• MECHS is committed to substantially increasing the number of low-income students and first generation students who will pursue advanced studies. 78% of current students are on Free or Reduced Lunch.

Student applications are scored by MECHS teachers based on criteria including:

advanced academic enrollment, attendance, campus engagement, family & student need, packet completion, and student interest.

Per the Texas Education Agencies Early College High School Blueprint; GPA, class rank and state assessment scores cannot be considered when reviewing student applications to state designated early college high schools.

MECHS administration does not review application packets. MECHS administration only facilitates the application review process.
