Moving Applicants within the Workflow and Creating and Routing a Hiring Proposal – Hiring Manager

From Hiring Manager Review to Interviewed – Not Selected or Recommended for Hire

1) Log into PeopleAdmin with your YSU credentials.

2) In the upper left hand corner, click on the 3 blue dots to reveal the drop down menu.

3) From the drop down menu, select Hire (the heading color will be blue).

4) Change your Current Group to Hiring Manager.

5) Click on Postings and select the appropriate position type.

6) Click the title of the appropriate position.

7) Enter the Applicants portion of the posting by clicking the Applicants tab.

8) Click More Search Options.

9) Click in the field to the right of the Workflow State and select Hiring Manager Review. Click Search.

Interviewed – Not Selected

1) Check the box to the left of those applicants that you interviewed, but will not be moving forward in the process. Hover over the Actions button and select Move in Workflow under the Bulk section.

2) Select “Interviewed – Not Selected”

3) After “Interviewed – Not Selected” is applied, PeopleAdmin will ask for a specific reason that each candidate was not selected to move forward. You must make a selection in the “Change for all applicants” drop down before you begin entering the individual reasons for each applicant. Enter reasoning for decision and click Save changes.

Note: If you do not make a selection in the first drop down, you will not be able to save your work on the rest of the page. If you make a selection in the master drop down, it will change the reason for each applicant, but you can then change each of their individual drop down choices.

Recommend for Hire

1) Click in the field to the right of the Workflow State and select Hiring Manager Review. Click Search.

4) Click on the name of the candidate with whom you are moving forward; they should be the only one displayed under Hiring Manager Review.

5) Hover over Take Action On Job Application in the upper right corner and select “Recommend for Hire (move to Recommend for Hire)”. Click Submit on the pop-up.

6) Click “Start Hiring Proposal – Fills Position”.

7) Click “Select Position Description”; the position description associated with the Posting is pre-selected. If you’d like to seat the individual in a different position description, click the radio button to the left of any of the other positions listed and then click “Select Position Description”. Click OK on the pop-up that appears.

8) Enter the following information on the Hiring Proposal:

a. Indicate that you have satisfactorily checked the candidate’s references by clicking the box.

b. Make a selection from the Relocation Allowance dropdown box. If it is beyond the standard $1,000

allowance, please list the additional details in the Comments box. Refer to the Relocation allowance for new full-time employee policy 3356-7-54 if you have any questions (note that Classified Civil Service Hourly positions are not eligible for a Relocation Allowance).

c. Enter a Jobs Effective Date (your best case scenario for a start date, utilize the beginning of a pay

period).

d. Enter the Annual Salary (Professional/Administrative positions) or Regular Rate (Classified positions)

to offer.

e. Enter only in the specific fields mentioned above. f. Click Save and Next at the top or bottom of the Hiring Proposal.

9) Upload any necessary documents. Typically, there will be no documents to upload. Click Next.

10) Hover over Take Action On Hiring Proposal and select “Approve (move to EEO)”.

11) Add any applicable comments and click Submit.
