly as soon as he prays forthem, that healing will cause the eye to see little bylittle cay by day. He says they should not expect amiracle. But the Bible teaches that divine healing is al-ways miraculous.

Rev. X tells the people the Gifts of Healing will causenature to heal them gradually. But when nature healsyou that is natural healing. The Spiritual Gifts of Heal-ing are supernatural healing.

Rev. X says, "When one is healed instantly that isthe Gift of Miracles in action. One should not expectthe Gifts of Healing to heal him instantly." But itlooks as if that is negative preaching, that Rev. X isafraid instant healings won't occur, that the audiencewon't believe he has the Gifts of Healing.

Rex. X says that when he prays for someone whohas his arm burned the Gifts of Healing will graduallylet the skin grow back on, as nature takes its course;that if anything supernaturally takes places, that isthe Gift of Miracles and not healing. This only con-fuses the audience more and causes them not to expectanything supernatural to take place.

Rev. X says that a man over seventy years old can-not receive healing by the Gifts of Healing, that if heever happens to be healed it is just because God diusomething He did not promise to do, and just happenedto perform a miracle. But the Gift of Healing is just asmuch a miracle as the Gift of Miracles.

the man healed by a miracle? Is healing a miracle, oris it just nature helping you?

"And beholding the man which was HEALED stand-ing with them, they could say nothing against it"(Acts 4:14).Paul perceived that a man had faith to be HEALED.

He told him to stand upright on his feet. The man hadnever walked. He arose and walked then and there!No one taught him to walk.

God said he was h-e-a-l-e-d healed!" and perceiving that he had faith to be HEAL-

ED (Acts 14 :9). Had that man been near someevangelists today he would have been taught that hehad to get better little by little, and nature would helphim, that the Gifts of Healing could not heal him sud-denly. I am telling you to be ready! You may receiveinstant healing! Take it anyway God gives it to you!It is just as easy for the Lord to heal you instantly asto take weeks for it. He would receive more glory.Gifts of Healing.

The Gifts of Healing are plural. (I Cor. 12). Everyman has his proper gift of God. "Having gifts there-fore differing, according to the grace that is given untous ... let us prophesy according to the proportion ofour faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our minister-ing: ... " (Rom. 12:6-7).

Each of us must minister according to the gift Godhas given to us. Some have different results in healingthan others. There are diversities of operation of thegifts of healing (I Cor. 12).One evangelist prays a simple prayer. Anotheranoints with oil and lays his hand on people. Someagrees with another and prays. One prays over theradio. One has people healed over television. One min-ister sees instant healings more than another. Oneminister sees more gradual healings. One man seesblind eyes and deaf ears opened quicker than another.Wheel chairs are emptied in one meeting more than inanother evangelist's healing line. Crutches and braces

are discarded in one meeting, while another man hasfaith for a gradual deliverance. They minister accord-ing to the proportion of their faith. They praise theLord for each other's ministry and do not criticizeanother. If they have more faith they have it to them-selves and to God and do not brag too much about it.

The Gift of Miracleswill do many things, but it never heals the sick. Re-gardless of your condition the Gifts of Healing willHEAL ALL thy diseases (Ps. 103:1-3).

The Gift of Miracles will include any miracle Godperforms that the other eight gifts do not cover.The Gift of Miracles casts out devils. We see thatgift manifested in many of our services. Most every

night devils are cast out of people. But that is no morea miracle than the Gifts of Healing.

When the Gift of Miracles is in operation people re-ceive the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Wehave seen that happen every night for many years insuccession. But that is nomore amiracle than the Giftsof Healing.

The Gift of Miracles will divide the waters. As Mosesstretched out his rod the waters rolled back! The Riverof Jordan piled up for Joshua. But that is no more amiracle than the spiritual gift of the Gifts of Healing.

The Gift of Miracles will still the storms. The wavesand the winds will obey God's command. But that is nomore a miracle than when God heals a cancer.

The iron will swim. The lions will refuse to eatGoo's servants. Money will appear in a fish's mouth.Water may be turned to wine by the Gift of Miracles.But that is no more a miracle than the Gifts to Heal.

The Gifts of healing are Spiritual. They arc power-ful. Believe it.

