  • ri-State EMC would like to thank all our

    members who participate in Operation Round Up. By choosing to round up their electric bill each month to the nearest dollar, they put their pennies to work. Contributing members have allowed our TSEMC Foundation Board of Directors to grant just over $500,000 to enrich the com-munities we serve.

    “Operation Round Up fits perfectly with the prin-ciples of our cooperative. By pooling our individual resources, we make a big difference for our communi-ties as a whole,” says Stacy Chastain, Manager of Tri-State EMC. “While individual contributions average only 50 cents a month, when added together with my contribution and those of many other TSEMC members, we can make a big impact in the communities we serve.”

    For the average cost of one cup of specialty coffee per year ($6), our contributing members have helped fill com-munity food pantries. Their combined pennies, nickels,

    The Fannin County Special Olympics received a grant from Tri-State EMC’s Operation Round Up (ORU) program. These athletes enjoyed a bowling outing at Fannin Lanes in February 2019.

    dimes and quarters provide hope, shelter and comfort for children and families in need and crisis. Schools in our com-munities have received funds to support technology and literacy programs.

    With your continued support, Operation Round Up will continue to grow and enrich the communities in which we live and work.

    Tri-State EMC will be closed Friday, April 19, 2019, in observance

    of Good Friday. We wish everyone a Happy Easter!

    Students in Ben Sexton’s class will participate in the Mad Science program at West Fannin Elementary School, thanks to an ORU grant.

    The Boys & Girls Club of Fannin County will use the ORU grant to help with their children’s programs.

    Tom Ledford Retires from Tri-State EMC

    fter spending several decades in the power

    industry, Tom Ledford has retired from Tri-State EMC (TSEMC). Tom began his career in the electrical field in 1969 as a ground man for Georgia Power Co. While at Georgia Power, he also worked as a truck driver and a lineman.

    On April 3, 1978, Tom began his journey with TSEMC as a lineman. He then became an engineer and retired in December 2018 as chief records and staking engineer.

    Tom and his wife, Zenobia (“Z”), have two children, Keith (Trish) Led-ford and Alison (Darren) Danner. He is also the proud grandfather of Tommy, Hayden and Tatum.

    Tom says he was glad he was able to work doing something he enjoyed for 50 years. His retirement plans include taking it easy and traveling.

    Enjoy your retirement, Tom!
