RootsTake in water and minerals from soil. Anchor plants in soil.

FlowersFlowers produce seeds, which form new plants.

StemLike a straw, transports water through plant. Raises the height of flowers and leaves. Brings the top of the plant closer to sunlight.

LeavesLeaves make food for the plant. To do this they need water and mineral salts from the soil. They also need sunshine and carbon dioxide.

For example: Cactus leaves are now spikes and the stem makes the food.
