Missoni Inspired Scarf
A gorgeous, high-impact Missoni-inspired scarf knit up in worsted weight yarn – guaranteed to lift your spirits through the grey days of winter!
Yarn Berroco Ultra Alpaca (198 m - 215 yds, 50% Super Fine Alpaca, 50% Peruvian Wool) or any worsted weight yarn.
1 skein 62171 – Berry Pie Mix (Colour A) 1 skein 6275 – Pea Soup Mix (Colour B) 1 skein 6225 – Masa (Colour C) 1 skein 6233 – Rose Spice (Colour D) 2 skeins 6245 – Pitch Black (Colour E) 1 skein 6235 – Fuschia (Colour F)
Abbreviations
k = knit yo = yarn over k2tog = knit two stitches together ssk = slip, slip, knit. Slip two stitches separately as if to knit, then place the left needle into the fronts of these two stitches and knit them together md = mitered decrease (slip 2 sts tog as if to k2tog, k1, pass the 2 slipped sts over.

Needles 5mm / US 8 knitting needles – or size needed to obtain gauge.
Tension / gauge 20 sts in 4in / 10cm Stockinette stitch
Pattern
With colour A cast on 69 stitches. Work stripe sequence in the following manner:
Row 1 (RS) and all right side rows: k1, ssk, k14, yo, k1, yo, k15, md, k15, yo, k1, yo, k14, k2tog, k1 Row 2 (WS) and all wrong side rows: purl all stitches, purl yo’s through the back loop
9 rows – colour A 2 rows – colour B 3 rows – colour C 7 rows – colour D 2 rows – colour E 4 rows – colour B 2 rows – colour D 4 rows – colour A 2 rows – colour C 7 rows – colour F 4 rows – colour D 3 rows – colour E 2 rows – colour C 3 rows – colour B 6 rows – colour A 3 rows – colour F 4 rows – colour D 2 rows – colour E 4 rows – colour B 2 rows – colour F 3 rows – colour C 7 rows – colour F 4 rows – colour D
When finished stripe sequence, continue in pattern with colour E (6245 Black). When scarf measures 59 in from cast on edge, begin stripe sequence again in reverse order.
Cast off loosely, sew in ends, and block. Enjoy!
Stripe sequence: Use written instructions OR chart. Read chart bottom-up for first end of scarf and top-down for opposite end.