The Gift of Miracles will raise the dead. Itworks inits place but is not any more a miracle than the rest ofthe gifts.

God may not always divide the Sea, raise the dead,or put money in the fish's mouth or make the iron to

Chapter IIFIVE FINAL SIGNS

Since I permitted one of the inspired dreams to beprinted in the Herald of Deliverance Ihave noticedthat several others also had been spoken to in like man-ner. In March 11th issue of the Pentecostal Evangel WI:see that a man was shown something about the Com-munist twelve years ahead of time. I have heard fromother states since this piece has been published. Othershave written me that they have also had dreams aboutthe future of our nation.

Let me pause to say that dreams and visions whichare contrary to Scripture are never of God. Keep thatin mind. But if we only knew of the dreams given topeople of the rapture, Heaven, or Hell alone they wouldfill volumes.

WOMEN'S PART IN THE CHURCH. For a personto remind us of what was not permitted in the earlydays concerning women taking part in public v-crship isto acknowledge that it is only in late years that womenhave taken part in pulpit ministry.Is not that a sign that the sun is to be turned intodarkness and the moon into blood'? None will deny,after reading about these signs, that this is a majorsign; for we have many women and girls preachingnow. Little girls are winning people to God under theanointing of the Spirit. Why close your eyes to the factthat God's "daughters" and "handmaidens" have aprominent part in the last day signs?

From now on just say, "The next thing, we will seethe sun turn into darkness and the moon into bloocl;the rapture will take place before that terribla

time since just before Noah's flood.Did it just happenso that two of the planets passed each other for thefirst time since just before the birth of Christ? Andwhat about all the problems the wise men are facedwith today? They tell us that the sun will be closeenoug-h to burn people. We have already read that inthe Bible.

What about the little things, as the picture of Jesustaken in the air with a kodak? about the hundreds ofpeople seeing Jesus in the air during a battle?

I wish I had time to mention the times people haveseen Jesus, stars, or lights over our revival services'and you know of the wonders we see our tlying rna-chines perform above our heads.

WONDERS IN THE EARTH: Since the wise menhave discovered that there is liquid fire 18 miles belowus they are learning the Bible is true. And the Bibletold us that waters would turn to blood before the latepapers stated that in many places the water hasalready formed a red color, and the scientists cannottell it from blood. They might take notice that it willall be blood soon!

What means all the records being broken over theworld? New things are taking place each day. I amspeaking about the droughts, explosions, freezes, cy-clones and scores of other things that we cannot findon the record before.

Is it a wonder that all our gold is under graniterock? And in England it is under 60 feet of concrete.Does that fulfill James five?In the 26-mile cave, Jessie James and other out-lawsused to hide in; they are talking of spending a milliondollars to fix it up for our "key men" to hide in fromthe bombs. The great men (that means rich men ofcourse) will hide where the robbers used to hide. Thinkof the bomb-shelters under every major city wherepeople will den up like rats! In one nation they canshelter about one-third of their population uncler theground. In other nations the defense plants and the

national capitals will be uncler ground. People say theseare modern day wonders! God says they are signs!

In this verse it speaks of blood, fire and vapor ofsmoke. If you were in the battle fields you would haveno trouble believing this. Men's blood is poured out likewater, as the enemy sprays gasoline on them and setsthem on fire! Soon there will be over two hundredmiles of human blood deep enough for a horse to swimin.

UPON ALL FLESH: I used to wonder what thismeant. He said He would pour out His Spirit upon ALLFLESH.

Upon ALL PEOPLE, regardless of nation, state,church, race or color the Spiirt is being poured today.And if Jesus tarries a few more months you will see itin a greater measure. THERE WILL BE A WORLD-WIvE CRUSADE FOR PENTECOST. THE INVI-TATJON WILL BE TO ALL PEOPLE OF ALLCHURCHES.I want to remind you narrow-minded, prejudiced, iso-lated people that go by the name Pentecost, and callyour church by that name, that it will not be for yourchurch only. Already the Spirit is being poured out onpreachers, teachers and members from every churchunder the face of the sun. There is no lines drawn withGod. Some whole denominational churches are "come-outers". They are receiving the out-pouirng of theSpirit, Glory to God!

