Notes Before You Begin
- Please read through all of the instructions before beginning.- All of the seam allowances are 1/4” unless otherwise noted. - Width of fabric (WOF) is equal to at least 42” wide.- Press all seam allowances open after each seam is sewn, unless otherwise noted.- Remember to measure twice and cut once!
Cutting Instructions
Fabric A- Cut two strips 1-1/2” x 24-1/2” (you may cut these a bit longer and then trim).- Cut two strips 1-1/2” x WOF.- Cut ten strips 3” x WOF.- Cut five strips 6-1/2” x WOF, then subcut: - twenty-two squares 6-1/2” x 6-1/2”. - four squares 6-1/2” x 7-1/2”. - four rectangles 3” x 6-1/2”. - four rectangles 3-1/2” x 6-1/2”.- Cut four squares 3” x 3”.- Cut four rectangles 3” x 4”.
Fabric B- Cut five strips 1-1/2” x WOF.- Cut four rectangles 1-1/2” x 4”.- Cut four rectangles 1-1/2” x 3”.
Fabric C- Cut panel to 22-1/2” x 40-1/2”.
Fabric D- Cut two strips 4-1/2” x 24-1/2”.
Fabric E- Cut four squares 10-1/2” x 10-1/2”.
Fabric F- Cut eight strips 3-1/2” x WOF.
Fabric G- Cut two strips 4-1/2” x 42-1/2”.

Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Make Strip Set Blocks
- Sew a Fabric A 3” x WOF strip to either side of a Fabric B 1-1/2” x WOF strip (fig. 1). Press seam allowances toward Fabric A.
- repeat to make five strip sets.
Cut strips sets into blocks:- From the strip sets cut twenty-six 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” blocks and four 4-1/2” x 6-1/2” blocks (fig. 2).
Step 2: Make Corner Blocks- Sew a Fabric B 1-1/2” x 4” rectangle to a Fabric A 3” x 4” rectangle. - Sew a Fabric B 1-1/2” x 3” rectangle to a Fabric A 3” x 3” square.- Sew the two units together, as pictured, then sew to a Fabric A 3” x 6-1/2” (fig. 3). - Repeat to make four blocks.

Step 3: Make “Street” Borders
Follow the illustrations to make two of each border strip (fig. 4).
Border 1: Use two 6-1/2” Strip Set Blocks, one fabric A 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” square, and two Fabric A 3-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangles.
Border 2: Use four 6-1/2” Strip Sets Blocks, and three 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” squares.Border 3: Use three 6-1/2” Strip Set Blocks, two 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” squares,
two 6-1/2” x 7-1/2” rectangles and two Corner BlocksBorder 4: Use four 6-1/2” Strip Set Blocks, two 4-1/2” Strip Set Blocks,
and five fabric A 6-1/2” x 6-1/2” squares.
Step 4: Assemble Borders
- Sew Border 1 from Step 3 long sides together to a Fabric D strip, then sew a Fabric E square to each end (fig. 5).
- Repeat to make a second border unit.
- Sew Border 2 long sides together with a Fabric G strip (fig. 6).
- Repeat to make a second border unit.

Step 5: Assemble the Quilt
- Working in numerical order, sew the borders to the center panel (fig. 7). Lay the pieces flat on a table or floor and pin liberally to avoid stretching. Trim excess border edges as you go.
1 & 2: Fabric A 1-1/2” x 24-1/2” strips (trim ends after sewing).3 & 4: Fabric A 1-1/2” x WOF strips (trim ends after sewing).5 & 6: Border 2 units.7 & 8: Border 1 units.9 & 10: Border 4 strips.11 & 12: Border 3 strips.13 & 14: Fabric F 3-1/2” x WOF strips (trim ends after sewing).15 & 16: Fabric F 3-1/2” x WOF strips (trim ends after sewing).
