ARIES SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (March 20-April 19)

As the month opens, on the Full Moon of December 3 you might take a quick trip for your work that will come up suddenly. You will have a goal to complete, and you may feel the pressure to complete it during December’s first week. Even so, getting out of the office and into a new setting will be good for you. If you are in college or graduate school, you’ll have exams, and you’ll be studying hard. Mars, your ruler, will oppose Uranus on December 1, so your nerves will be on edge and you may snap at anyone who even looks at you the wrong way.

Adding to the wild and wooly atmosphere of the first week, Neptune will create confusion through unclear client dictates, missing facts in contracts, and if dealing with people abroad, possible meaning lost in translation. Despite doubts, you will pull through because you’ll be methodical – your ruler, Mars, will be in sync with Saturn and will make you so.

Mercury will retrograde from December 3 to December 22. Allow extra time to shop for holiday gifts. You may be counting on having a modicum of personal time to use to hit the stores, but time for yourself will rapidly evaporate due to an increasing workload. If you shop online, don’t be a last minute Nelly, for express shippers will be overwhelmed, and many shipments will be late. Add to this picture the likelihood of wild weather, and the outcome will be that you will see full force the havoc Mercury Retrograde can produce.

On a happy note, if you are invited to a holiday party on Saturday, December 2, accept, for it is likely to be to be one of the most magical of the season. Jupiter, planet of good fortune, will receive shimmering vibrations from imaginative Neptune, and together they will spin a dream of an evening, perfect for feeling and expressing love.

More travel will come up at the New Moon, December 18, and with Saturn conjunct the Sun, you may be swamped with duties that you need to polish off before you head to the airport. At the same time your sweetheart / spouse or you will be in an unusually quiet thoughtful mode or feeling overwhelmed by the duties of the season. Don’t make demands on your partner, for everyone will be feeling fragile, and you may push your

relationship to the brink. At the same time, your parent may need your assistance.

You may be looking forward to a leisurely holiday, but need to put that idea temporarily on ice, for in a month with the planetary patterns going haywire like it will be in December, life will intervene, and everyone, it seems, will need your attention. Your sense of humor will get you through, and your holiday time off will be all the sweeter because you worked hard, and achieved much.

On the verge of your departure for the holiday, December 19, Saturn will move into Capricorn for a three-year stay. This is the first time since 1988-1991 that Saturn will visit your prestigious tenth house of career honors, awards, and achievement. According to the office gossip, you are about to get a major promotion and impressive title – this will turn out to be true. The industry announcement will come in mid-January, but a large financial bonus is likely to show up at month’s end or near January 8, thanks to the impending conjunction between active Mars and lucky Jupiter. Jupiter and Pluto will be in fine orientation too, adding to your optimistic financial outlook.

Romantically, on December 27, Mars will contact Neptune and will bring on an enchanting holiday evening, Love and happiness will flow, just in time to celebrate the coming New Year in an exquisite setting of beauty perfect for exchanging words of love.

TAURUS SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (April 20- May 20)

Mercury Retrograde will give you problems with holiday shopping, so you might have to resort to sending gift cards. It’s not a time to buy any electronic gifts because Mercury rules the moving parts in machines, and it also rules judgment – and yours will be off. It’s too late for those purchases now, for no matter when you purchase during this month, something will be wrong with the item you buy and your recipient will have to send it back, or worse, it will never quite please your recipient. When you buy your gift cards, photocopy each one, front and back, staple the two pages together, and write the recipient’s name on the photocopy. You will need a copy of the bar code on the back. File them away, and should any of your recipients lose their card, you can get it replaced.

Before you can be free of Saturn’s nearly endless period of financial constraints and tests, you will have to get through the New and Full Moons this month. Both are due to hit financial areas of your chart. They shouldn’t bring negative news. Money will continue to be on your mind throughout the month. A gaggle of planets are migrating into your eighth house of other people’s money, to become noticeable by the New Moon, December 18. This house rules mortgage, credit cards, student loans, venture capital, insurance payouts, and the like. Saturn will conjunct the Sun and moon, and suggests that banks may nit-pick about who will be granted a loan, so make sure your

application is letter perfect, with no inaccuracies. This also suggests you want to put yourself on a disciplined financial path. Don’t overdo, dear Taurus – you seem fairly obsessed. A visit to your accountant may be in order, to do savvy tax planning and to set up a savings plan. By meeting with your accountant now, before tax seasons, you may discover you qualify for legal deductions that will lower your tax liability.

Finances are on your mind, and you are determined to create a stable monetary base for yourself, not only for now but for the many years ahead. The Full Moon, December 3, will bring a financial matter to culmination. You will likely be paying bills, but you may also see money come in. Neptune will be in hard angle to the Full Moon, suggesting that participating in holiday celebrations may be costly. You may decide to pass on some and center your attention on your favorite. At the same time, keep in mind that celebrating holidays need not break the bank – you can find clever hacks to still have fun. What matters is that you enjoy the company of friends and family. At the end of the day, the emotional warmth you feel is what gives the holidays, and your life, meaning.

A more important date will be the New Moon, December 18, just one day prior to Saturn’s departure out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn. The Sun and New moon will be precisely conjunct Saturn, a suggestion that you may be ready to commit to a serious, long-term financial commitment such as the purchase of a house. You may be applying for a mortgage or home improvement loan, or you may take on the care of a relative who desperately needs your financial help. Although Saturn’s fingerprints will be all over this new moon, Uranus, the planet of unexpected developments, is supremely aligned to Saturn, bringing stability and financial luck to you when you least expect this to happen. Uranus is the planet that naturally rules Taurus’ career, so you will get many lucky breaks to build business and create a name for yourself in your industry.

More good news is likely to come December 10, when Mercury, currently in a financial house in Sagittarius, receives golden vibrations Uranus when the latter sends a surprise beam.

