Mobile printing from an IPad
Step 1. Install the Uniflow App
From the App Store, search for Uniflow.
Install the Uniflow App. You may have to enter your Apple ID password. You can use whichever ID is the default. When it is done installing, select open.
The Mobile printing app opens to the locations page. This is where new mobile printers are added. While standing at your
printer, select the box in the upper left corner. This will activate your camera.
Let your camera focus on the QR code, which is printed on the Yellow printer tag. When it detects the code it will beep.
If you are on the Private Wireless, you will see a list of all available printers. Find your printer and select it.
If you are not on Private wireless you will get this error. Don’t worry! You are still able to print! Select cancel.
If prompted, enter your username and password. This will be the same as your Windows logon ID. Set the Store switch to ON.
The name of the printer should now be showing. Touch the arrow to continue.
The mobile print queue is empty. Now we can send it a job.
The print queue name is displayed. Tap on the arrow to continue.
Step 2: Printing from the Uniflow App on an IPad
Select Email Document\Spreadsheet.
From a productivity app such as Numbers or Pages, touch the wrench in the upper Right corner. Then touch on Share and Print.
Select an applicable format. The available formats are, PDF, XL, XLS, DOC, DOCX, TXT, and RTF. Do not select Numbers or Pages as the format. They will not be converted. Documents must be sent as an attachment. Attachments over 2MB cannot be converted.
Address the Email to [email protected]. Remove any signature lines that may appear as these will also be converted if left. Select Send.
Within a few minutes you should receive an Email letting you know that the job was successfully converted or failed to convert. If the job failed to convert, recheck the size and format then try sending again. If it continues to fail, contact the IT Hotline.
After you receive the Email that your job was successfully converted, you can open the Uniflow App to see the document waiting.
Touch on the arrow to see your documents waiting to be printed.
Your document should show up in the documents list. Touch on the document to enable the options on the bottom of the screen. From here you can print, or delete your print job without printing.
To print your document, touch the printer at the bottom of the screen and select Print and Delete. This will print your job and delete it from the Mobile print queue. If you would like to keep your document in the queue, you can select Print. The document will print and remain in the queue for 32 hours.
The Mobile print option can be used with any of the Canon copiers configured to use Uniflow. The final goal is to have all printers available to use Mobile printing.
