Oct. 4 - Ephesus, Turkey Drive to Ephesus, the marble city where Paul spent three years of hisministry. The ruins of Ephesus have been restored much like the citywas in Paul’s time. You will visit the ancient Agora and view the GreatTheater. View the terrace houses, also known as “the houses of therich,” which give a true impression of the ancient lifestyle. Also visit theEphesus Archaeological Museum for a look at some of Ephesus’ mostprized artifacts.

Oct. 5 - Rhodes, GreecePaul visited Rhodes briefly on his way to Jerusalem at the end of histhird missionary journey. Over 1,200 years later when Jerusalem fellduring the Crusades, the Knights of St. John fled to the island ofRhodes, where they ruled for two centuries. Suleiman the Magnificentfinally captured the island, but lost 50,000 men in the campaign. Thecastles and old town built by the knights are still impressive today.

Oct. 6 - Santorini, Greece (on own)Disembark at Santorini, one of the most beautiful of the Greek islands.Its picturesque whitewashed villages with brilliant blue domes dot thecliffs above the Aegean Sea. The island itself perches on the edges ofa volcano whose eruption 3,500 years ago is thought to have led tothe collapse of the Minoan civilization. Shore excursions are booked through Celebrity.

Oct. 7 - Athens & Corinth, GreeceThe architectural splendors of the ancient city of Athens are as magicalas ever. View the world-renowned Acropolis, the Propylaea, and theParthenon. Time permitting, view Mars Hill where Paul debated withthe intellectual community of his day. Walk among the ruins of theAgora, the ancient market place and center of Athenian public life. Youwill view the Olympic Stadium, home of the Olympics. Travel to Corinth(Acts 18), a city that inspired St. Paul’s most familiar letter. You willvisit the Archaeological Museum, the Market Place, and Temples. Walkamong the ruins and stand on the Bema where Paul stood. ReadPaul’s letter to the Corinthians and visualize his address to the Gentilesas he began the task of building Corinth’s church.

Oct. 9 - Naples & Pompeii, Italy (On Own)Arrive in Naples, a dazzling city perched on a beautiful rock coast. Paullanded in the bay of Naples on his way to Rome. You can journey inlandto ancient Pompeii, dating almost to the time of Paul, where you cansee the spectacular ruins that were covered by ash from the eruptionof Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79. Davis ChappellDr. Davis Chappell is a native ofNashville.  He graduated fromOverton High School in 1978.Davis holds undergraduatedegrees in Psychology at MartinMethodist College and Lambuth

College in Tennessee.  He is a graduate of CandlerSchool of Theology at Emory University, where heearned a Masters of Divinity degree. Davis completedhis Doctorate of Divinity, in the areas of evangelismand church renewal, at Perkins School of Theology atSouthern Methodist University.

Davis has been married for 30 years to the formerSherre Hufman, of Tifton, Georgia. They have twogrown children: Andrew, a graduate student at CandlerSchool of Theology, and Hailey, a senior at GeorgiaSouthern University.For 30 years, Davis served churches in the Atlantaarea.  He joined Brentwood United Methodist Churchas Senior Pastor in July, 2013.