Happily, Jupiter, planet of good fortune, and Pluto, the powerhouse financial planet, two very slow moving planets, will be in sync, and are already close enough to help you (within four degrees). These two Titans of the planetary lineup will hit mathematical perfection on January 15 next month. This indicates that you are entering a strong and rewarding financial period. If you represent people, say, as an agent, or if you are a talent who is represented by an agent or manager, you will do exceptionally well. My point is, you seem to need a middleman to help you see financial reward, at least in 2018.

Uranus will be beautifully oriented to the New Moon’s crown of stars in your eighth house on December 18, so a surprise influx of cash should make you very happy. Among the planets that Uranus will contact will be Saturn, the planet that had given you such angst. Uranus and Saturn rarely

cooperate, but have been all through 2017, and will continue their bond in most of 2018. Now all things are moving in the right direction. You see? If you have worked hard to get to a better place, it will happen.

Once Venus enters Capricorn and your ninth house of travel, the month will lighten up. You are moving toward a Full Moon, January 1, in your ninth house of international travel, so you may be taking a holiday in a mountainous location that requires a passport for entry. That Full Moon will be close to Saturn too, so everything about this month will be measured and carefully planned. Mercury won’t be retrograde anymore by month’s end, and you may look forward to getting a needed change of scene.

Even if you don’t go away, the Full Moon will heighten feelings, January 1, and with your ruler, Venus, very close to Saturn, you may be getting engaged at the very moment the sky lights up with fireworks to celebrate the arrival of the New Year 2018. Additionally, Mars will be getting close to Jupiter in a once-in-two year conjunction, and each time these two meet, they always meet in a different house and sign. For you these two luminaries, Mars, the planet of action, and Jupiter, the planet of happiness and luck, will team up in your seventh house of people you work with and all your relationships.

GEMINI SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (May 20- June 20)

As you enter the month, Mercury, your Guardian planet, will go retrograde from December 3 to December 22, making it vital that you be deliberate about all the communications you do, from the simplest to the most complicated ones. Misunderstandings will be on the rise, and you will face delays in shipping and travel. Gemini if possible shop early for holiday gifts. Aim for clarity, and accuracy: Double check addresses for shipments, and that your flights are on time, that your hotel accommodations are confirmed before you leave the house. Organization will be the key to get through the month.

The Full Moon on December 3 will be in Gemini, bringing to conclusion something that is vitally important to you. At the time, Saturn will be conjunct Mercury, putting you in serous mode – you may be contemplating engagement or a move to a new address, and weighing the pros and cons of the decision. Happily, Uranus, planet of surprise, will bring you luck when you least expect it – your friend is likely to provide the key. In a month filled with smoke and mirrors, Neptune will not be helpful, for this planet will fog facts, so making an informed decision will be near impossible.

Wait until the New Moon December 18 to get more facts. Yet you seem to be about to enter into a highly financial discussion by mid-January, but December will not be the time to commit to any financially binding agreements. If waiting for January is too long, you can begin to act on goals one week beyond December 22, the date Mercury will go direct.

This month will be more romantic for attached Gemini than those who are single, but if you are looking for love, you may like December 20 when Uranus will send a lovely missive to Venus, bubbling up fun and conversation. You may meet someone who is older than you – see how it works out.

The New Moon of December 18 will light your partnership / marriage sector, opening talks about an engagement or partnership in love, or you may want to draw up official papers for a business alliance. With Saturn on the New Moon, December 22, your workload will be heavy in the weeks to follow, and, oddly, money will be temporarily tight, and cash flow may concern you, especially near December 21. Should you find that checks due you are late, have a contingency plan in place to cope with financial obligations at month’s end.

Saturn will move into your financial eighth house, ruling money outside of salary, including commissions, royalties, licensing fees, insurance payout, child support, divorce, and other court settlements. Taxes, mortgage, credit cards, student loans, and such also come under the eighth house too. In the coming three years, this taskmaster planet will ask you to be realistic about money management. Saturn will warn you not to take chances with tax deductions, and when applying for a loan, to borrow only what you absolutely need and feel confident that you can pay back over time. If you work with Saturn, you will end this period far richer than when you entered it.

Mars’ impending move to meet fortunate Jupiter on January 8, to be felt by the end of December, will ease this situation. Also, in January, powerhouse planet Pluto’s signal to Jupiter, planet of good fortune, shows that despite all your doubts and fears, you’ll soon be in the chips again.

CANCER SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (June 21 - July 22)

The month opens with a Full Moon on December 3, in Gemini at 12 degrees, so pace yourself, as it appears your workaday world will be very hectic, requiring a great deal of energy. To meet the pressure of deadlines, you may be running down your resistance to colds and flu. Ask your doctor if you should schedule a flu shot (it takes two weeks to work), and if you should take any special vitamins.

This Full Moon, December 3, might bring a secret to light, and if this proves true for you, when you hear about it, it seems someone has tried hard to withhold this information from you. Neptune will be in hard angle to that Full Moon and Sun (called a 90-degree square in astrology), and that tends to act like a lever to force information to the surface. Even if you don’t discover a secret with Neptune so active, it will be a confusing time.

In addition to Neptune taking a strong role, a planet known for a propensity to create a smoke-and-mirrors environment, we also have Mercury turning retrograde from December 3 to December 22. Mercury is

known to cause miscommunications too. Although this planet does not turn until December 3, we always feel the delays and lapses in judgment and in memory at least two weeks ahead of its turn retrograde. Keep this in mind: Mercury acts his wildest at the start and end dates of the retrograde – I call these the bookend dates – so by all means, you need to be especially careful to stay away from those dates. I often see my friends signing papers, for example, the day before Mercury retrogrades and the day after it goes direct, and then they wonder why things went very wrong later. Keep a large space of days from the start and end dates of Mercury Retrograde.

Here is more exciting news: Mars! In this sense, Mars is a really helpful planet to you because he will add sexy warmth to your aura while in Scorpio, from December 9 to January 26. You will have amazing magnetism, for sure. Having both Jupiter AND Mars in this house is sensational for you. Jupiter will actually join with Mars on January 8 in perfect and rare mathematical alignment, but this month, by the last week of December, you will feel these two planets building energy as they move to perfect mathematical alignment next month.

