Welcome to Volume 10 of the Knightsbridge® 2014 Catalogue from ML AccessoriesIt seems like only yesterday that we launched our 2013 catalogue and yet here we are in 2014 introducing our biggest and best catalogue yet, including the introduction of over 200 new product lines. What a year it has been, having surpassed even our own expectations, something that can only be attributed to all our dedicated internal and external departments, here in the UK as well as abroad, coupled with our exceptional stock holding.

Even with our impressive growth, we have still maintained and further improved our customer experience and continue to offer a next day delivery as standard, having further expanded our working hours for same day dispatch.

In January 2014 we established a double-shift system in our warehouse to ensure we are able to adequately manage the anticipated growth in 2014. Additionally, our newly installed Warehouse Management System will guarantee not only more efficiency but also speed and accuracy.

WHaT IS lEd FlEX?

LED Flex is a versatile, flexible LED light strip which can be cut at 50mm (2 inch) intervals. Off-cuts can be reconnected and used elsewhere.

LED Flex is safe, low voltage, energy efficient and draws just 4.8W of power per metre. This power consumption gives it a low working and cool to touch temperature.Its thin profile and narrow width make it ideal for applications where fluorescent or halogen lights would be too bulky or consume too much power.

Bathroom Zones

Zone 0 is inside the bath or shower itself. Any fitting used in this zone must be IP68 low voltage (max 12V).

Zone 1 is the area above the bath to a height of 2.25m from the floor. In this zone a minimum rating of IP44 is required. If the fitting is 240v a 30mA residual current device (RCD) must also be used to protect the circuit in this zone.

Zone 2 is an area stretching 0.6m outside the perimeter of the bath and to a height of 2.25m from the floor. In this zone an IP rating of at least IP44 is required. In addition, it is good practice to consider the area around a wash basin (within a 60cm radius of any tap) as Zone 2.

Outside zones is anywhere outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (subject to specific limits) and where no water jet is likely to be used. No IP rating is required.

In addition to the above, if there is a likelihood of water jets being used for cleaning purposes in zones 1, 2 and “Outside Zones” a fitting rated a minimum IP65 must be used.

Bathroom luminaire installations must comply with legislation. This has recently been updated and is now Section 701 of BS7671:2008 (Wiring Regulations 17th Edition)

IP RATING GUIDE

IP44Protection from drops of water. Limited ingress permitted.

Protection from large parts of the body such as hands and from solid objects greater than 50mm in diameter.

Protection against objects no greater than 80mm in length and 12mm in diameter.

Protected against a solid object greater than 2.5mm such as tools.

Protected against a solid object greater than 1mm such as a wire.

Protection from the amount of dust that would interfere with the operation of the equipment.

Dust tight. No ingress of dust

Protected against vertical falling dripping water. Limited ingress permitted.

Protection from water projected from a nozzle.

The Polo is a decorative IP44 rated low profile luminaire for internal or external use that can be wall or ceiling mounted. Manufactured from tough polycarbonate with HF soft start electronic control gear as standard in all models, it is supplied as standard in white. 3 further optional colour trims are available; brass, chrome or matt silver. Choose from opal or prismatic diffusers.

Twist and lock mechanism allows for easy lamp change and maintenance. Offered in two sizes 16W Ø270mm and 28/38W Ø330mm with optional emergency version in 28W.
