About MyselfHI, My name is Talia Keyton.Originally from the U.K, I moved to Canada in 2007 with my family in pursuit of a better life. Winding up in Winnipeg by accident, I fell in love with this city’s unique charm and the incredible people here ... we put down roots and haven’t looked back since.

My work is about human perception. More specifically it is based on how I see the world through “Color-graphemic Synesthesia” Which, until recently, was not a word part of my personal dictionary. To explain this further: Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon in which the stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive neurological pathway. Fancy terminology aside – I see colours in words. In my particular case, written words, individual letters and numbers are all inherently coloured.

Each one of my pieces are based on a single word. I hope you find one that speaks to you...

Bubbles was created using mostly spray paints and small amount of acrylic & pouring medium. It took almost 6 hours to complete and has several layers of each medium. I very much enjoyedthe proccess for this one. The first 3 layers were done outside in my garden. Finishing touches were done later in the house with a fine brush.

Rivers was also created outside, and flipped around halfway through the process. The large green highlights were the product of a flourescent green ink that was added into the mix towards the end.
