gABineTe

O gabinete é um item que aloja todos os componentes do computador, podendo variar de acordo com a placa-mãe (motherboard). Os modelos de gabinete são diversos, sendo os mais comuns o Minitorre, Torre e SFF.

Hoje, o gabinete possui dois formatos: O formato horizontal é mais conhecido como desktop e o formato vertical mais conhecido como torre ou minitorre.

O formato vertical é um dos melhores, pois oferece melhor circulação do ar.

COMPONENTES ExTERNOS

MOniTOr

Componente de visualização. Os monitores, antigamente, eram mono-cromáticos e trabalhavam com tubo de imagem, evoluíram então para os modelos com padrão de cores que chegam a 32 milhões e tamanhos de tela que chegam a mais de “21 polegadas”. Os monitores que utilizam tubo de imagem praticamente não são mais comercializados, pois foram substituídos por monitores de cristal líquido (LCD), que emitem uma quantia menor de radiação, além de consumir bem menos energia. Os monitores de LCD vem sendo substituídos aos poucos pelos monitores de LED, estes com espessura bem inferior aos de LCD, e capa-cidade de produzir imagens mais coloridas, com menor consumo de energia, os monitores atuais podem chegar a mais de 42”, e muitos desses tem interface TV/Monitor.

Já a placa off-board não traz controladores que determinam essas funções, sendo assim, é necessário a compra das placas de vídeo, som, fax modem e rede, separadamente.

PLACA-Mãe

Esta é uma peça muito importante do seu computador, pois todos os outros componentes dependem dela.

Hoje existem dois tipos de placa-mãe: a placa on-board e a placa offboard, a mais utilizada atualmente é a on-board.

A placa on-board traz um ou mais controladores que determinam as funções de vídeo, som, fax modem ou rede, integrados nela mesma, não sendo necessária a compra dos componentes acima citados.

A maioria das placas possuem a memória cache, ela foi criada como uma solução para o lento acesso à memória RAM. As memórias RAMs, depois de um tempo começaram a ficar lentas para enviar dados relacionados aos processadores.

O controlador cache funciona da seguinte forma, ele lê o conteúdo de uma memória RAM e copia uma porção para a memória cache. Com este procedimento o processador, ao invés de ler alguns dados na memória RAM, ele vai ler a cópia que se encontra na memória Cache.

É onde o computador armazena as instruções necessárias ao funcionamento do sistema operacional e programas. O processador precisa de espaço para arrumar instruções contidas no programa e executá-las rapidamente. Todo programa executado está na memória RAM, seja um software antivírus, um protetor de tela, uma impressão, etc.

Em termos de hardware, são pequenos pentes que são encaixados nos slots de memória das placas-mãe. A capacidade total de memória depende do pente e do número de slots na motherboard (placa-mãe), geralmente 2 ou 4 slots. É na memória que ficam todas as informações utilizadas durante as operações de escrita ou leitura nas unidades de armazenamento e os programas cache de software para hard-disk, drives virtuais e vírus.

Existem diferentes tipos de memorias RAM, além de formatos.

Toda placa-mãe possui um chip de Memória ROM, mais conhecido como BIOS. Nesta memória encontramos também o programa CMOS, o qual configura o funcionamento da BIOS.

A BIOS testa os hardwares quando o computador é ligado, inicializa os circuitos da placa-mãe, dá início ao Boot (inicialização) e executa funções de acesso solicitados pelo sistema operacional.

A SDRAM já foi considerada um padrão, mas hoje em dia, as mais utilizadas e conhecidas são as memórias DDR SDRAM, que são na verdade memórias SDRAM duplas que trabalham com tempo de acesso de 1,6 GB/s ou mais, de acordo com a tecnologia empregada.

A ligação da fonte pode danificar todos os componentes do computador se for ligada de forma errada.

Para conectá-los de forma correta devemos encaixar os cabos de alimentação de forma que os quatro fios pretos existentes no conector fiquem juntos.

Obs: Este é um exemplo de conector de placas AT.

Para conectar a fonte nas placas ATx é muito mais simples, pois este conector possui apenas uma forma de encaixe.

Como dito anteriormente, a fonte possui vários conectores próprios para alimentar, por exemplo: drives de disquete, CD-ROM e HD. Estes conectores possuem apenas uma posição de encaixe.

Os conectores menores encaixam-se nos drives de disquete.

Depois de instalado o processador, é preciso encaixar o pente de memória RAM.

Obs.: Caso você tenha apenas uma memória, encaixe-a no slot (denominado de Slot 1).

Para que o pente de memória encaixe perfeitamente, pressione-o até que as travas se fechem.

Obs.: Caso não fique encaixado corretamente, o computador não ligará correta-mente.

No caso de existir outros pentes, siga os mesmos procedimentos. Com a memória instalada, falta finalizar a instalação dos componentes, colocando o Dissipador de calor e o Cooler para que o processador não sofra um superaquecimento e queime.

Cuidado para não danificar a placa-mãe. Com o Cooler e o Dissipador encaixados, ligue o fio que acompanha o Cooler em um encaixe denominado de CPU FAN (encontrado na placa-mãe).

Antes de colocar o Dissipador e o Cooler, pegue a pasta térmica que vem junto com o Cooler e passe sobre o processador, em uma camada não excessiva.

Depois de colocada a pasta térmica, encaixe o Cooler que já vem fixado a um Dissipador. Para encaixar, use as duas travas do dissipador que devem ser baixadas e fixadas na placa-mãe.
