Often cancer has a way of crashing into a person’s life and things start spinning out of control. Cancer can also cause old problems to resurface as well as bringing new worries and concerns. If cancer has upset your personal life, your marriage or family relationships or even your children, we are here for you. To schedule free individual, couple, or family counseling please call 317-257-1505 and ask about our counseling services.
COUNSELING SERVICES
Have you recently been diagnosed with a new or recurrent cancer? Or are you needing to make decisions about different treatment options? Do you have an appointment scheduled to meet with your doctor? Cancer Support Community now offers a question listing service to help you prepare for your upcoming oncology visit. The goals of this program are to help you communicate clearly with your medical team, ask critical questions about your options and help ensure that your treatment decisions fit your personal hopes and goals. This service is to help you go prepared to that next doctors visit and to make the most of that valuable time. To make an appointment, please call Kyle Stepler, LMHCA at 317-499-3077 or email him at [email protected] and tell him you want to meet to make your own question list to take with you to your next doctor’s appointment.
Do you have so many worries and concerns you don’t know which place to start getting yourself help on your cancer journey? Have you recently completed treatment and are feeling lost and
Cancer Support Community Central Indiana will be participating in a pilot study with our headquarters to determine how cancer impacts patients and caregivers lives in Indiana. Do you want to have a voice on how cancer has affected you? We will be using the information to plan programming and create new education programs once the final Indiana results are received. We will also be using the data to inform Indiana policy and lawmakers about the concerns of Indiana residents. Headquarters also plans to use the data to help them guide further global research projects, so Indiana representation is vitally important. We will be holding several Cancer Experience Registry days in the next several months. The first will be held on May 15th from 9am-6pm. Please join us as we give voice to Indiana concerns. Moving Beyond is a 12-week program to help cancer survivors thrive and live a healthy life after treatment. This program provides a unique approach combining physical, emotional, and spiritual health, including time with an oncology nurse, personal trainer, and a licensed mental health counselor. Moving Beyond is free of charge to those who may be in or are currently transitioning into post-treatment survivorship or maintenance therapy. You are more than welcome to start at any week of the program. We hope to see you there!
