Last week we celebrated a special birthday at Bourke Public School. We celebrated our 40th birthday on our current site. The celebrations included signing Happy Birthday, cutting a cake and burying a time capsule. Congratulations to all year 5 students who presented a speech to the school community last week at the 2016 Leaders Assembly. All students did a terrific job and should be proud of their efforts. Intensive swimming continues this week. Infants will be this week and next week (a note was sent home with those studnts involved). Congratulations to all year 6 students who have now graduated from Primary school. The Year 6 Farewell was a fantastic night celebrating the achievements of our Year 6 students. Thank you to Miss Dorrington and all staff for organising the night. The Minister of Education, Mr Adrian Piccoli will be visiting Bourke Public School on Tuesday 1st December. It will be a excellent opportunity for our school to showcase our programs and achievements. During week 9 & 10 we are holding a Book Fair in the library. We are encouraging reading over the Christmas holidays by promoting a deal to buy one book and get a second book free (for the same price). Don’t forget Presentation Night is coming up on Tuesday 8th December and will start at 6pm in the High School hall. Have a super week! Kylie Pennell
Miss Milgate Well done to all the Stage 2 & 3 students that participated in the
intensive swimming program last week. In week 8 & 9 Infants students
will be having a daily swimming lesson.
This week those students who have had 92% or better will receive a letter
inviting them to either Cobar for K-2 or Dubbo for 3-6 for the annual
attendance excursions. These excursions are one of the many ways we
reward our students for excellent attendance each year.
Don’t forget Presentation night is on Tuesday 8th
December commencing
at 6pm at Bourke HS MPC. Have a wonderful week!
