Direct-connected anode baskets significantly in- crease productivity and reduce operating cost. These low-cost baskets also eliminate the wide variations in plating thickness that are common on barrel lines. These baskets eliminate anode bar cleaning and problems associated with poor electrical contact. As salt and corrosion build upon copper anode bars, regular anode baskets lose electrical contact, and the plating current drops. To compensate for the current loss, the barrel load must be reduced or the plating time increased. Direct-connected anode baskets com- pletely eliminate these problems by using a sealed power cable to deliver current from out- side the plating tank to the anode basket.
Napco Inc. offers the High Performance design, which greatly increases solution flow in and out of the barrel, decreases plating time, and increases drainage capacity. Napco also offers a wide range of portable style barrels, including custom tandem and multiplaters to meet special process requirements.

PLATING BARREL DANGLER

A plating dangler system, designed to reduce both plating costs and downtime, features disposable, slip-on dangler heads, which can be attached to the cable in seconds and removed just as quickly once metal deposit has built up on it. A new head is then attached, without disconnecting the cable, and plating can be resumed instantly. Cable life is
also prolonged significantly, since hammering to remove deposits becomes unnecessary.
