Moose Scoop
Callao Moose Family Center April 2020
Governor’s Corner Greetings to all my Brothers & Sister's. Hello to all my lodge brothers & sister’s, not just Callao # 917. I was going to say how wonderful the winter had been, but how quickly things can change. Since we have last seen each other or spoken. No one could have foretold the new meaning behind sickness & distress. So many in so many locations are being affected. Lohan, Corvid - 19, Coronavirus or Chinese Flu, whatever you care to call it We now realize the level we are interwoven with other countries & people of the world. I have no answer, just to please be cautious. To all those affected, in anyway, you have mine as well as my lodges most sincere wishes & prayers. Many thanks to the members of Callao 917 & others for being so understanding during this time. As we are closed, I as well as the officers are very grateful. Our new generator has arrived. Shortly it will be powering the lodge. We are very proud of it due to the fact it runs the entire facility. Spring has sprung, with it, may it also bring forth hope and faith in each other. Do your best to laugh, smile and help others each day. God bless & move forward with a smile. We'll be having an adult egg hunt. Must be 6 & under with membership card to Callao 719. The midnight egg hunt will consist of eggs holding miniatures. Must be there, to play, no substitute. Time 8:62 am. Will you be there? For reservations on the 10th of never call 1 733 386 2277. Greetings to all members and co-workers, I am sure most of you have heard that all Moose Lodges have closed, including Callao, until further notice. I will still be your Senior Regent to July this year as no new officers will be elected until then. We will keep you informed of any and all changes. There will be no meetings through the month of April, and we will let you know about May. It is pretty much up to our Governor and Moose International when we will open again. Please be safe and I wish you all the very best. This Coronavirus is a hugh issue, one most of us have never seen. I hope it goes away quickly so we can all get back to normal. Until next month……..Thank you so much, Cindy Headley Senior Regent Callao WOTM (804) 313-0968 (Text Preferred)

The Tommy Moose® program aids in helping children overcome fears and anxiety during times of stress. Donated to Law Enforcement, Fire, and other Emergency workers, Tommy Moose plush dolls are presented to children in various traumatic situations. In addition to this service, the Tommy Moose character has grown to personify happiness, safety, and security through personal appearances, books, and on children's goods.
Tommy originated as a Moose community service project in Connecticut and soon spread throughout the US and Canada.
Since 2002, over 100,000 Tommy Moose plush dolls have been donated to shelters, hospitals, and emergency workers, who in turn deliver them to children in need of some comfort when facing some of life’s biggest challenges.
