From the uplands to the sea,Ka Resty and the fishers of Morong had made headway with their initiatives! A request for assistance was made to help Sabang in their CRM.

It was also recognized that there was a need to work together within the barangays and among the coastal villages for the COASTAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (CRM) OF MORONG

Commodity Flow Market Channel Problem Encountered Proposed Solution Barrio, Morong Wet Market, Balanga, Subic, or Olongapo

Sources of Financing Forms of Credit Access to Credit Sariling sikap, paminsan-minsan nalang kumakain para makaipon, tulong ng BFAR, utang sa konsignasyon, porsentuhan, cooperative

There was less concern in the marketing of marine products!

Some rules on fish vending seem to be of concern to the ambulant vendors

There is clearly a percieved decline in fish catch from more than 20 kg per fisher per day in the 1970’s to less than 5 kg per day at present;

Except for some pelagic fisheries (e.g. Sapyaw for Galunggong) where there seems to be no distinct decline seen

of increasing demand for food and declining fish yields

Aquaculture has been considered as one of the solutions to the declining fish yields in coastal zone. Unfortunately, with the rapid growth of the industry it has brought considerable environmental and economic concerns.

Awareness, knowledge and wisdomAwareness, knowledge and wisdom

Not many are aware of CRM initiatives in Morong.

There are only few CRM activities.

The knowledge and wisdom on how to catch fish may be transformed to knowing how to take care of the fish for the future!
