Lesson Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

(a) Name at least three different natural disasters.(b) Suggest ways to help the victims.

Teaching and Learning Activities:

Set induction Stimulate the pupils prior knowledge- role play – guess.

Ask pupils to role-play some disasters that they know.

Pre-activity Teacher shows Powerpoint presentations on the typical natural disasters.

Discuss the situation in the picture – relate with pupils knowledge.

While activity Get pupils to name some of the natural disasters that they know.

Have them explain what they know about the disasters – how they occur, effects of the disasters, etc

Get pupils to look at the pictures on TB pg 104. Get them to describe the situations. Then, in groups of 4 to 5, pupils discuss ways to

help victims of natural disasters. Set a situation for each group.

Post activity Pupils present their discussion to the class using mind maps on how they could help people who are in need after the natural disasters happen.

Closure Pupils share their experience encountering any natural disaster in their life.
