Saint Thomas the Israelite Concerning the childhood of the Lord Jesus Christ AD 30

1 Thus the little child Jesus waxed strong. And when He five years of age He was playing at the fjord of a brook after the Heavens opened and rain had filled the streets of Jerusalem. Upon acknowledging His Fathers manifestations, He gathered together the many waters that flowed there and formed them into pools and straightway He made of the earth, soft clay.

2 And having made soft clay of the earth, He fashioned thereof twelve sparrows and set them along the banks of the flowing waters.

3 And there were also many children who witnessed these events

4 And a certain Jew of the Law, officiator of the Temple; when he saw what Jesus had done upon the Sabbath Day, rebuked Him and departed straightway and told his father Joseph.: “Lo, thy child is at the brook and He hath taken clay and fashioned twelve little sparrows, and with this has polluted the Sabbath Day”.

5 And Joseph his father came to the place and saw; and cried out to Him, saying “Wherefore doest thou these things on the Sabbath Day”?

6 But Jesus turned to the birds of clay that He had fashioned of the earth, and without speaking, clapping His hands together and commanding “Go”! And they went and took flight.

7 And they that were present, when they saw those things were amazed and departed and told the chief priests of those things, even that which they saw Jesus do.

8 And from those days onward did Jesus do many mighty miracles among them confounding many, yet many did rejoice.

Matthew 10 29-31 KJV Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.   But the very hairs of your head are all numbered

Luke 12:7 KJV But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Luke 3: 8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these *stones to raise up children unto Abraham. *(earth/clay))
