Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh – On 1st January, 2018 under the Kaushal Vikas Yojana,
training was given to street food vendors of varanasi by the National Association of
Street Vendors of India (NASVI). After the training, certificates and dustbins were
distributed among the vendors. The Chief Guest in the event was Hon'ble Minister of
Uttar Pradesh – Shri. Nilkanth Saurabh Shrivastav ji. Saurabh Srivastava was present as
a special guest and the program was started with the lighting of lamp by Professor
Kumud Ranjan ji of Basanta Kanya College and Ranjana Gaur - Secretary of the SAARC
Institute.
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – Lucknow along with
14 other ULBs indentified 1.96 lakh vendors to be
surveyed for ID cards and vending space.

Patna, Bihar - On 6th December, 2018 street vendors of Patna, Vishal Anand from
NASVI, Dhananjay ji from Ashray Abhiyaan and street vendors from Gandhi Maidan,
Anisabad and Kargil Patna, met the Divisional Commissioner from Maurya Lok Nagar
Nigam. They discussed with SDM the eviction of street vendors on the name of
encroachment.
Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh - On 6th December, 2018, ID cards were given to the TVC
members of Jabalpur.

Shillong, Meghalaya - On 7th January, 2018 President of Shillong roadside hawkar
association and member of NASVI Mr Sarif Ahmed has passed away and in his respect all
the members of the association kept the shops closed.
Haridwar – Uttarakhand – On 8th January, 2018 Mr. Sanjay Chopra was elected as
President of Laghu Vyapaar Association for the fifth time.
Haridwar, Uttarakhand – Mr. Sanjay Chopra along with the street vendors met the
evictions of vendors in Haridwar in the name of encroachment.
On 20th January, 2018 Vendors Day was celebrated all across the country.

In Mysore, Karnataka, vendors Day was celebrated on 31st January, 2017. Vendors were
given memento.
Guwahati, Assam – On 30th January, 2018, TVC meeting was organized with Municipal
Corporations Commissioner, Traffic Commissioner of Guwahati, ADC advocate, NGOs,
NULM and Vendors’ members

Bangalore, Karnataka – On 30th January, 2018 KBBVS Coalition and I.A.S Officers
discussed the release of identity card for street vendors at the Initiation meeting.
Mount Abu, Rajasthan -
TVC Meeting was organized

January, 2018
Mothari, Bihar – On 28th January, 2018 an event was organised by Street Vendor Town
Level Federation of Motihari. TLF now became stronger, they take up their issues and
demands to government and governance, organizing large programs, invite central
cabinet minister, MPs and state Minister and officers. Shri. Radhamohan Singh - Central
Agriculture Minister, Shri. Pramod Kumar - Paryatan Mantri were present at the event.

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh – On 21st January, 2018 training of street vendors was
organsied where they were they educated about the harmful effect of use of polythene
bag.

Bangalore, Karnataka – On 12th January, 2018, 24,000 ID Cards were to be
distributed to the Street Vendors in Bengaluru.
Pune, Maharashtra – Vendors protested against the eviction of street vendors on 23rd
January, 2018. They also met the Commissioner regarding this issue.
Delhi – Delhi government made draft rules of Delhi for Street Vending Act – 2014.

Jalgaon, Maharashtra - The meeting of the TVC was due to be held in the corporation
auditorium at 4 o'clock on 31/01/2018, after a gap of 2 years, but the meeting was
dismissed due to non-completion of the quorum, all the representatives of the street
vendors and other 3-4 people were present.
Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh – training of street vendors was organized in Jabalpur on
31st January, 2018.

9th Edition of National Street Food Festival
NASVI Team campaigning for the National Street Food Festival 2018
National Street Food Festival presented by National Association of Street Vendors of India
(NASVI) and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), is a vibrant
representation of the myriad tastes of the country, complete with the exclusive delicacies
and food-items belonging to the streets of Indian states. This year National Street Food
Festival was organised from 12th to 14th January, 2018.
