In poco tempo,“Bepi” si ritrovШ a gestire unapiccola produzione per un ristrettomercato locale. La sua passioneper la montagna e per il suo lavorolo spinsero a cercare materialiinnovativi e nuovi metodi di lavora-zione per ottenere un prodotto piЭvalido e sicuro nell’uso. IniziШcosУ a seguire le nuove idee di VitaleBramani, fondatore della Vibramche iniziava a sviluppare le primesuole in gomma, mentre si orga-nizzava con nuovi macchinari,prendeva contatti con

fornitori, assumeva qualche aiutante ed apriva il primo laboratorio. Un aiuto fondamentalein questo periodo gli veniva fornito dalla moglie Maria. Il figlio Emilio coltivava anch’eglila passione per la montagna e, seguendo i passi del padre, iniziava a produrre i primi pro-totipi di scarponi che usava sulle montagne intorno a casa con gli amici. Poco alla voltaprese il posto del padre nella gestione del laboratorio artigianale e, oltre al mercato Italiano,cominciò a sondare i mercati esteri. Attualmente più del 90% della produzione globale èdestinata a Paesi esteri. Seguendo l’esempio del padre, anche Emilio si è circondato di col-laboratori famigliari. Dall’inizio la moglie l’ha assistito nella gestione dell’azienda ed oraanche i figli Marco eMaria vi sono occupati, portando nuove idee, mamantenendo un forterispetto per le tradizioni e una grande passione per la montagna. Così la Zamberlan, dopopiù di 70 anni di attività, resta ancora una azienda a conduzione famigliare, con la terzagenerazione coinvolta in tutte le fasi della gestione. Grande attenzione viene da sempre pre-stata alla tecnologia, con costanti acquisti di nuovi macchinari, test su nuovi materiali e sutecniche di lavorazione, che, combinati con la grande esperienza di calzolai specializzati,garantiscono standard qualitativi elevati e costanti. Consapevole del fatto che ogni Paese haesigenze diverse, Zamberlan ha un programma di test e verifica del prodotto costante neiprincipali mercati del mondo ed è pronta ad interpretarne il trend, offrendo sempre un pro-dotto altamente qualificato e valido.

Giuseppe Zamberlan, father of the present Chairman, began his career as “shoe repairer” after the First World War. Before long, “Bepi”(short for Giuseppe) was making boots for others who recognized his craftsmanship. His great love for the mountains, his passion fortrekking and his initial success, led him to search for better materials and more efficient construction methods to satisfy his quest for “saferand easier” movement in the mountains. ‘Bepi’ soon supported the revolutionary ideas of Vitale Bramani, the founder of VIBRAM, inthe development of rubber outsoles, bought machinery, contacted suppliers, hired workers and opened his first workshop. Important assi-stance during this period came from his wife Maria. Emilio, his son, grew to share his father’s love for the mountains, joined the familybusiness, eventually took over and realized that the export market was the way to go, so he began to travel to seek overseas customers forhis boots. For over 30 years Zamberlan have exported world-wide to most major Countries and at present are exporting over 90% of thetotal production. As was the case with his father, Emilio has worked in close partnership with his family. From the beginning his wifehas always assisted him and now his son Marco and daughter Maria are both involved in the management of Calzaturificio Zamberlanintroducing innovative ideas, while maintaining a strong respect for tradition and great love for the mountains: they often go trekking,climbing, ice climbing and mountaineering not only for pleasure, but also to try out new ideas from production. So the ZamberlanCompany – after more than 70 years of boot manufacturing, is still a family run business, with the third generation actively taking partin all stages of design and production. Besides the skill and passion of our workers, technology, modern machinery, new materials andconstruction methods have always been key factors to grant the highest standards of quality and consistency. Recognizing that differentcountries have different demands, Zamberlan have an international on-going test program which allows us to adjust even the small detailson our products and to listen to the different trends and needs from the different markets.

E’ importante conservare con cura le scarpe per prolungarne la vita.Queste le regole da seguire:1. Sfilate i lacci e lavate le scarpe con acqua fredda e sapone, assicurando

che tutto lo sporco ed il terriccio vengano eliminati. Risciacquare benele scarpe.

2. Estraete i plantari, lavateli e metteteli ad asciugare in una zona ventilata3. Quando le scarpe sono completamente asciutte, applicate la Crema

Hydrobloc® se il pellame è un pieno fiore o il Balsamo Hydrobloc® aBase Acqua se si tratta di pellame scamosciato, nabuk o scamosciato eCordura.

4. Conservate le scarpe in luogo fresco ed asciutto, ben aerato, lontanodalla luce diretta del sole – possibilmente nella loro scatola.

NOTE IMPORTANTI• Il punto più critico è la zona di flessione del piede. La continua solle-

citazione, ogni qualvolta si flette il piede, è dannosa alla struttura stessadella pelle, che può cedere e creparsi. Per questo è molto importantemantenere la scarpa ben ingrassata: l’uso costante della cremaHYDROBLOC® assicura che la pelle sia morbida e flessibile.

• Mai asciugare le scarpe a diretto contatto con fonti di calore come ter-mosifoni, caminetti o stufe. It is important to take good care of the boots in order to prolong theirlife. Here are some recommendations to follow:1. Remove laces and wash boots under cold running water with mild soap

making sure that all debris is removed from uppers and soles. Rinseyour boots well.

2. Remove the footbeds, wash them and leave everything to dry in awarm, ventilated area.

3. When the boot uppers are fully dry, apply Zamberlan Hydrobloc®Proofing Cream to full grain leathers or Hydrobloc® Water-baseConditioner to nabuk or fabric.

4. Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight – ideallyin your cardboard box.

IMPORTANT NOTES• The point of the boot which is most prone to wear is exactly where the

foot flexes. This is because the continuous strain caused by each flexionof the foot damages the actual structure of the leather which can even-tually bend and crack. Therefore it is always very important to keepthe shoes well greased. The constant use of HYDROBLOC® creamguarantees a smooth and elastic leather.

• Never place boots close to a font of heat such as a radiator or an openfireplace. The excessive heat causes the solvents of the glues to com-pletely dry out and evaporate so that the ferrule of the shoe becomesrigid and deformed and the sole becomes unstuck from the central partof the ferrule. This could even eventually lead to the completedetachment of the front part of the sole. Consequently this method ofdrying must at all costs be avoided.

• Excessive sole wear can be dangerous and may cause accidents, soalways check the condition of the outsole for visible signs of wear.