The alignment of Jupiter and Mars this month will also boost your creativity on the job, so in the last week, as these two luminaries move closer to each other, set aside time to think, to write down ideas as they come to you without trying to edit them – let your creative ideas flow.

Christmas Day, December 25, will bring the moon to Pisces, a lovely day for you, where everything will go right. (Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you will love this day.)

I should point out a potentially difficult day, December 21, when you may be criticized by the one you love romantically, or by your business colleague / collaborator. This is not a day to take risks – do not ask for favors or special treatment. Do your best to avoid interactions. I know you are thinking, well, everyone has email, and yes, that is true. I just want to say that in a day or two any disappointment you feel will blow over.

Now let’s turn to another wonderful day for romance, which will be December 27, when Mars in Scorpio will reach out to Neptune in Pisces. This is a glamorous aspect, perfect for dinner out in a festively decorated romantic restaurant, for looking at city lights, or having private time with the one you love on a holiday hideaway.

New Year’s Eve should be special too, because by then, Jupiter and Mars will be so close, they will be within 3 tiny degrees (out of 360 degrees), so that will add to your fun. Here is more information! New Year’s Day brings a Full Moon in Cancer, 12 degrees. Something vitally important to you is coming to culmination, so you have a big start to the New Year.

Remember with Mercury Retrograde, December 3 to 22, you will have difficulty in finding more helpers. Details will count more than ever and only the eagle-eyed will rise above the month’s commotion. At the same time, express shippers that you depend on will be feeling the strain, for a higher number than usual shipments will be late or missing.

LEO SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (July 23- August 22)

Mercury will be retrograde from December 3 to December 22, making it vital that you be sure you are seeing the world through crystal clear eyeglasses. Also, resist jumping to conclusions, as communication will be scrambled almost the entire month. Go the distance to be sure you have understood messages as they were intended.

If shopping for holiday gifts, start early. You will be safer giving gift cards as long as you know the shops your recipients enjoy frequenting. It would be a shame to give a gift card that will never be used by your friend or relative. Returns of clothing and other presents go sky high when purchased during Mercury Retrograde.

The Full Moon, December 3, may bring a holiday party, and by all means, make it a point to go. With Jupiter and Neptune in sync, your host will create a magical setting for guests, complete with tiny lights, candles, flowers, and fabulously interesting guests. Conversations will be animated with a Full Moon in Gemini.

Like all good plots, there is always a twist, and for you, it’s a fun one. Uranus, the planet of unexpected breakthroughs and happy, exciting news, will send a very friendly beam to the Sun, your ruler, as well as to the New Moon and Saturn. Saturn could have the power to stabilize the relationship, while Uranus will add a zing of excitement.

If you are attached, one sparkling day will be December 16, when the Sun and Uranus will be perfectly in sync. You are ruled by the Sun, so when planets come by to meet with the Sun, that makes headline news. This day brings surprises from your mate, steady partner, or even possibly from a business partner or collaborator. Long-distance travel may be coming up soon, too, and it will be to a place that you’ll find thrilling.

As said earlier, Saturn will enter Capricorn for a three-year stay on December 19 or 20, depending on your time zone. It won’t leave until December 17, 2020. In the sixth house, you will be challenged to streamline your work methods so that you can be more productive. You will learn how to use software to become more efficient, and how to hire people for your department or if self-employed, to hire staff. It may become harder for you to find qualified people with Saturn here, so keep saving resumes when they are sent to you, and also keep a list of people that others recommend to you, even if you don’t need that job filled immediately – you will get used to doing this.

In matters of health, it will be imperative to have regular checkups. Protect bones and teeth from now on by frequently visiting the dentist, and perhaps by having a bone density scan if your doctor feels it would be a good idea. Saturn in Capricorn can drain the calcium in your bones, so find out if you need vitamins or weight bearing exercises to build strength.

December 21 will be a day when work may be weighty and make you feel crushed with responsibility. On this day, Saturn will conjoin your ruler, the Sun, and this will happen in your sixth house of work and health. This might not be the ideal day to schedule surgery or a procedure, but if you need it urgently, DO IT.

Let’s turn to the happiest part of your chart, your new home or location. Jupiter entered this part of your chart on October 10, so by now Jupiter has unpacked his bags in your fourth house of home, living, and who you are living with; so now under this Mercury Retrograde, make sure you don’t misplace or lose something valuable. Keep track of all your possessions, and if an item is precious to you, leave it somewhere safe in your home in early December especially if you are planning on travelling or being away from home.

You may have seen evidence of how lucky you are in these matters last month, but if not, you have until early November 2018. If you need to move, you are getting all the help the cosmos has to give.

What is exciting me about your chart is the entry of Mars to Scorpio, to meet up with Jupiter next month on January 8. This is a very rare aspect that we have not seen in Scorpio and your fourth house of home in decades. The last time Jupiter and Mars met in your home sector in Scorpio was August 1982. If you need to move, you will be feeling this energy all month, but very much so at the last week and in early January. You can have the home you always dreamed to have, dear Leo. If you want to give a party at home that would be a great idea, for it would be a big hit.

We have a big Full Moon January 1, in Cancer 12 degrees. This Full Moon will again fall somewhat close to Saturn (with a separation of 10 degrees), so it seems by then you will want rest and recuperation from the holidays. You will want to stay home by this point, and that’s a good idea – it is the place you will feel happiest. Your family will be standing by to support all your goals, including your parents. If you can, hire a babysitter to care for your children so you can sleep a little longer over the weekend, and wake up under a cozy soft down comforter. If you see the thick, fluffy snowflakes fall, you would feel like you had found a perfect little cloud on which to view the world.

You have a packed house of work projects, so it appears December is a busy month at work.

