Dear Students, Parents/Caregivers and Friends

What a fabulous start to Week 10 with a visit from

six University of Sunshine Coast education students

who started their Coast to Country school visit

program at our great school. The students were so

keen to be here and to learn as much as possible

about our school and what it is like working and

living in a community like ours. They loved what

they saw and heard so hopefully we will see one or

more of them back here again to do a practicum or

to teach full time.

Then this great visit has been followed by an

awesome day on the oval for our annual athletics

carnival. The weather was perfect, maximum effort

given and lots of smiles covered faces. Well done,

Mr Chantler and your team of helpers for your

preparations and tasks on the day. A special thank

you to Ebaia Galele and Lindsay Wragge for their

efforts in getting the grounds ready for the day. This

was much appreciated. And also to the Moura SHS

students we had helping – Olivia, Lachlan, Bri,

Nadjwa, Kimberley, Conor and work experience

student Kye Finlayson. Add in a few parent helpers

and we had many hands making light work!

Blink and another term has gone! Thank you all for

keeping your focus on our core business – teaching

and learning – especially despite the shorter weeks

we have experienced this term due to public

holidays and extra school activities. The extra school

activities have certainly value added to our

curriculum so we are happy with that.

The A-E data indicates a successful term/semester

of teaching and learning with 90.8% of all students

across all subjects achieving an A-C result. We had

predicted 85%. 96.3% of students were rated A-C

for their behaviour (79.7% A/B behaviour) while

98.5% gave A-C effort (81.4% A/B effort) to their

learning. Striving for great things as our school

motto states!!

The School Annual Report 2016 has been uploaded

to our school website for your perusal. A hard copy

of the report is also available in the Office.

Enjoy the two week break from the routines of

school time. Rest and be prepared for another great

term/semester on Monday 10 July.