I want you to know that the out-pouring of theSpirit means not only tongues, shouting and otherthings, but it means all the trimmings. It means heal-ing from every disease or sickness known to man. Itmeans miracles! It means the blind, deaf, dumb andlame are delivered! No one has a "corner" on this. Itisworld-wide! It is city-wide! It is nation-wide! It ischurch-wide!

This universal outpouring is not only for a few oldwomen, although they play an important part, but theyoung men and the old men (Joel 2:28) are streaming

down the aisles with the "sons and daughters". Itseems that we have more men to receive this outpour-ing than women. The other night when those four men,about 85, received this experience, and we have manymen around 75 years old receive this oxper ience whohave never been saved before, we realize God is lightingHis signs up.It is unto you and your children, even as many as the

Lord shall call, to every creature, even to the end ofthe world, to the uttermost parts of the earth, to everylanguage, tribe and tongue. Even the Jews are on thelist to receive this outpouring just in the future.It means deliverance from habits, from bondage,

from spirits!Ilike Joel 2:32. "WHOSOEVER shall call upon thename of the Lord SHALL be DELIVERED." Whoso-ever means any nationality, race, color, denominationwhosoever WILL. Will you be delivered? Whosoevermeans YOU-regardless of what you need deliverancefrom! That is why we have deliverance services allover the country, states, nation and the world.

Chapter IIII TOUCHED JESUS

tense. Hear them crying out as only hungry men can:"Have mercy on us 0 Lord.""So Jesus had COMPASSION on them and touched

their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight,and they followed him." (Matt. 20 :34)

Crying, suffering, screaming, cutting himself, bleed-ing, and foaming at the mouth, a wild, naked, filthy,unruly, demon-possessed man, with over 2000 demonspirits is tearing down the tombs, breaking the cordsand chains. See him! The jails crumble from roundhim! His family cannot stay close to where he is! Now,see him standing normally, in his right mind, andclothed! What has made the change?

The Master is saying something! Listen! "Go hometo thy friends and tell them what great things the Lordhath done for thee, and had COMPASSION on thee".(Mark 5:19)

Picture number four: I see Peter, James and Johnthe next day after they came from their mountain-topexperience. A valley is after every mountain. That iswhere we meet the devil. Their case was no exception.Hear them crying! "Come out, you devil, in Jesus'name come out of the boy." They mean it. They arered in the face as they scream louder; but, why doeshe not come out?

This is the kind that will not yield unless there hasbeen prayer and fasting. But look! Here comes a manwho has been praying and fasting:"And one of the multitude, answered and said, Mas-ter Ihave brought unto thee my son, which hath a

dumb spirit; and wheresoever he taketh him, he tearethhim; and he foameth and gnashed with his teeth, andpineth away ... and straightway the spirit tare him,and he fell on the ground and wallowed foaming ...and oft time it has cast him into the fire, and into thewaters, to destroy him; but if thou canst do anything,have COMPASSION on us ... and the spirit cried, andrent him sore, and cast out of him: (Mark 9: 14-29).

Covered with sores, with his flesh rotting off hisbones, cast out from society, forsaken by men-a poorhelpless leper comes limping humbly to the Master.Hear him saying, "If thou wilt, thou canst make meclean.""And Jesus moved with COMPASSION, put forthhis hand and touched him, and said unto him, 'I will;be thou clean'." (Mark 1 :41)

Darkness, gloominess, sadness and lonliness was alltwo men knew, as they sat beside the dusty road, wish-ing for a nickel to help satisfy hungry children, not tosay anything of the pains gnawing in their own bodies.Hut the hunger in their souls and spirits was more in-

form of her last boy toward the cemetery: This washer last son and bread-winner. With all her sons, herhusband, her home, her hopes gone, she cannot chokeback her tears! No future! No courage! Full of dark-ness and despair she is led slowly along the dusty roadby a few neighbors!"And when Jesus saw her he had COMPASSIO~ onher, and said unto her, weep not, and he came andtouched the bier, and they that bare him stood still ...and he that WAS dead sat up and began to speak."(Luke 7 :13-15)In all five pictures above we see oneword used: Whatdoes it mean '? the word COMPASSION?