VIRGO SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (August 23 - September 22)

This is a complex month, because the planets will bring both gifts and tricks, so it will be important to sort out when you should act and when to hold back and table things for January.

Adding to the confusing elements in early December will be Mercury Retrograde from December 3 to 22. Mercury is your ruling planet, so it’s important to note all of its activities. We become forgetful during these

phases, and so it is easy to lose things or see things get damaged. Mercury rules communication, telephones, and also the mail. That same week, I sent a check to one of my staffers, and it never got there – and still didn’t arrive, My dear, Virgo you will have an important Full Moon in Gemini 12 degrees, December 3, to be influential for a plus or minus four days. At this point you may get an award, special publicity, or an offer for a new position that comes with much prestige, influence, and power. It appears to be in the publishing or broadcasting industry, or in travel / shipping / mail / courier fields. Those are the most likely industries, but it could be in others, with a strong emphasis on your ability to communicate. The point is you will find the offer intriguing. If you have a job broker, headhunter, agent, manager, or other person representing you, however, you seem not to agree, or at the very least, you may have a very different perception of this job. Neptune will be in hard angle to the Sun and moon, which is not good, as there will be many unanswered questions that you will need to ask.

After you dig around, I am not sure you will find this job suitable for you. Mercury is retrograde and Neptune is manufacturing fog at record rate this Full Moon, hiding conditions that you may find a deterrent to taking the job. Be sure you get a complete job description so at the onset you know what will be expected of you because there could be some confusion about that. At the same time, concerns about your family, and how you will care for them, may also enter the equation, perhaps because the commute will be longer. There are many difficulties here, so I feel you will need to take your time studying the facets of this offer – I would prefer you take it (if you want it) in January. I mentioned family because you have a crowded fourth house of home, including the Sun, Saturn, your ruler Mercury, and Venus.

One day to plan a trip now for next month will be January 6, when Mars will meet with Jupiter in Scorpio, a rare incidence, and for you, a perfect day to be on a trip, for any reason. If your birthday falls on September 10, plus or minus one day, you will have a double dip of pleasure on this day, January 6. You can begin getting ready now for that trip. If you need to travel a short distance to see a client, choose January 5.

New Year’s Eve brings you very close to the Full Moon on January 1, in Cancer, 12 degrees. At the time, you will have five planets in your house of love and fun, so it appears you will want to go out and be with friends to ring in the New Year.

If your birthday falls on September 4, plus or minus four days, you are most likely to enjoy this evening. The same is true if you have Virgo rising or the natal moon in Virgo 11 degrees. If you look at your natal chart, if you have a natal planet at 11 degrees of Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces, you too will find this to be a very special time of the month.

You need not wait until January 6 to travel. This month, you may love being away on December 27, perhaps for a long multi-day weekend, because on December 28, Mars in your travel sector (third house) will be contacted by

romantic Neptune, and together these planets can create a magical time, as if you entered into a winter wonderland snowball paperweight – if you can go to a snowy location, do. Neptune rules water, ice, snow, and all things from the stuff of dreams.

LIBRA SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (September 23 – October 22)

On the Full Moon in Gemini, 12 degrees, December 3, operative plus or minus five days, you may be thinking about making plans for international travel and/or finishing up legal matters. Alternatively you might be working on an immigration matter, getting a visa, or seeing about putting in an application to update your passport or to get a visa. You may be doing work with people abroad, and if so, you may not need to fly to see the client – all might be accomplished by email. Make sure your work is perfect, with no inaccuracies, because flaws proliferate during Mercury Retrograde. If you are heading back to college or graduate school in January, you will be thinking about which courses you will sign up to take. If you are defending a thesis, try to put it off until January, February, or my favorite month, early-to-mid March.

There will be a problem with the Full Moon, December 3, plus or minus four days, however, in that it is in hard angle to the Sun and New Moon, creating confusion. It would be a bad time to make a binding commitment verbally or in writing. Add Mercury Retrograde, and conditions are likely to change radically later, in ways you could never anticipate. Rather than commit, wait until January.

If your birthday falls on October 6, plus or minus four days, you will find a way to enjoy this Full Moon. The same is true if you have Libra rising 12 degrees, or have the Natal Moon at that degree, plus or minus four degrees. If you know you have a natal planet in Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius, or Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius at 12 degrees, you will find this New Moon will bring a positive experience, too. I still will ask you to delay making agreements.

Your income has been prosperous, as noted by the arrival of Jupiter in your second house of earned income two months ago, October 10. Jupiter is set to stay until November 2018. Now, Mars will come tearing through your personal financial sector, from December 9 to January 26, and it seems you will be spending far more money than you have in a long time. You may have anticipated these expenditures and saved up for them. You may be getting ready to buy property or renovate, give an important party, or travel overseas, all costly but exciting goals. If you have no idea of the type of expenses might be mounting up, you might want to slow down your spending until you get a better view of what is coming.

Don’t worry too much about money, however, for on January 6, Mars and Jupiter will combine forces and bring an outstandingly positive day for financial news. The person most likely to come to give you the good news

seems to be your spouse, business partner, agent, manager, job broker, or other person who represents you.

The big earthshaking day will be December 19 or 20, depending on your time zone, when Saturn, the great teacher, moves into Capricorn for the first time in decades, to stay in your home and family sector for three years, until December 2020. This is where your greatest personal growth will take place in your life. You may buy your first house, and save up for it during much of the three years, for Saturn teaches the benefit of sacrificing for a major goal that will form the foundation for your life for years to come. Or, you may take a bigger hand in helping your parents in a variety of ways and learn about how to best help them with their needs.

One of the toughest days of the month, and possibly of the season, will be December 21 when the mighty Sun will meet with Saturn. This is a combination of strange bedfellows, where the Sun is all fiery and hot, and Saturn is all icy and cold. They will meet in your family sector, so news is likely to require some deep thinking and the bringing up of emotions long buried from the past. A relative may not be well, as one example. Do not sell property on or near this day – the offers will be low. If you buy a house on this day, the mortgage may prove to be an expensive and at times burdensome. Perhaps the house will require many repairs that you will not see at the onset. Stay with what you can afford, now more than ever.

