Survey Statistics
This report summarises information about the status of m-learning inAfrica based on 625 responses to a questionnaire circulated in 2010 topeople on the m-Learning Africa database.
When asked about the educational levels addressed by their M-learningcourses, respondents listed the following:
Higher education 53%
Technical education 20% Vocational 12% Informal/non-formal 5% Continuing education 7% Secondary school 3%
Survey Analysis-This reinforces the view that, amongst practitioners who respondedto the survey, the majority of users for m-learning were in the higher educational andTechnical educational fields.

Conducting Survey To Tap MarketPotential.
According to a recent national survey, access to mobile technology in theclassroom has more than tripled among high school students in the pastthree years.
Even more interesting, parents say they are more likely to purchase amobile technology device for their child if its for classroom use.
Most student already own mobile devices.
According to the survey, students no longer view their schools internetfilters as the primary barrier to using technology in the classroom, as theyhave in years past. Instead, when asked how schools could make it easierto use technology for school work, students responses indicated that theywant to use their own mobile learning devices.

Political Stability in the PilotCountries
In 2007,Kenya had Political instability due to PresidentialElection.1300 people died and 500,000 were displaced.
But in 2008,stability was regained by adding a new post in theconstitution.
Hopefully the next presidential election would be carried out inpeace.
The political movements in Uganda & Namibia is relatively stable .

For the first time, a new study quantifies for the first time how IXPsenable Kenya and Nigeria to save millions.
The primary role of an Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is to keep local
Internet traffic within local infrastructure and to the reduce costsassociated with traffic exchange between Internet Service Providers(ISPs).
In Kenya (IXP) has dramatically reduced latency of local traffic andspeeding the data, while saving local ISPs nearly US$1.5 million per yearon international connectivity charges.