In recent months and years I have met with people,such as the above--bound, oppressed, possessed, de-pressed, diseased, deaf, heart-broken, discouraged, for-saken, and almost every other condition.

To see spastic children who cannot walk is heart-rending. Every time I see a little blind girl in the armsof a broken-hearted mother it makes my heart cryout, "Oh, for the COMPASSION of Christ."

Some with water heads ! Some with cancer of theblood! Others deaf, mute, deformed, with palsy orpolio!If I were the Mother I could understand more. Whatif you were the mother who has to sit with the childyear after year! What if it were your child!

The Lord's heart is more compassionate than amother's. That is the reason He heals, because He ismoved with compassion-not to show He can, to provethe Bible, or to build a Church altogether.

I refuse to serve a God who is not moved with COM-PASSION. That is the reason why we have DeliveranceServices. Without the Spirit of God we are none of His.

Every Christian wants to see people well. Listen, doyou believe this? "He keeps us as the apple of Hiseye." (Deut. 32:10) "He is touched with the feelingof our infirmity." (Hebrews 4:15) "The minute I suf-fered He was touched.' (Heb. 4:15). When I touched

Him I was made whole. (Mark 6:56).Do you have infirmities? THEN YOU HAVE

TOUCHED THE COMPASSIONATE CHRIST! ARISEAND BE MADE WHOLE.

Chapter IVGBNUINE EXPERIENCES

"Do you think people receive genuine experiencesto~ay when they receive the Holy Spirit'? Don't youthmk we received a better experience several years agothan the people do today'?"

A minister has just asked me that question. I wasdumb with silence. I was just thinking for awhile.

Then very lowly I asked, "Does God give false ex-peri:~ces.? Something that is not real'! (Luke 11:9-13). ThI~scripture comes to me: "And I say unto you,Ask, and It shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find :Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyonethat asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findethand to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a sons~all a.sk bread of any of you that is a father, will hegive him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fishgive him a serpent'? Or if he shall ask an egg will heoffer.him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, k~ow howto grve good gifts untc your children: how much moreshall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit tothem that ask him T"If God does give false experiences then people will be

All who get the Holy Spirit receive a genuine exper-ience at the beginning, though they all do not act alike.God has no respect to persons. The way they get intothe service, and work, and help others through, deter-mines their present experience and reward.

Chapter VTHE MIDNIGHT RIDE

years of night time, or tribulation days. I don't knowhow far we are into that, but a diagram the scientistsdrew when the H bomb was made says it is three min-uets until twelve. Job 34:20 says, "The people will betroubled at midnight." It also speaks of death.The RevolutionThe people did not sit idle. They heeded the warning.They loaded their guns. As the British marched, welltrained, up the country that night they fell all alongthe road. The battle was on! Months of bitter fightingwent on and on.It went on until the clothes and shoes wore out.George Washington's army could be traced in the snowby the blood which came from their feet. On theykept fighting! They were determined. And because theywere determined, they won the battle, and threw offthe yoke. In spite of the hardships and proverty they

were granted freedom.Independence SignedJohn Hancock signed his name in large letters so the

king of England could read it without his glasses. Asthey all signed it each spoke famous words of deter-mination and victory. Thus our nation was set free.You have whatever you sign your name to. The devilsays you are under bondage. The Lord says you arefree. If you sign what the devil says, you are signingyour name to this: "You are not saved, you are justpartly saved." If you sign what God says, you say,"The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from ALL sin."(I John 1 :9).The devil says, "You only got a touch, but you didn'tget your healing." God says, "You shall recover."(Mark 16:18). Sign what God does and you shall haveyour independence. God says, "I am the Lord that heal-eth thee" (Ex. 15 : 26.) Sign it.Sign it and ring the liberty bell. They rang the liber-ty-bell so hard it cracked. If you will have the deter-lmination l If you will fight! If you will get in earnest!Y0U do not have to sit and let the enemy put a heavybondage on you. You don't have to let the enemy come

"The Red-Coats are coming! The Red-Coats are com-ing!" The horse was running as fast as it could run.The man was crying at the top of his voice, "The Red-Coats are coming! Get ready!" It was midnight. Thatis the reason history calls it, "Paul Revere and the mid-night ride."