More family news will come up again at month’s end, for as you move to the New Year, another Full Moon will occur, January 1, in Cancer 12 degrees. You may be giving a party for New Year’s Eve and invite family as well as business associates to mix with friends. A good party has lots of contrasting guests, and who better than Libra to make a party a smashing experience?

Alternatively, you may give an open house or housewarming on New Year’s Day. The Full Moon is in Cancer, and it naturally rules your tenth house of fame and honors, so you may be celebrating a new job at the very start of the year.

Much, much more emphasis on family ties and property / home will come up in January – even more than you have now, which is hard to believe. This could be exciting, for you may be sailing into a new lifestyle, over calm seas and under a bright blue sky.

Plans for New Year’s Eve? This year, you seem to want to be home, surrounded by the warmth of family. New Year’s Day is landing on a Full Moon, and will soon bring news about your career AND you’re evolving private life at home, in a chic and very beautiful setting that you will be creating very soon.

SCORPIO SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (October 23 - November 21) Adding to the problems of the month will be Mercury Retrograde,

December 3 to 22 in your second house of earned income. It is never wise to

sign contracts or buy anything expensive when Mercury is creating confusing circumstances. Purchasing an electronic item will be especially risky now, as it is never wise to buy electronics, a car, or machines with moving parts when Mercury is out of phase. This month that will be December 3 to 22. However, we all feel Mercury retrograde two weeks prior to its turn, so it’s already too late to make those purchases. Mercury Retrograde will impinge on holiday shopping too, so it’s best to buy gift certificates or wire money. Express couriers will run late, for Mercury rules those types of companies too, and wild weather is likely to make things harder for the delivery of packages. Leave nothing for the last minute, and do not buy electronics this month, even if it will be delivered next month. No electronics!

Later in the month, the New Moon on December 18 in Sagittarius 27 degrees will also emphasize money. Whereas the Full Moon of December 3 plus or minus four days will emphasize funds you mix with others – taxes, credit cards, insurance, all kinds of loans, lines of credit, inheritance, child support and so forth – the New Moon of December 18 will focus on different funds. The funds you will be thinking about in the ten days following December 18 will emphasize private money that is yours to do with as you please. In this category is personal earned income, savings, and spending.

This New Moon only comes by once a year, and lighting your second house of earned income would normally be a good time to ask for a raise, and if you recently changed jobs (very possibly true) you may get your first paycheck, and it will be larger than before. However, if you ask for a raise now, with Saturn conjunct the Sun and New Moon of this New Moon period, you are likely to hear that the company is tightening its belt, that a raise freeze is on, or that they can only approve a small one. It is always worth a try, however, but be prepared for a disappointing answer that has nothing to do with your performance.

The biggest news of December will be the monumental move of Saturn out of your second house of earned income, a place Saturn has set up residence since December 23, 2014. He will leave this placement on December 19 or 20 this month (depending on your time zone) and free you to make more money from now on. Saturn will not be back to this area of your chart until 2044. During the past three years, Saturn held down your money – you may have felt you worked very hard and were underpaid for what you were given. You may have found it nearly impossible to increase your monthly income. Saturn was teaching you to do more with the money you did have coming in. During this period, you learned to get more for less, by getting better bargains, and to be more effective when in negotiations.

Normally, with Saturn leaving this month, you would feel financial relief immediately, but it seems you will have to be a little patient. The cosmos is playing tricks before that can happen. A New Moon sets the tone for six months, and as luck would have it, Saturn in Sagittarius, the spot that has been so difficult for you over three years, will be exactly conjunct that New

Moon. Stay with me, because I have to describe how astrology works to get to your outlook on money.

It doesn’t quite matter that Saturn will move on to Capricorn (and out of your financial second house) the day AFTER the New Moon in Sagittarius. The fact that Saturn WAS conjunct that New Moon on December 18 means you will feel its influence for a while, up to six months’ time. However, by the Full Moon in Sagittarius, May 29, 2018, you will be free and clear of Saturn’s clutches. Furthermore, next year, on December 7, 2018, the next New Moon in Sagittarius, you will see an even bigger reward for coping with Saturn’s rigors. That New Moon next year of December 7, 2018, will be a game changer, when the gates open and plenty of oceans of opportunities should appear for you.

Fortunately, there are ways to enjoy financial breakthroughs other than through a New Moon, and those many aspects will help you as you move forward in the New Year. One of them, a friendly aspect of powerhouse Pluto to Jupiter, will be operative almost all through 2018. You see how I have to weigh aspects for you to give you an accurate forecast. Pluto’s friendship with Jupiter will be a very strong aspect for you to see financial gain, for both planets are associated with large sums of money.

SAGITTARIUS SUN & RISING : DECEMBER 2017: November 22 - December 21)

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIME” Mercury is sure to affect your holiday shopping, so unless you are an energetic soul, planning to bake cakes and cookies for everyone on your list, you are better off buying gift cards for one and all. The one thing you should not buy is an electronic item, for Mercury rules electronics and machines with moving parts. That means buying a car or a kitchen appliance is out. Mercury Retrograde will affect your judgment, which is likely to be off at this time. You may become forgetful, distracted, or rushed, so you may choose the wrong model, pay too much, or may simply buy a lemon. When we buy electronics during a Mercury Retrograde period, we never enjoy the item as much as we assumed we would. This would be true of your recipient too. The whole point of giving a present is to make the other person really happy, so this year, let the person do the choosing of the gift she or he wants most.

