The gospel of John records eightmiracles in the ministry of Jesus.
Each of these miracles teach usabout life and hope.

the counter – the light is turned off and the clerk closes the register

John 4:46-54 Lesson – DOUBT This miracle was done by long distance He believed (vs. 50) – mental agreement When he learned of the healing – he
believed (vs. 53)

John 5:1-15 Lesson – IMPROPER INFORMATION Verse 4 is thought to be an addition to the
text The truth is – he was waiting for a false
hope He came every day looking for something

in” - not many ships come through here We hope, long for, anticipate – things that
are not going to happen We make decisions on false information

John 6:1-14 Lesson – HUNGRY We hear about hungry, hurting, starvation,
famine These people were just about physical
hunger – wanting a free meal

hunger – eternal life Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who
hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

26 Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. 27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."

long, but can be very strong

physical Many are spiritually handicapped

sense

commands – Will we obey or question? 153 fish caught 3 feet from nothing
Conclusion – John 20:30-31
30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;
31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