The load was getting heavier and heavier! Thencame the "Boston Tea Party" and the "Stamp Act". Toadd one more thing to the heavy load of taxes the Bri-:tish put on the Stamp Act to raise more taxes. Thatwas when Patrick Henry made the famous speech andspoke those words that have been ringing downthrough the ages, "Give me liberty or give me death." Iwish people had the "back-bone" to say the same thingtoday.

Midnight CryIt was midnight when the plagues came to Egypt. Itwas midnight when the Israelites were supernaturally

delivered. It will be midnight when the Lord comes(Ez. 11 and 12.)Oh, no, it may not be what you call midnight. ButMatthew 25 : 1-6 tells us it will be midnight. The firsttwo days was up until Noah's flood. The next two until

the birth of Christ, and the next two will be until thereturn of Christ. And those days will be shortened. Athousand years of peaceful will be the seventh clay.That is God's plan. He is working to it.The sixth day is over and gone! Darkness and grossdarkness is covering the people. There will be seven

in and possess your property. Get some fight in you!Sign a declaration of independence after the victory.Make a constitution and go by it! Then guard yourdeliverance after you get it!

Liberty or DeathCan you say that? The Bible is a perfect Law of

Liberty. (James 1 : 25). It will set you free if you saywhat it says. "By his stripes you are free" (Isa. 53 :5).He still sends His Word and heals people. (Psa. 107 :20).Glory! He still forgives sins! Believe it!

But you must say it! You have what you say. (Mark11 :23). He that is of God says what God says (John3 : 34) God says He heals all your diseases (Psa. 103: 1-3and 34 :19). You must have a determination (Heb,11:6). You must get in earnest (James 5:17). If youwill you will get it (Jer. 29 :13).If you have a "mid-night" in your soul, 1 feel like

Paul Revere; I am sounding the Mid-night cry. Whydon't you be like Patrick Henry? Say, "Give me libertyor death.is surely coming." Right now, revolt againstthe enemy which is binding you tighter all the time.Get some fight in you! Throw off the yoke! Sign thedeclaration of independence! Make a constitution! IfYO U don't over-come that it is going to overcome you!Y o u will get healed or death will overtake you! Youwiil get saved or eternal death awaits you! Say, "Lib-erty or death." Get liberty for soul and body. God willturn your midnight into daylight. (Mal. 4 :2).

Chapter VIHOW TO GET FAITH

trying to be married. The President of the UnitedStates does not have to try to be president. He alreadyis president. If you believe me you do not have to tryto believe me. It is the same with believing God. Faithcomes simply by hearing the Word of God (Rom.10 :17) and accepting it.

God's Word Brings Faith for Salvation"Receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which

is able to save your souls." (James 1 :21).If you want a person to get under conviction, get

him reading the Word, or teach him the Word. A fewminutes of instruction in the Scriptures may save himmonths of seeking God. Too many altar workers shoutin the ears of those seeking salvation when they oughtto be putting Scriptures into their ears. Philip provedthe value of the Word when he won the man fromEthiopia. (Acts 8 :35).

God's Word Brings Faith for Sanctification"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word istruth." (John 17:17).The more of the living Word we get in our hearts,

the more of the divine nature of Jesus we have. In somechurches we find people in the ditch of fanaticism, con-demning themselves over things the Word does notmention, and trying to get others to measure up totheir man-made standard. In other churches we findpeople have gone in the other direction and are in theditch of formalism, doing things which the Wordspeaks against and yet saying they don't feel con-demned over it. The Word of God will get both groupsout of the ditch and into the middle of the Highway ofHoliness, where the way is so plain that a wayfaringman, though a fool, need not err.

God's Word Brings Faith for the Baptism" ... the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them

Chapter VIILORD HAVE MERCY

Messiah comes." The man had told him of a Man whoopened people's eyes with a touch.

What is that he hears'! Voices-a crowd is coming!"This Man opened my eyes." "This Man healed me.""Jesus opened my ears." "He cast seven devils out ofme." He raised me from the dead. "He straightened meout after I was bent over for eighteen years." Then alady says: "I had spent all I had on doctors; I grewworse, I was sick for twelve long years, the doctors saidI couldnt live, but, glory to God, I am well." Yes itsounded much like the testimony-meetings we have atour church.