The Full Moon of December 3 in Gemini, 12 degrees, will light your seventh house of marriage and partnership. Allow a plus or minus four days of influence. You may be eager to sign a business partner, agent, manager, or other person, but it would be better to wait. If you want to get engaged, that too would be better done on New Year’s Eve rather than during most of December. Here is one of the reasons I say that---The problem with this December 3 Full Moon is unusual – Neptune will be precisely square (hard angle) to the Full Moon and Sun. Neptune is known to bring a hazy confusion

when he manufactures his voluminous fog, covering everything in sight with a pretty mist, but that mist makes it impossible to see reality. The Sun rules your house of foreign people and places, and the moon rules your eighth house of other people’s money. If you must have partnership / marriage discussions in the first days of December, then you will need to ask many questions, and keep asking them until you have the answers you need. Between having misty cotton-head Neptune prominent and a screwball Mercury wandering around, early December will be maddeningly hard to tell the difference between what is real and what is Memorex. (That comparison is from a famous American commercial – it means what is real, and what is created for you, made to make you think it is real.)

The big moment of the month will be December 18, when the annual New Moon in Sagittarius will arrive. This New Moon is found aligned with Saturn, so the mood is weighty. You may feel overwhelmed with responsibility and wonder if you have done everything wrong. No, you are on the right track, but Saturn is simply the trickster at this point, making you doubt yourself for a few moments. I guess Saturn thinks this tactic is motivating, but I have my doubts! There is no need to doubt yourself at this time.

That queasy feeling might get more intense with everyone’s hardest day of the month, December 21, when the Sun and Saturn will align. Money will likely be especially tight on this tough day, but this would only be temporary. You may be reacting to the tension of the season, and of work, making you feel worn to the bone and in desperate need of sleep. If you try to push yourself all month, by December 21 you will wonder why your mood is so uncharacteristically gloomy – it’s Saturn when combined with lack of sleep.

If someone is critical of you on December 21, you will take the words too much to heart and overreact. Stay by yourself on this day, don’t ask for favors, and if someone is late paying you what is owed, take it with a shrug and have a contingency plan in place. January brings a much bigger month for financial management, so while this month might feel at times like you are living in a blender, better days lie ahead.

The headline news of December is that teacher planet Saturn will finally leave Sagittarius on December 19 or 20, depending on your time zone. I am splitting hairs – it’s either late at night or early morning. You have hosted Saturn in your sign since December 23, 2014, for three years. In that time, you took one or two big steps forward by accepting impressive responsibility. In so doing, you set off on an entirely new cycle, one that will carry you forward for three decades or more into the future by the experiences you have now, and the choices you make.

If you gave your heart and soul to the goal, you will now start to see the fruits of your labors. You have a new patina of authority, and others will accord you the respect you deserve. Saturn never sends rewards during his testing and tutoring period, but now that this period is ending, Saturn will

leave a gift for you at the door, one that is material or spiritual in nature, as thanks for meeting his vigorous tests.

Usually you would feel liberated quickly after Saturn leaves your sign, but the New Moon in Sagittarius of December 18 arrived one day before Saturn’s departure. The New Moon arrived arm in arm with Saturn in Sagittarius. Because a New Moon has a long reach, you might feel residual effects of Saturn until the end of May, the time of the Full Moon in Sagittarius. Compared to what you’ve been through, however, the coming weeks and months will be fairly easy and straightforward for you to handle. You have grown up quite a bit over the past three years, no matter how old you happen to be. The magical truth about life is that we continue to experience personal growth no matter how old we happen to be, and we can continue to develop our talents as we go along. It is never too late.

Saturn has to enter another house, so on December 19 or 29 he will move into your second house of earned income. Before you stand on your desk with a bullhorn to shout to the world, “I am doomed! Saturn will now limit my income!” – wait. Saturn will give you a course in financial management. As is true of Saturn, he will not give you any more or less of what you need, but give you just the right amount. If you have very little to learn, you may not notice much of Saturn’s presence.

View Saturn as a high priced tutor who will work directly with you for three years, from December 20, 2017 to December 17, 2020 and teach you how to become more successful. While he is with you, Saturn will show you how to get bargains, how to properly trim a budget without jeopardizing the quality of the project, and how to negotiate better terms for yourself, even if you are a veteran at making contractual agreements. If you dream of owning a house or condo, you may be closer to realizing that dream than you assume. You will learn how to assess insurance of all kinds, and you will be motivated to put money aside for any number of reasons, for Saturn is thrifty and frugal.

You will learn about how to grow your hard-earned money through wise, stable investments, and hopefully, how to find a financial advisor with fiduciary responsibility to your portfolio. You will learn more about tax law so that you can make informed decisions about how to spend your money. If you want your own business, you will learn all the laws and standards you will have to be mindful of when you begin.

You seem to be a bit obsessed about money this month, because the Full Moon of January 1, 2018 will fall in Cancer and also bring news about money. At this point, you will be paying bills to finish out the year with a clean slate. The good news is that Mars will be in strong, helpful position to boost the effects of the Full Moon, so you may be receiving a big check within four days of this Full Moon. Mars is the natural ruler of your fifth house of creativity, so an artistic project may be the source of the money that you see as you start the New Year January 1.

Put a gold star on two other dates for next month – January 5 and 6 – likely to be quite exciting for good news about money.

December 21 won’t be anybody’s favorite day, when fears about running out of money may leave you feeling overwhelmed. Saturn will now have moved to your second house of earned income, and will teach you to get the most from the money you earn, by cutting waste, negotiating well for yourself, and by being realistic about how you spend, save, and invest.

New Year’s Eve brings the transiting moon to Gemini, so let your partner take the lead – it may well turn out to be more fun that way. The Full Moon is on its heels, January 1, and may find you opening a beautiful, valuable gift, just for you.

CAPRICORN SUN AND RISING : DECEMBER 2017 (December 22 - January 19)

December has many quirky crosscurrents and confusing aspects, so it is just as well this will be a basically quiet month to stand at the sidelines and let others have the main attention. You need time to think and strategize your next move to make 2018 the important year you rightly sense it will be. If you rush to launch ideas or projects in December, your timing will be off.

