MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT : PERIOD FROM 16 APR 2021 to 15 MAY 2021 1. English Fest : April 2021. English fest for classes 1 st to 12 th was organized from 10 April to 28 April 2021. All the students of classes 1 to 12 participated in the activities as per their talent and choice. MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT : PERIOD FROM 16 APR 2021 to 15 MAY 2021

1. English Fest : April 2021. English fest for classes 1st to 12th was organized from 10 April to 28 April 2021. All the students of classes 1 to 12 participated in the activities as per their talent and choice. The activities for „English fest‟ were as follows:- (a) English calligraphy

(l) Debate 2. Students were asked to send their videos and screenshots of their activities to the concerned class teachers and results were also declared according to the set criteria.

3. Elimination of Single Use Plastic. A concrete program is being organised to make the students aware of the hazards of plastic consumption in their daily life and how they can contribute at their level to save Mother Earth. Keeping in mind to aim the elimination of plastic bags, Army Public School Jhansi conducted various activities in the month of April for classes 1st to 10th & 12th . 4. Slogan Writing. A Slogan Writing competition was held for classes 1 & 2 on the theme „Saving Our Mother Earth by Avoiding the Use of Plastic’. Students showcased their talent and sent screenshot of their activity to the concerned class teachers.

5. Calligraphy. A Calligraphy competition was held for classes 3 to 5 on the topic

„Nature - Plastics and its Effect‟.

6. Drafting Display Advertisement. Students of classes 4 & 5 drafted attractive and eye catchy advertisements on the theme “ Avoiding the use of plastic or Home for stray animals” that would influence and motivate the mass.

7. Poster Making Competition. A Poster Making competition was conducted for classes 6 to 8 & 12 in the month of April. Students displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters on the theme „Say No To Plastic Bags‟.

8. Extempore Competition. Extempore competition for classes 9th & 10th was conducted wherein the students made their videos on the topic „Say No to Plastic Bags‟ and sent to the concerned teachers.

9. 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Government of India has decided to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, at national and international level to propagate his message. The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education is conducting various activities in schools for commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Keeping in mind this purpose, Army Public School Jhansi is conducting various activities in the month of April‟2021. 10. Recitation. A Recitation competition was held for classes 1 & 2 on the theme “Father of Nation”. Students sent their videos reciting a poem wherein they enthusiastically recited the poems with perfection and proper pronunciation.

11. Speech. Students of classes 3 - 5 sent their clear and audible videos of 2 minutes, exhibiting their oratory skills on the theme of “I am Gandhi ”.

12. Collage Making. Collage Making Competition was organised for the students of classes 6 to 8 on „Incidents/ Movements: Pre-Independence‟ to imbibe a feeling of patriotism. The enthusiastic students got an opportunity to exhibit their creativity.

13. Book Review. The Book Review conducted for classes 9th and 10th gave an opportunity to learn how Gandhiji became one of the most recognisable figures in Indian Independence movement and one of the world's foremost models of non-violent resistance. The students were asked to read the book 'My Experiments with Truth 'written by Mahatma Gandhi and present a book review. The students participated with great vigour as they got an opportunity to get the detailed account of Gandhiji self-penned essays on his experiments that covers all aspects of Mahatma's spiritual life.

14. Documentary Creation. Documentary film making was conducted for class 12th.

This gave an opportunity to learn and explore about our father of the nation . The students

participated with great enthusiasm and enjoyed thoroughly in creating and making their own

film presenting different phases of the life of Mahatma Gandhi in the form of a documentary

film .

15. 75th Independence Celebration. Taking inspiration from the words of our honourable Prime Minister to commemorate 75 years of India‟s Independence which falls on 15th August 2022, our country is celebrating the spirit of our freedom struggle in a befitting manner as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.This festival would embody the glimpse of the glory of Sanatan Bharat and also the glow of modern India. This event will showcase our achievements of these 75 years to the world and also give a framework for resolution to us for the next 25 years. So keeping the great thought in mind our school too has organized a number of activities in the month of April‟2021. 16. Dance Competition. Dance is the most enthusiastic and expressive means to shower oneself. Adhering to its long lasting impact a Dance Competition was held for classes 1-5. Students displayed their brilliant dance/ action songs performances on the theme “We are Indians”.

17. Art and Craft Competition. Art and Craft competition was held for classes 1st to 8th on the theme “Tricolour”. Students showcased their creativity, making craft work like clay modelling, collage making and quilling work. Children participated earnestly and came up with amazing ideas.

18. Role Play. Role Play on „Famous Leader‟ was conducted for classes 3rd to 5th wherein students got an opportunity to imitate their famous leaders. They recorded their videos with great zeal and sent it to their class teachers.