What is that the blind man feels? He has never feltthat way before. He knows the presence of God, for heis a praying man. Faith springs up in his heart. "Thismust be the long-looked-for Messiah."

Hear him calling: "Jesus, thou Son of David, havemercy on me." But he is stopped by the Pharisees:"You are making too much noise; let everything bedone decent and in order."

But it seems that his heart will burst. He crieslouder, only to be stopped again by the more severetype. Hear him, at the top of his voice, a heart cry:"Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me." Itreached the heart of Jesus; a heart-cry always does.

"Be of good cheer, He is calling for thee," someoneis telling him. He has the attention of Jesus. A personin earnest always has. He does not hear much of therest of what is said, FOR HE SEES FOR THE FIRSTTIME IN HIS LIFE. He is thinking of his little girl. Hethanks the Master and hurr-ies toward home, leavingthe crowds cheering and glorifying God. One more ishealed.

He reaches the little cabin at the edge of town, Hehas made his way somehow. "Why didn't you tell meeverything was so wonderful?" he inquires. But theyreply, "We have been trying to tell you a long time,but you couldn't understand."

where they have no Sunday School. In a family wherethe Word of God is taught in the home, the childrencan all get saved in one night, whereas it might takeweeks to get the family saved otherwise.

Truly the Word of God is quick, and powerful, andsharp-saving, sanctifying, healing, filling, and keep-ing full those who obey it.

Darkness! loneliness! sadness! Many, many longyears of weariness!

The minutes seemed hours! The hours seemed days!Days slowly grew into weeks, weeks grew into months.And so it went for many years.

He had never seen his mother. Neither had he seenfather, sister or brother; none of his relatives. Helonged to see his wife he loved more than his own life.But even this was denied him. His little daughter andson sat upon his knees. He would hold their hands, heartheir vo-ices,and feel the kisses they placed on his face.They discussed the matter with him many times:"Daddy, wouldn't it be grand if you could only see, seethe moon, the stars, and the sun, the flowers and thebirds and pretty trees. The world is wonderful." Nonewished it more than this unfortunate man, but he hadrather see his family.

Or, if he could only make a living for the ones heloved, the other wouldn't matter, and he would be sothankful. It grew so tiresome sitting by that dustyroad day after day holding his little cup for a pennynow and then. There was no Red Cross or pensions todepend on.

What is this a traveler is telling him? "No, that isimpossible! That can't be; don't tell me the blind arereceiving sight. I know they will some day when our

have thought about what people would think of him.But he did not.

Lots of people will wonder what their preacher willthink. They say that their church believes in beingquiet. They miss the blessings of God because of thePharises, Sadducees, those who can't see or those whodon't want to see. We need to do as this man, forgetabout what people will think and do some-

us the answer when we seek Him with all our heart(Jer. 29:13). Those who half-heartedly seek God willnever get anything (Jas, 1:6-8). He is a rewarder ofthem who diligently seek Him (Reb. 11:6). We are topray earnestly (Jas. 5:17; Jude 3; 1 Cor. 12:31). Alazy person will not get many things from God.

Regardless of public opinion ana all the opposition;press right on through and get the answer. You canbe made whole.

This man said, "Have mercy on me," and he receivedhealing (Luke 18:35-43; Matt. 20:29-34; Mark 10:46-52). HEALING IS MERCY. Every verse in Psalms 136says, "His mercy endureth forever." Do you believeit? Micah 7:18 says, "He delighteth in mercy." Psalms86:5 says, "He is plenteous in MERCY to ALL themthat calion him." Psalms 100:5 says, "His word en-dureth forever." Jesus is the same today (Heb. 13:8).

Suffering friend, get in earnest. Regard not publicopinion. Healing is mercy! Mercy i. s healing! God is amerciful God.

Chapter VInI WAS IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY

Present MercyThe tradition of the elders has made the Word of

God of none effect. If the present day Pharisees hadtheir way they would keep everyone from receivinghealing. They would like for us to stay quiet. They havea form without the power. They say it is done awaywith, Jesus is not moved with compassion any more,and that times have changed. They preach on the sub-ject of the blind man. They write commentaries on it.They try to spiritualize it all. They liken it to gettingour spiritual eyes open. The commentaries make itapply to spiritual things these days. I am so glad itmeans just what it says (Luke 4:18; John 14:12).