The month opens on December 1 with a tough aspect, Mars opposed to Uranus. This is an angry, volatile, and separating aspect that will cut across your career and home sectors. Someone may push all your buttons, and you seem ready to speak your mind. Money seems to form part of the equation, for Uranus rules your eighth house of other people’s money, including commissions, one-time fees, royalties, bonuses, inheritance, venture capital, child support, and other such funds. You’ve been working very hard, so it is understandable that you may reach the breaking point if someone slights you by looking at you the wrong way.

You have a Full Moon, December 3 in Gemini 12 degrees, in your workaday sector, so it appears you will be finishing an important project that needs to be out the door in the first week, and at the very latest December 6. This Full Moon receives a difficult aspect from Neptune, in hard angle to the Sun and Full Moon. If you are charged with leading a team, be sure you understand all facets of the job, and that you transmit the instructions clearly to the staff reporting to you. The possibility for confusion will be very high. Take care of your health, for this project seems to require a strenuous effort, and may drain you.

The New Moon of December 18 seems to make you want to hibernate. Usually you are quite gregarious, but this holiday season, you will likely be content to borrow in at home and beg off all but the most important social engagements. You will have plenty of time to circulate in January’s birthday month, so you won’t lose out.

The New Moon of December 18 plus two weeks will be a good time to visit a professional therapist if you have any troubling thoughts or fears on

your mind, or if you need help with handling the pressures of the month. That person would likely understand your concerns and would be on hand to give you understanding and comfort. If you were dependent on any substance, this would be the ideal time of the year to reach out to get help on that front too. Plant the seed by consulting a therapist just after this New Moon.

The monumental development of the month will occur on December 19 or 20 (depending on your time zone) when Saturn will move into Capricorn for the first time since 1988 to 1991. This is a vital three-year trend that will transform you. Saturn teaches us that the goals we ultimately are proudest to say we achieved, are always the ones that we worked the hardest to win.

When we enter Saturn, we are expected to take on an important goal that will set a foundation for the coming three decades, or forever. You might be ready to marry, to have a baby, to buy your first house, or to make a major career move. You might write your first book, commit to graduate school, or take on the leadership in a humanitarian effort. These are just a few examples, and you might have an idea of what you might be doing next.

No matter what one goal you have, you won’t be able to easily undo it later, nor would you want to do so. The whole point of tackling this goal is to create stability in your life, and have your time count for something big. The goal will also require you learn something completely new to you. For example, as anyone who has ever purchased a house knows, it requires a lot of paperwork, and lots of advice ahead of time from your broker, and perhaps from friends too. First time parents often have a lot of questions for friends and family to best care for the child. Any new lifestyle change requires learning and adjustment, but is also very exciting.

Saturn will ask you to take a courageous step forward by choosing one goal within the coming three years. If your birthday falls in December, you will do this now, for you are an early born Capricorn. After you achieve what you have set your mind upon, you will feel more grown up no matter what age you happen to be. Saturn will not force you to take on your new role – you will choose it because the benefits that will accrue to you eventually are so worthwhile.

One possibly difficult day coming up will be December 21, when Saturn will conjunct the Sun. Most everyone will find this day deflating and exhausting. I am not sure you will agree with my assessment, however, because your ruler is Saturn. If anyone can find a way to deal effectively with Saturn’s demands, it’s you.

On this day, December 21, you might find that money is tight, for the Sun is the natural ruler of your eighth house of money, which includes credit cards. This is a once-a-year aspect, and one you have not felt since 1991, so it will feel new. If you were a little child at the time, you didn’t feel it – you would have to have been a teenager to notice any aspects. I know the holidays have us all spending more, but this aspect can bring on a feeling of being overwhelmed. Or, the incident may affect you in a different way, and

not have anything to do with money. Specifically, if someone criticizes you, you may become overly sensitive and possibly temporarily depressed. Your realistic, practical side allows you to rise above situations like this.

A much better set of two days will come earlier, December 15-16 days that will center on good news about money, and this time, news will come suddenly and make you smile.

One last note on Saturn in Capricorn: do all you can to build the strength of your bones and protect your teeth. If you cannot afford to see a dentist, consider calling a dental college to see if you can get much reduced fees for the care of your teeth. Also have frequent cleanings.

In terms of love and romance, January will be your headline month, for it will brim with planets in Capricorn. You will have fun in December too, because Mars will be moving through your eleventh house of friendship, fun, and festivities from December 9 through January 26. This is sure to bring you invitations to mix and mingle with friends, whether through spontaneous lunches and dinners and unexpected invitations to holiday parties that you’ll enjoy to the fullest.

One day near month’s end that will be a standout is December 27, when Mars and Neptune will create a dreamlike environment for a magical holiday evening. See friends, or be with your one-and-only love over a romantic dinner, or go to a concert or Broadway play, or simply take a nighttime walk together to see the lights in the pretty shop windows.

The month closes with an approaching New Moon in Cancer, January 1. By New Year’s Eve, you will feel the energy building.

AQUARIUS SUN AND RISING : DECEMBER 2017 (January 20 –February 19)

Mercury will be retrograde all month, from December 3 to 22, making it a bad time to make hard-and-fast decisions. You need time to mull over offers and developments, for this month, quick knee-jerk reactions will only lead you down the wrong path. Not everything that glitters this month will be real, so you will have to look closer and ask many questions. Mercury Retrograde will bring cancellations, mix-ups, and the need to redo parts of projects. We are all in this together, dear Aquarius, so when it starts to happen, don’t feel singled out.

Mercury will mess up your holiday shopping, so it will be imperative to start early, and to ship quickly too. If you wait until the last minute, your holiday plans may fall like a china cup and break into a million pieces. Express mail services will not be able to meet an overwhelming demand this year (these companies are ruled by Mercury too), so you can’t depend on any of those companies to get your packages to your recipients on time. It’s going to be like the Winged Messenger (Mercury) lost all his wings, at least temporarily.