19. Special Assembly : Ram Navmi. Army Public School Jhansi celebrated Ram Navmi, the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, with great zeal and fervour. A special online assembly was held on 20 April 2021 by the students of class VII. The programme commenced with the chanting of mantras by the students followed by a speech on Ram Navmi. Melodious bhajans were sung by the students with religious fervour.

20. International Earth Day. An Online Special Assembly was conducted on the International Earth day on 22nd April‟21 by the students of Class 6 to support environmental protection. The program commenced with a speech followed by a mono act (Chhoti si Seekh). A video on the topic „Some Good Habits to Save Our Resources‟ and paintings related to the topic were displayed. The program was very impressive, interesting and informative.

21. Labour Day. Labour Day, also called “May Day” or “International Workers Day” was celebrated on 1st May‟21 to pay respect and recognize the efforts of millions of labours and helpers. An online special assembly was conducted by the students of class 5 in which a small skit on “How We Should Treat Helpers” was shown by Lakshya & Samaira followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by Anandi & Jiya. A speech was also delivered by Lavishka,Yashika, Akshita and Animesh. The program ended with a vote of thanks especially for our workers and helpers at school.

22. AWES Day Celebration. On the occasion of 38th Raising day of AWES, Army Public

School Jhansi conducted a special online assembly on 29 April 2021 to celebrate the AWES

Day. Shauryavardhan Singh Jaiswal of class 10 A threw a light on the foundation of the

AWES and its achievements in these last 38 years. Patriotic song was presented by Manvi

and Kishan Singh followed by group dance & group song by the students of class 6 , 7 & 8.

The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Sidhanth of 9E. To commemorate

this occasion various competitions were also held for classes 1st to 10th & 12th, like Thumb

Painting for classes 1&2 ,Bookmark Making for classes 3 to 5, Folder Making with AWES logo

for classes 6 to 8 and Canvas Painting for classes 9 to 12.

23. FDRC Webinar. An FDRC webinar was conducted from 19th April‟21 to 23rd April‟21 to train the Coordinators of Primary Wing (CPW) of all APSs & to keep them abreast with the new developments in the field of primary education. Mrs.Shilpi Tripathi, Primary Wing Coordinator, represented APS Jhansi. This webinar dealt with the role of Head Mistress/CPW, onboarding children into primary schooling, curriculum mapping at foundational level & preparatory level and implementation of Inclusive Education in APS at primary level. The participants were also briefed about seamless transition of APPS learners including the planning of academic framework for schools. This webinar proved to be an extremely interesting and fruitful experience.

24. AIFORINDIA 1.0 - A One-Day Online Workshop on Python : Programming Skills

by AICTE and GUVI. AICTE and GUVI, an IIT-Madras Incubated Company (NEAT

shortlisted product) have collaborated to launch India‟s Biggest Coding Revolution -

#AIforIndia 1.0 that aims to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD by upskilling 10 Lakh

participants with Python Programming skills in a One-Day Online workshop. This program is

aligned with the broader vision to „make India lead among the Top 3 countries in Artificial

Intelligence.‟ The webinar was conducted on 24th April2021. Prashant Chaturvedi, HOD

Computer Science, had attended the webinar/event and got the participation certificate.

25. Webinar on ‘Elucidating the Assessment Criteria - Class X. CBSE in association with National Progressive School Conference conducted a webinar on „Elucidating the Assessment Criteria –Class X‟ on 6th May 2021 for all the Principals of schools affiliated to CBSE and the committee members of Result Committee –Class X. Mrs. Meenakshi Panjwani, Principal APS Jhansi, and all the Result Committee members attended the webinar which was organised on Youtube - NPSIndia. The webinar dealt with the policy for tabulation of marks for class –X board‟s exam-2021 based on internal assessment conducted by schools.

26. Summer Break. Considering the present Covid situation the Summer Break has commenced from 1st May 2021 to 20th June 2021. School will reopen on 21st June for classes 1 to 9th and classes 10th and 12th will have regular online classes from 10th June onwards. Class wise holiday homework was uploaded on the school website and a copy of the same was also forwarded in the Class WhatsApp Groups. 27. Video Conferencing On Understanding Extremism: 10 May 2021. A Video conferencing was conducted on 10th May 2021. Three schools participated in it, namely I.C. Leonardo da Vinci Italy, J. M. International Dwarika and Army Public School Jhansi, India .14 students from APS Jhansi along with the in-charge Mrs Rajni Verma, participated in it and were assisted by Mr Jitendra Singh and Mrs A V Shailja. Technical support was given by Mr Prashant Chaturvedi for the same. The agenda for the conference was 'Understanding Extremism'. Ms Nonica was the felicitator and started the conference discussing specifically extremism, its types and its effects on human society and individual people .This was followed by a question round and lastly reflections were taken by students from all three schools. The students enthusiastically took part in the conference and were really happy to be a part of it. They also shared their points and learnt the real meaning of extremism and how it can be dealt with. It was a great success.