We have scores of testimonies in our files, withnames and addresses, where the blind receive sight inour revivals. We can furnish doctor's statements. Leavethem alone, preachers and let's seek God!

There were only three in my family r my wife, boy andmyself. As all other citizens we were to register every-thing we had with the government. Living in the coun-try we had to walk a mile and a half to an olel schoolhouse to do this. There was a grocery store there. Itwas a general store, as they have in the contry, whereyou could buy nearly everything.

I didn't want to register my Bible with the govern-ment, for to do so we had to strike out certain verses,not to be used. That was a privilege we had, to keep ourBibles, providing they were registered with the govern-ment, and if we would agree not to mention certainthings which were considered to be causing confusion.I had two guns. There was one that I didn't want toregister.

So I let my wife and boy take one Bible and one gunto the school-house to register them with all the otherthings we had. I went all the way through the woodswith my gun and my Bible. I hid them. No one wouldknow about them. I arrived at the school house andthe store. I was just sitting there until my wife awlboy arrived, so we could buy something, for I was tiredand hungry.

About that time someone came up to the door. Threeor four men conversed with each other a few minutesand asked some questions, looked at me for a while, andwalked off. Then one of the boys laughed and told methat the men, who were "laws", had mistaken me for apreacher, Brother G. was who they were looking for;he had failed to register with the government.

Of course I was a preacher, but I was so glad theywere looking for the other one. I felt relieved; but notfor long. For my wife and toy had arrived. We just hadto do some trading. I asked a man beside me, whowas my fellow-citizen, if we were to go free and settledown and be peaceful again, without being botheredby the government. He replied, "Sure we can." He had.I was feeling so relieved. But he added, "We can if wewill register." He had registered already and he wascounted a citizen. He could get his "portion" from thegovernment each month. What a privilege! I wanted tobe respected. I wanted to be loyal to the government.I did not want to be counted a law-breaker, or an out-law like Brother G., who the officers were looking for.So I decided to register.

But I was asked if that was my only Bible, and ifthat was my only gun. 1 was asked if I was a firm be-liever in the communist government. I was asked if Jwould stand by the government, to defend it and sup-port their policies. 1 didn't want to sign that unless Iknew what their policies were. In reading the policiesI noticed that they did not believe in Christ.

I was in a strait what to do. I did not want to lieabout the extra Bible, which contained the Scriptures intheir fullness. I wanted to be truthful about the extragun. I didn't want to sign that I would be loyal to thisgovernment, or that I would support it, or be a firmbeliever in it. But I must do so if my family got its"portion." We couldn't as much as get a ration bookunless we registered. We could not get car-license. Wecouldn't get a social-security card. 1 wouldn't be ap-pointed my job to work at. I wouldn't be a free citizen

like the rest of the peeople in the store who were takingit easy. They were not worrying. Of course 1 didn'twant to be an "out-law." I wanted peace. We had warlong enough. My friends and relatives would think meawful if I didn't want peace. By signing my name Jcould be at ease Otherwise, what was I to do? Then Iawoke! I felt so relieved. It was a dream! But I couldnot sleep any more that night. I felt the power of God.The Lord talked to me.This was in America! One thing that impressed mewas that these officers, these people at the store andall these "loyal citizens" were my own people, some Ihad been reared with. They were loyal to their govern-ment. They wanted their "portion." How else couldthey live? It seemed that they were contented andhappy? But they had signed away their right to Christ.They had denied the blood, for the things that "causedconfusion" were marked out of their Bibles they were"privileged to keep". Being loyal to the governmentthey could have church. Of course they must notpreach anything which would cause 'tr-ouble.' Americahad been run over by the Communists. It was my ownpeople who were officers. They were loyal. It was"peaceful America" once more. Everyone seemed to beso glad of it.1 t hought of the Scripture where a man's foes wouldbe those of his own household. A brother shall betraya brother unto death. The father-in-law against theson-in-law. I thought about the Mark of the Beast. Butwould it come that way? "How foolish" the averageperson thought. They had signed without botheringto read what they signed. Should they not be a "peace-loving people, loyal to their government." They didn'twant to see any more of our boys die, or any morebloody revolutions. They wanted to rebuild our cities 11 1a peaceful world. Everyone had plenty of work who"registered". And the Mark of the Beast comes througha mark in the forehead or in the hand. But I thought ifI signed my name with my right hand or even gave

Chapter IXDON'T BE "PUT AWAY"

(lying to God) but that was before he came in the lightof the Holy Ghost.