Don’t buy any electronic items this month even if you won’t technically receive it until after Mercury is finished retrograding. Mercury rules the moving parts as well as the spark of electronic components, the reason the product does not always function the way we had hoped. Our judgment is off too during these periods, so we often buy the wrong model or simply get a lemon. We become rushed, distracted, and forgetful during these phases, so you see why Mercury Retrograde can be frustrating.

Now let’s turn to the events of the month. On the Full Moon, December 3, in Gemini 12 degrees, operative for two days before and four days after, you may have an outstanding romantic episode. I feel you are most likely to experience this Full Moon over December 2, a Saturday night, for the Full Moon will arrive quickly the following day. This Full Moon will fall in your fifth house of true love, and it could bring a fateful first meeting. It will be time to decide where you want your dating relationship to go – if you are happy, you will want to grow closer, and if you are not happy, you may decide to leave. It looks like this will be a highly romantic time, so chances are, you will be happy.

Neptune will have his fingerprints all over this Full Moon, December 3, so if you are in love, go slowly before making a commitment. Neptune will be in hard aspect to the Sun and Full Moon, veiling reality and making the world look magical in every way, but only time will tell if what you are seeing is real. When accepting a proposal for marriage, you need to be sure you know one another well. Neptune’s brother, Mercury, isn’t helping by creating an environment of smoke and mirrors, so you see the problem. By going slowly, you will protect your heart.

This same Full Moon, December 3, will be divine for expressing yourself artistically and for finishing up a creative project. In this case Neptune will add poetry, grace, and lyricism to all that you do.

If your birthday falls on January 31, plus or minus four days, you will notice the effects of the Full Moon, and benefit from it too. The same is true if you have Aquarius rising or the Natal Moon at 12 degrees, in all cases, plus or minus four degrees. Now if you have a natal planet in Aquarius, Gemini, Libra, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius at 12 degrees (plus or minus four degrees) you too will feel the great energy reward of this Full Moon.

After that, invitations for holiday parties and get-togethers will proliferate once the New Moon arrives on December 18. In the two weeks that follow, during some of the parties you attend you may make a new friend. Saturn will be conjunct the Sun and Moon, a serious influence, indicating you may be concerned about the health or welfare of your spouse, established partner, parent, friend, or co-worker. Someone near you appears

to be in distress, and when this happens, the person almost always will be too shy to ask for help Keep your eyes open – someone close needs you.

Next, Venus will receive a signal from surprise-planet Uranus, your ruler, on December 20, if you are single, you might meet someone interesting that you’d like to get to know better. This fateful meeting might happen while you are traveling to a nearby town, or even while you are doing quick errands around the neighborhood. It’s a busy time, but you will need to look your best.

PISCES SUN AND RISING: DECEMBER 2017 (February 19 - March 20)

This month Mercury will be retrograde from December 3 to 22 in the sign of Sagittarius in your tenth house of career reputation. For this reason, I hope you can wait to give your final answer to offers for a new position, promotion, or new client until after Christmas or in January. Mercury will obfuscate the description of what you will be expected to do, so you do need to wait. The very fact that Mercury is retrograde is a signal that the wind is changing direction, and for now, there’s no indication of which way things are headed.

There is one exception to the rule not to give a final answer to any new offers while Mercury is retrograde, and that is if you hear from a person or company that you used to work within the past, who wants to reconnect with you and do something together now. If that should happen, you are free to move forward. You are not starting a new relationship, but rather continuing one started previously, which apparently was very successful.

This will be a banner month for your career, for so much of what you’ve worked to achieve is coming to fruition. For three years, you’ve been operating under the watchful gaze of Saturn, the taskmaster planet that taught you how to reach for the stars through hard work and dedication to ideals. During the past three years, you have had continual feedback from experienced people to sharpen your game. When Saturn first came to your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement on December 23, 2014, you began your course of training. Think back to where you were then, and where you are now. See how far you’ve come, and how much valuable experience you’ve gained. You are very close to being able to put that knowledge to very good use.

Saturn is leaving his position in Sagittarius this month on December 19 or 20 (depending on your time zone) and is not due to return until 2044. Visits from Saturn in any one part of the chart are rare, as we only get two to three visits in each of the 12 sectors of our chart. Over the past three years, Saturn was on the angles of your chart, specifically the points that corresponds to the southernmost point in northern latitudes, and in southern latitudes, the northernmost point. In other words, Saturn has been on your mid-heaven point, the area of your reputation and contribution to your field and the world.

You have your solar tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement packed with planets, with the Sun, Saturn, Venus, and Mercury, plus the Sun and New Moon. Venus’ presence ensures everyone loves you, so go for the gold, because doors will swing open for you. The offer is likely to come to you this month, within days or weeks of the New Moon, and you may also get much publicity as well. You earned the acclaim you will receive now for all you learned and work you’ve done over the years working in your specialty. You are due for reward – this new assignment may be it.

Last month Jupiter entered your ninth house of international places and relationships, and this is where the golden nuggets lie. Keep developing your contacts overseas, and this coming year, make it a point to actually get on a plane to schedule face-to-face meetings. This will benefit you more than you can imagine at this juncture. Happily, Mars has just entered the same part of your chart to energize this part of your life further. Both Mars and Jupiter are in Scorpio, in loving angle to your Pisces Sun. You could not wish for a better situation. Mars will remain in your ninth house from December 9 to January 26.

Especially these two days I would like you to keep on your radar for January 5 and 6 when Mars and Jupiter will combine forces in conjunction. If you hope to travel, I would love you to be on foreign shores on at least one of those two days.

Let’s talk about romance now. This month has a strong career accent, but next month, in January, you will have an exceptionally social time. You will be out and about meeting many new people, with plenty of chances for romantic episodes too.

Even though this month does not hold a candle to the exciting events and people you will meet next month, you will have time for fun and love in December. It won’t be all work and no play, dear Pisces. You will be supported by Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces – three terrific planets that will boost your magnetism sky high. It’s an exciting time to be you!
