An IoT Big Data Framework to understand mobility patterns around Sagrada Familia
Big Data CoE has developed, together with Barcelona City Council, Mobile World Capital
Barcelona, GSM and Orange, the BCN Tourism Management Big Data & IoT in Action project.
Its demo will showcase how multiple local data sources, combined with data from a telco operator in an IoT Big Data framework, were used to understand visitors’ mobility patterns around Barcelona; specifically in the Sagrada Familia area. This information will be used to improve tourism business processes and decision making in the City Council’s Tourism Department.

mHealth technologies
eKenku is a service that telemonitors chronic diseases. It takes regular clinical parameters from any location using mobile devices. Data obtained are managed from the health centre to monitor each patient in a simple and safe way.
Eurecat has developed a mobile health application connected to a back-end service that supports adherence to complex pharmacological treatments for patients and professionals. This application facilitates communication between the patient and healthcare professionals through a safe and private environment.

1 AUTONOMOUS &INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS
Air and land vehicles, navigation and control, sen-sors and actuators, robotized cells and collabora-tive robotics, among others, to provide advanced solutions for automating different tasks in diffe-rent environments.
Photonic biosensors for healthcare diagnostics, a laser for processing materials applied to macro and micro-processes, devices based on special optical fibres or sensors based on fibre optics…
Additive manufacturing provides enormous ad-vantages over traditional methods. It includes opportunities for placing manufacturing points close to the consumer, competitive manufactu-ring of short product series or reproducing any geometry imaginable to provide an immediate response to changing market needs.
Progress in nanotechnology opens up a wider span of advanced materials featuring aweso-me properties at lab scale. The next challenge is taking these properties to an industrial scale in order to provide pieces with unprecedented performances and be in a position of conceiving products with functionalities unheard of.
This economic concept takes industry to a new pattern of using and optimi-zing stocks and material, energy and resource flows based on the use of the best technologies such as intelligent management systems, thus creating new products or services.
Security by Design”, i.e. including cybersecu-rity as a requirement for an organization’s IT systems from the onset, or “Security in Dep-th”, i.e. thinking of all doors that may allow attacks on cybersecurity if opened fraudu-lently, are concepts the companies will adopt to ensure that their assets are safe. Without any guaranteed cybersecurity, no true mi-gration to the Industry 4.0 paradigm can be envisaged.
To take true advantage of superintegration data, the use of powerful digital tools ranging from data scien-ce to knowledge engineering will be needed.
It is widely used in the medical, food, pharma and textile industries to create new products and mate-rials as well as to produce biofuels.
This will allow industries such as packaging, textile, pharma or biomedicine to provide surfaces and ob-jects with more functions of communication and usability interface with users as well as sensorisation and interaction with the environment as a whole.

Cybersecurity Industrial Lab
Protection against new types of malware for mobile
Eurecat’s Cybersecurity Industrial Lab investigates how cybersecurity is implemented in IoT systems, with focus on embedded equipment and infrastructure. The Lab discovers vulnerabilities through the IoT systems and devises state-of-the-art prevention and mitigation measures. The Lab is a sound technology partner on cybersecurity issues for IoT device manufacturers, IT companies and Critical Infrastructures.
Eurecat has developed a mobile app against malware techniques. A report is made on possible countermeasures on how to avoid using overlays of transparent layers to prevent the user’s tabs from external control by means of a malicious app at the top layer.

Sfëar: a new standard of soundBinaural sound represents a new step in the world of sound, just like the emergence of stereo sound and the move from stereo to surround sound. Sfëar proposes a revolution in the music market: a new technology that allows amateurs, professional sound producers and show producers, for the first time, to generate content in a 3D format, easily and compatibly with the main music production and broadcasting platforms. The Sfëar plugins and add-ons, developed by Eurecat, make it simple for you to spatialize music so that you just have to position the sound in space, without requiring a certain number of speakers. Start exploring the new sound of the future!
New live experiencesOur Sfëar Live Experiences Dome for live shows allows you to deliver new sound experiences to your audience at all kinds of events.