Brother, Sister, who have been trifling with Godunder the sound of the Holy Ghost messages, don'tthink you are going to escape discipline.

God dealt with a young lady, by the name of F-- .She finally came to God after God took little Charles.Ray, her 18 months old baby. She became a member ofthe church where I pastored. She rejoiced many timesin the Lord and told the people how she was going tomeet her little Charles Ray iff Heaven. She would espe-cially get happy when we would sing, "I'll Meet YouOver Yonder."

One night at church the Holy Ghost spoke and toldher she had sin covered LIp in her life. I went to herand she denied it. I told her to confess it out, but shewould not.

About nine months later we stopped by to see her.I opened the Bible and began to read what God gave meafter we had prayer. I looked her in the eyes and toldher what was in her life. She confessed it out. Shecried as my wife took her guitar and sang:

How will it be when we get over yonder,To meet our friends upon that glassy sea '!

To meet our loved ones and crown Christ forever,Oh, this is just what Heaven means to me.

She said she was right with God as we walked outand left her rejoicing in God. Although this had re-proached Goel's cause God was so merciful!Sunday afternoon we went by to get her to carry herto Sunday School. The beds were rolled up and hangingin the yard. The room was empty. I stood shocked asher brothers, who were unbelievers, told me this story:

About three o'clock Sunday morning she began tosuffer agony. They wanted to carry her to the hospital,which was six miles away. She said, "You may as wellcarry me to the funeral home, for I am not comingback."

And many people around the.defense jobs near Chicago, who have lost their socialsecurity number, in order to work, has their numberput in their hands, under the skin. That is not the Markof the Beast, for they have not denied Christ by signingup with a Christ-rejecting, Communist Government.But how soon?

The Bible didn't say it would come on all the peopleat once. For several of our brethren behind the ironcurtains have gone to prison, given their lives in manyways, rather than sign up, and everything, even bread,was rationed. Some have compromised, for the sake oftheir hungry family, and to be at "peace." WHATWILL YOU DO?~

I don't want to be "put away". Paul commands thechurch "to put away from among yourselves thatwicked person." (1 Cor. 5: 13). How do you do it? Verse5 tells them. The way to put them away is to deliverthem unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh thattheir Spirit might be saved in the day of the LordJesus."

I don't see much Scripture for "turning out," al-though I don't object to it if a person must do it, be-cause it sometimes splits a church and causes trouble.

Paul practiced what he preached. He put two menaway because they blasphemed. (1 Tim. 1:20). Pauldid the same thing, but it was through ignorance (v.13). That makes a difference. When you know aboutthese things it isa serious thing with God. That is whyit was so serious with Brother Ananias and his wife.They did it under the light and in the face of the HolyGhost anointing. Peter was guilty of the same thing

They would not agree with her and started to carryher to the hospital. As they started to the ambulanceshe said to Billy, her four-year-old son, "Billy, I am notgoing to live with you any more. I am going to livewith little Charles Ray. Good-bye, Billy."

As they drove up Main Street she was heard fraintlysinging, as she seemed to be easy:

Will the circle be unbroken,Bye and bye, bye and bye?

There is a better home awaiting,In the sky, yes, in the sky.

She was only in the hospital a few minutes when shelooked up and said, "I will not be here much longer. Iam going to be with my little Charles Ray!" Then look-ing up she pointed. She gazed there as she exclaimed:"I see little Charles Ray now up there on that beauti-ful shore. There he is! In a minute I'll be over therewith him!"

In about a minute she had stepped across on thatother shore to try a reality of a better world wherethere will be no more suffering, no more sad farewellsto loved ones, no more graves to be dug, nomore pains,tears or troubles up there for the former things arepassed away.

Is that not better than if we had "turned her out"and still be suffering from a "church trial"?
