Background

Introduction to global initiative – Resulted from an international trade seminar held by the Charles County Economic Development

Department (March 2019) Representatives from the Embassy of Mozambique presented on Mozambique’s value

propositions and business opportunities and were eager to build a relationship with Charles County.

Strategic partners in trade mission preparation:– Maryland Department of commerce’s Office of International Investment and Trade– US Export Assistance Center – US Commercial Service in U.S (Baltimore)– US Commercial Service – U.S Embassy (Mozambique) – Mozambique Embassy (Washington D.C.)– Mayor’s Office in Matola – XCBG International Development Group

Trade Mission to Mozambique(May 4th - May 8th, 2020)

Goal and Objective:

Provide opportunity for our businesses to explore new markets, identify, and promote international cooperation through business and trade - as part of a long-term business expansion strategy.

Formalize Sister City Partnership with City of Matola.

Promote exchanges in youth and higher educational study aboard programs through the establishment and sustain collaboration with educational institutions.

Generate new initiatives to further and nurture the economic, social, and cultural relationships between the communities.
