Funkonsweise

Strong press screw with special hard coating

• All press screws with strong flights (10 mm) over the whole length of screw flights• Press screw mounted to the hub of the drive adapter and is additionally supported in a shaft cone of the discharge regulator• Wear resistant hard coating in complete screen and pressing section guarantees a long life time, espescially if separating abrasive materials • High precision of manufacturing provides exact fitting into the screens and perfect cleaning of inner screen surface• Recoating of press screw possible

Hinged press housing with quick opening device

• Press housing including mounted press screen and discharge regulator with spring-loaded door mechanism can be quickly opened and easily moved to the side (held by a strong hinge)• Hence the filter screen and the press screw can be dismantled without removing the solid plug first• Spring loaded closing doors of the discharge regulator allow you to start the machine without forming a start-up plug first

Combination of filter and press screen

• Due to a large open screen area the radial movable filter screen allows a high hydraulic capacity in spite of small slot sizes• The very strong press screen is fixed in the press body and resists high pressures• Filter screen and press screen are separated from each other through a wear resistant intermediate plastic ring, so they do not wear at their face sides• The flights of the press screw end in this intermediate ring, so the solid plug only builds up in the press screen, therefore no pressure in the filter screen• Because the end of the flights are not located in the screens, there can be no excessive wear at this position (as known from other available separators), plastic ring takes all the wear• The wear of the press screen is minimized too, because no flights of the screw rotating inside

Revision openings in inlet and screen housing

• Lateral opening (DN 200) in the inlet housing gives access to the hub of the screw with no need for disconnecting inlet pipe (for reasons of maintenance and cleaning)• Opening(s) (DN 200) in the screen housing allow access to outer screen surface (for reasons of monitoring and cleaning)• Openings with quick release device• Exchangeable wear plates in the inlet housing provide a parallel intersection from inlet housing into the screen (no step)• Slotted holes in the wear plates avoid rotating of fibrous material with the auger

Drive adapter with axial face seal and grease chamber

• Drive adapter connects the gearbox to the press screw• High grade and efficient bearing and seal system (incl. axial face seal and grease chamber) guarantees long life time and avoids leakage and water damage• Parallel shaft helical gear motor or parallel shaft helical gear with coupling and motor available• Gearboxes with IEC or NEMA motor flange allow to use motor manufacturer of your choice

Technical Innovations Functionality

Applications

• Material to be separated is fed via inlet pipe or inlet hopper to the inlet housing of the filter screw press by pump or gravity.

• A rotating, two-pitch press screw transports the material into the filter screen, free liquid drains through the screen slots and leaves the filter screen housing via outlet pipe.

• Solids are captured by the screen and build up a filter layer on the inner screen surface. The filter layer, which allows filtering out particles with a lower diameter than the slot size of the screen, is permanently removed by the flights of the press screw and is deli- vered into the press screen.

• A solid plug starts to build up at the end of the screw flights (loca- ted in intermediate ring between filter and press screen) in the press screen of the FSP. This solid plug is squeezed out against the spring-loaded door mechanism of the solid discharge regulator. Liquid drains out through the outlet pipe of the press housing.

• Dry solids leave the FSP via the partially open doors of the dischar- ge regulator. The solid plug is constantly renewed by fresh material conveyed by the press screw.

• Agriculture and Biogas Plants: Separation of cattle, pig- and poulty slurry, substrate and digestate from biogas plants; reduction of slurry volume by 10-30 %

• Meat Processing Industry: Stomach and intestinal contents

• Pulp, Paper and Wood Processing Industry: Pulp and rejects

• Food Processing Industry: Separation of fruit and vegetable residues, dewatering of mash and draff from distilleries and breweries

• Plastic Recycling: Separation of wastes as well as wet rejects from sorters
